| Ridley adopted!
Meet Ridley, a spunky and adorable 1 year old purebred male Labrador. Ridley is a yellow male who is a dudley, meaning he has a liver colored nose and eyeliner. We LOVE the dudleys!
He is a smaller sized male at 65 lbs and is a really good looking boy with a gorgeous pale yellow coat and sweet face.
Ridley is an active young Labrador who loves a good time. He has lots of energy and will do best in a home where he will get plenty of daily exercise including walking, running, hiking, dog park and dog beach. He would be a fabulous jogging and hiking partner as he is quite athletic.
Ridley has a lovely personality and really enjoys his toys. He especially loves chewies and raw hides and will throw them in the air for himself.
Ridley is quite the puller on the leash and does best with the use of a pinch collar. Once he is walking and at pace he does quite well. He is still a young boy and has some learning to do, but he really wants to please and would be just the best buddy for an active family or person looking to do lots of things with their dog.
He loves to play with other dogs and would do fine with another young playful companion for company. He can get a little excited on the leash when seeing other dogs because he really wants to meet them so he needs continued work to be just a tad calmer saying hello but he will get there as he is used to being on leash more and more.
This young boy is just beautiful and a doll. He has so much potential and would really do great in a training class so he can be his best. He needs a loving and committed owner who is willing to work a little with him to help him grow into a wonderful dog since he is still really a puppy at just a year.
Ridley is a wiggle bug and likely too much for small children. We will place him with families where children are over 12 years. He loves kids but we think little kids running around will just get this young boy excited and he can jump and play knocking kids over.
Ridley settles nicely in the house after he has had his exercise. He really needs a good amount of exercise so no couch potatoes for Ridley!
Ridley is learning his basic commands and responds very well to treats so he is food motivated and loves to learn.
Ridley is not good with cats so we will not place him with them.
Ridley is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
If you feel you can offer the active lifestyle this beauty will thrive in, please complete an application to adopt and follow up with an email to TheRoseGarden21@aol.com

| Romeo adopted!
Ahhh! This is Romeo, a really handsome purebred male Labrador of 5 years. This boy is a really well bred purebred with excellent conformation and perfect temperament. He's the cream of the crop.
Romeo is of perfect size for a male Labrador at 65 lbs. Often now days, we see Lab much, much bigger, but this boy is right where he should be for the breed standard and is such a perfect size. He also has a gorgeous head and sweet expression.
Romeo has a gorgeous thick black coat and a touch of grey just under his chin that makes him look even cuter than he already is. This boy is darling.
Romeo came to us when his family lost their home and were forced to give up their dogs. He was taken to a local Labrador breeder who contacted us to tell us of Romeo's plight. The day our volunteer met Romeo there was no question of how wonderful this boy is and he came home with us that day.
Romeo is a calm and loving boy. He has just the best easy going personality and takes just about everything in stride. He loves to be with his person and loves riding in the car. And with his temperament you can take Romeo just about anywhere.
Romeo is very good with all other dogs as well. He's not a crazy playful guy but he enjoys their company quite a lot.
Romeo will do fine in a home with another friendly canine companion - especially if he is to be alone all day. He really doesn't love being totally alone so a friend would be nice. He's not really a dog to leave in the back yard all day by himself.
This boy is really a best friend. He wants to be part of a family and close to his people. He is a very calm boy in the house but has plenty of spunk for dog park, good walks, and trips to the beach.
Romeo is fostered with another Lab and is doing great with her. He is enjoying his foster home very much and settling in beautifully.
He's not much of a retriever though. He doesn't love to get the ball. He is really more of a cruiser just hanging out and enjoying easy romps with his foster sister and enjoying life.
Romeo did fall in the pool two times. It was clear he has not been in a pool before and he got a little scared. We think once introduced properly he will like swimming. If he new family has a pool they must be sure Romeo can get out safely.
He is a gentle and calm boy so is a good choice for families with children.
Romeo is a real lover and such a special boy.
He is healthy, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered.
If you feel Romeo the lover is right for your family, please complete an application and shoot an email to jennifersbrandon@gmail.com

| Mojo adopted!
Meet Mojo, a stunningly handsome male 3 year old purebred Labrador. Mojo is an English or Bench Bred Lab with a giant block head and is show or close to show quality in conformation. He is really just gorgeous.
Mojo has a buttery yellow coat, blocky head, and adorable expressive face. He's a pretty neat guy too with a wonderful personality and sweet nature.
Mojo is all boy. He is very darling. He is learning his manners in the house and doing really well, settling down nicely, staying off the furniture and just learning to be a really good boy.
He is wonderful on the leash. He doesn't pull one bit and is a good walker. And he LOVES his walks more than anything. Because he is still a young boy, he needs a good walk every day. But after his exercise he prefers a nice nap on his bed after giving a few kisses.
Mojo is very good with other dogs. He loves to play with his foster sister.
Mojo is a great dog who is a lot of fun.
Mojo will do fine with another female companion or as an only dog. Although he is fine with male dogs, we think he would really love a female compion.
Mojo is really just a great dog in almost every way. His looks are off the charts. He is amazingly loving and loyal. And he is a really good boy in the house settling down so nicely. Plus walking him is pure pleasure as he glides right at your side.
He may be too large and wiggly at times for toddlers but we think he will do great with older children over age 6.
Mojo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
If you feel this stud muffin is right for your family, please be sure you have completed an application and had your homecheck and then follow up with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Jake and Coco adopted!
Jake and Coco are a pair of wonderful, trained, and perfect purebred AKC registered Labrador Retrievers. They are both chocolate babies and Jake is 5 and Coco is 6.
These dogs came to us after a family tragedy preventing their owner from keeping them. These were beloved dogs who were family members since they were each 8 weeks of age.
Jake and Coco were raised with children and toddlers and are gentle and calm dogs. They have excellent house manners, are perfect with all other dogs, are not destructive, and are housebroken. They are very easy dogs who are medium energy and perfectly behaved. For the family looking to add a bonded pair to their household, you couldn't do better than these two wonderful purebreds.
Jake and Coco love to share the same bed and even the same food bowl! They are wonderful on the leash and obedient off the leash.
They have not been exposed to cats so we will not place them with kitties.
If you are looking for a perfect pair of Labs, here they are. Wonderful, loving, trained, and perfectly behaved in the home and with little toddlers and childern.
Jake and Coco are healthy, neutered and spayed, and up to date on vaccines. They come with their AKC papers and all former vet records.

| Halle adopted!
Meet Halle, a darling 1 year old purebred yellow female Labrador who is a very sweet, gentle girl.
She is a golden yellow girl and on the petite side. She is only about 40 pounds and is on the thin side right now - she should gain about 5 pounds to be at her ideal weight. She will probably grow to be about 60 lbs as an adult so she will be a nice small-medium size Labrador.
She has a lovely coat, smiling face, and seems to have been well taken care of before she ended up at a very dangerous high kill shelter.
She is obedient and only wants to please, a very well behaved girl for a young Lab! She loves to just sit up next to you and give you kisses. Halle was found as a stray and made her way to one of the highest kill shelters in California. We quickly rescued this girl to ensure she finds a great new home. Hard to believe this girl ended up as a stray when clearly she was not long ago someones beloved Lab. She has a sweet, playful temperament. She loves her dog toys, whether she's chewing on a dog bone, or playing with a soft squeaky toy - tossing it in the air to play with - lots of fun doggie toys are a must for this young girl. She gets along well with all other dogs. She loves to play and is having great fun with her foster sister. Halle is also good with cats so she is a great candidate for those homes with kitties! This girl is really a very good, easy puppy who will be a very calm adult dog! She is wonderful in the car, at dog park and settles beautifully in the house! Halle will mature into a nicely calm, medium energy Labrador. She's still a young pup, so she needs her exercise but settles perfectly in the house and as she matures will eventually be a pretty mellow girl. Daily exercise and socialization every single day are necessary for this young girl. She loves her walks and would love trips to dog park, dog beach, and even hiking. She will benefit from lots of exposure to new places and things to help her grow into a confident & comfortable adult dog. Halle would do well at a doggie obedience class and would be even more perfect after additional training. This is a great way for owner and dog to bond and a lovely way for her to get more socialization which all young doggies need. She is just such a sweet girl with a happy demeanor. She is a typical puppy who can be jumpy and she has been known to counter surf, so she will need some gentle corrections to ensure she learns the right behaviors. She would likely do well with children as long as they are not too rough with her as she is a gentle girl who can be somewhat timid at time. Remember that as a young pup, she may choose the wrong thing to chew on, so it is best to keep an eye on her & keep things like remote controls out of her reach. One of Halle's best skills is how good she is on leash. She has a pep in her step, but she rarely pulls, so she can be walked on a regular collar with no trouble at all - she really is a pleasure to walk!
Halle is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped! Now all she's looking for is her forever home.
If you think Halle is the girl for you, please be sure to complete an application and submit it, and follow up with an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Lola 2 adopted!
Meet little miss Lola! Lola is a darling and adorable purebred yellow female Labrador puppy of just 3 1/2 months.
This little girl is your typical cute-as-can be Lab puppy complete with all the lovely and horrid things puppies bring to our lives! She is the dearest and sweetest little gem, but still a baby so she requires lots and lots of attention, potty training, commitment and love.
Lola's story is a common one and one that frankly upsets us more than we can ever express. Lola was a "gift" to her family from a friend - NEVER a good idea. Needless to say her family had zero idea about dog or puppy ownership and thought Lola was just "very cute". When they found out puppies needs lots of care and attention, they took her to the shelter to dump her to get rid of her. And this is a BABY.
The shelter they chose is one of the worst in all of Los Angeles County. Even if a dog does get adopted, you can bet it will be into a horrible and unqualified home. Thank God one of our volunteers was there the moment this idiotic family showed up with her and we promptly took her off their hands directly to the car so she would never need to be exposed to a shelter environment where little puppies like Lola can pick up all kinds of things that puppies can get sick and die from.
No family should ever consider adopting a puppy because they are cute. Puppies are a huge lifelong commitment and they are living creatures worthy of only the very best care and respect we can give them.
Lola is a healthy, happy and sweet little pup. Our vet thought she was in great shape and she has been given a clean bill of health for adoption. She is a tad traumatized from what she has gone through and is slowly acclimating to her foster home where she is given much love and much needed socialization with other Labradors.
Puppies require at least one person in the house to be home most of the time. They can not be left alone at this age. Families adopting puppies must have a safe and secure crate for puppy to be safe and help with potty training.
Please do not apply to meet Lola if you are not 100% committed to owning and raising a baby Labrador Retriever. She will cry and wake you up at night to go out. She will chew and get into things. And she will need a family who is fully prepared and willing to give her time and training.
Lola is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Her new family will need to do a follow up round of puppy vaccines in a couple of weeks and a spay deposit is required.
If you would like to meet dear Lola, be sure to complete an application to adopt and then follow up with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Hunter 5 adopted!
Oh, who is the most GORGEOUS boy???? Hunter is! Just look at this boy! Hunter is an adorable purebred 8 month old male Weimaraner who is just THE sweetest little man. He is nothing but love, love, love.
Hunter
has a beautiful natural tail and an absolutely stunning face. This is a really good looking boy who also has outstanding temperament - he is well adjusted, happy, and only wants to please.
Hunter is
very playful - after all he is still a youngster! And he is wonderful with dogs. He loves to run around and romp with other
dogs and they seem to completely enjoy his company. He has very nice
doggie manners. He also loves to chase and play with balls, as well as
big doggie ropes. Pretty much everything is wonderful for Hunter.
Hunter is a puppy and as such he is also
mischievous and will run off with your shoe, or sock, if you're not
watching him! It's adorable, but obviously all puppies need to learn
that shoes and socks are off limits! He takes correction very well and
listens and learns. He really wants to please.
Like most weims
(and Labbies too!), Hunter is not above checking the counter for food or
some other goodies to steal. But when things are put away properly this
is never a problem. All Weims and Labs will browse a counter so it's
always important to put yummy things away. We think Hunter has learned this and seems to be not counter surfing any more.
Hunter is beautifully housetrained and is using a doggie door to go out to go potty. What a good boy!
And boy is he a great sleeper! He loves his bed and will sleep the whole night
through quietly. He likes to snuggle with another dog on occasion as
well because he is a so loving.
Hunter is walking
wonderfully on leash and is doing great. He passes other dogs very nicely. He is a good listener and is
easily trained. He has also learned his commands, such as "sit," and "stay" for
which he is given a treat. With practice, he will have that mastered
all his basic commands in no time! We think he would just love a puppy
class especially if you want to show off how well behaved and smart your new Weimy is!
Hunter is a LOVE bug and wants to be with his person. He
wants to snuggle on the couch with you while you watch TV. He wants to
be with you, and will follow you from room to room to keep an eye on you
in true Weim fashion. He will be a very loyal dog to some lucky person
or family! We found Hunter at an Orange County shelter. Hard to believe right? Obviously when we saw how lovely this boy was, it wasn't a hard decision to take him right away and get him into his foster home right away. His foster mom and dad ADORE this guy.
Hunter is a very well adjusted and active young Weimaraner. He will do best in a home with another friendly sweet dog if you are away for long periods or as your one an only provided you are home more than not since he really likes company. He must have a home where he will be given lots of exercise and get to do things young dogs love to do such as hike, go to dog park, and dog beach and do other fun outings.
Hunter will be the perfect "best friend" to his fortunate new owner. His looks, temperament, and desire to love, love, love you make him a superior dog in so many ways. As long as his new family is ready for a young boy and has the time to exercise, love, and continue puppy training with Hunter, they will get just the best dog ever.
Hunter will do fine with older children, but large young Labs and Weims are really too big and too wiggly for toddlers. They can knock them down without meaning to. And they require more time and attention that families with little toddlers often have which is why we always ask families with toddler to look at older dogs.
We don't know how Hunter will do with cats, so we are not looking to place him with them.
Hunter is neutered, healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
This is a great and beautiful dog. It would be hard to do better for those looking for an active youngster with a huge heart.
If you feel this boy is right for your family, please complete an application to adopt and follow up with an email to IndiWeimGirl@aol.com

| Bell adopted!
This is Bell, the sweetest girl in the world. Bell is a beautiful yellow (white) purebred female Labrador of 3 years.
Bell is about 70 lbs and has a gorgeous white coat and pretty face, but her good looks are only the beginning as her temperament is the true winner here. She is just perfection.
This slightly shy, submissive girl came to us from one of Los Angeles's highest kill shelters. Although there apparently was some interest in adopting her from the shelter, the person never showed up to do the adoption and we could not let Bell stay there in danger so she came home with us.
Bell is a very gentle calm and sweet girl. She is just slightly on the shy side but in a nice way and she adores being with her person. She likes to be in the house or wherever her person is and does not like being left in the yard knowing you are inside. She will do best with a person who around much of the time or at least where she will have the run of the house with a doggie door to let herself in or out. She won't do her best in a home where she is an only dog alone all day in a yard. She is a true companion Labby. Her new owners will have someone around much of the day and another friendly canine companion.
Bell is wonderful with other dogs. She greats them nicely and is on the submissive side which we love. She is a dream on the leash walking right by your side with pulling a bit. And she passes other dogs nicely too greeting people as they walk by.
Bell is a low energy, MELLOW dog. She is not a playful girl and really is just a couch potato. She just wants to be with her person and LOVES greeting people when they come in the front door.
She basically ignores cats so we think she will do fine in a home with dog savvy kitties.
She will do fine with children, but we prefer not to place her with toddlers because of her occasional shyness. Toddlers can be overwhelming at times. That said she would be wonderful with toddlers. We just prefer not to place her in a permanent home with them.
She is a very mellow. She settles beautifully in the house and is quiet and calm laying by your feet or on her bed. She also crates wonderfully and sleeps through the night without a peep.
This gentle lamb is pure sweetness and just a joy to have in her foster home.
Bell is healthy, spayed and up to date on vaccines.
If you feel Bell is the one for you and you have completed an application and been homechecked and approved, please send an email to TheRoseGarden21@aol.com
Waiting approved families are always given priority in meeting our dogs. If you are a brand new family it can take a bit until we find your new doggie so please be patient!

| Redman adopted!
Meet Redman, the most easy going happy "Class President " type of guy! He's a purebred, slight fox red sweetheart with his dew claws removed. Redman is a 6 year old 86 pound stunner, and never met a BALL he didn't adore! Don't be fooled by his age...this is one healthy energetic dog!
His face sometimes gets that furrowed brow and dopey smile that make us smile too! You can SEE his soul when you look into his eyes!
Redman was turned over to a high kill shelter when he was impounded with his Great Dane sibling and his mom could not afford their bail! He was obviously loved and care for with a healthy coat and superior temperament.
This guy would like a home with jugglers! If you throw 3 balls out at
once he flies around retrieving all 3 in his mouth and returns them to
your feet!
Although he doesn't play with other dogs as many ball dogs past puppyhood don't, he is terrific with all other dogs. When people visit and pet him he sorta melts into a puddle of relaxation. First he closes his eyes while smiling and then slowly sinks to the floor! He has numerous antics that are very charming! This guy is so nice its going to be a super lucky family that takes him home.
We think Redmond would like another companion dog as well as some kids old enough to throw a ball for him! He carries his ball around the house too and will drop it at your feet, so his foster mom simply puts the ball away if it is not time to play ball and he is ok with that. But he sure looks adorable with the ball in his mouth!
He is non destructive and completely potty trained! This gentleman does not even try to get up on the furniture. He is easy to walk, east to bathe, and really easy to love! He likes to follow his foster mom around and has the good sense to watch her from
outside the kitchen rather than being underfoot like her own dogs! He smiles while riding in the car and prefers a window seat with the window cracked!
Redmond also enjoys shredding a plush toy and having fun trying to remove the squeaker. We see this one a lot with the Labbies! There are also a line of TUFF TOYS that would be nice for him. Since his foster mom doesn't have room to adopt a third dog, this might be your lucky day!
Redman would like an active family that gives him his ball fix daily! He's also the kind of dog that will be a boon for lots of kids and all their friends who want to love on him! He has the softest coat and the biggest heart! He just had a bath before his pictures were snapped, so although we all look better with dry hair than wet...you can still see how adorable he is!
Redmond is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and housebroken, this fabulous lover deserves the very best home! Please send a note after you are homechecked and approved to TheRoseGarden21@aol.com

| Baloo adoption pending!
Meet gentle giant Baloo! He's a STUNNING purebred Blue Weimaraner with a huge heart and the abolsolute sweetest disposition. At 85 lbs he is just about the perfect weight for his breed standard and honestly they just don't come more beautiful than this boy. Baloo came into a shelter the week before Christmas with his friend Mowgli. (You can see the boys together on their bed in the photos.) They were strays together when they were picked up and we are certain they are from the same home. They are both well mannered, well taken care of, and had clearly been someone's beloved pets. We were shocked to find out that their owners never came for them, so we stepped up and took them into foster on the first day we could. We would LOVE to place these 2 "brothers" together, although we recognize that it will be difficult, so we will consider splitting them up if a suitable home cannot be found for the 2 of them together.
If you are thinking about two dogs, you really couldn't do better than this trained, perfect pair of wonderful Weimaraners. They are simply put "perfection". Baloo is about 3 years old and loves attention. He has a very calm attitude and enjoys to always be at your side. Ever since Baloo has been in his foster home, he continues to grow more and more warm hearted. He truly loves all people and other animals even the kitties he is fostered with.
Baloo is a well trained boy who knows "sit" and "down" and is very intelligent. He will pick up on other commands very easily as his only desire is to please his person and be a best friend. He enjoys playtime and being around myriad other dogs and he always has a kind, submissive nature about him.
Baloo settles BEAUTIFULLY in the home and he rides well in the car so could easily accompany you on trips riding quietly and calmly. Baloo loves snuggling and curling up by your side, he's never shy and always has a happy wag to his tail. He is an extremely well-adjusted dog who has been well socialized and led a charmed life somewhere.
Like most Weimaraner's, Baloo is very passionate about his people and needs a family who won't leave him all alone for long hours by himself if he is to be an only dog. He would do great with another canine companion around the house for company and if he is adopted with his friend Mowgli, they will do fine together keeping company while you are at work. Baloo does great outdoors for long walks and would enjoy trips to the dog park too! He is the perfect mix of fun active dog when you want, and mellow calm companion when you just want a buddy to hang out with watching a movie. Baloo will be an amazing best friend and will really love his family. He is truly the perfect family dog.
Baloo will do fine with children as well, though he is a large boy and we prefer not to place him with tiny toddlers as they can easily be knocked over without him intending to do so.
If you have kitties, this boy is a great choice. He is gentle with them and pretty much ignores kitties. Baloo is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
If you think you have the perfect home for Baloo, please fill out an application on our web site FIRST and then send an email to his foster mom at IndiWeimGirl@aol.com to find out when you can meet him!

| Mowgli adoption pending!
Say hello to Mowgli! Mowgli is an adorable purebred male Weimaraner, with a silky silver coat. He's between 1-2 years old and loves playtime and walks. Actually this boy just loves life. He's a happy sweetheart and pure joy to have in his foster home.
He's a sweet energetic boy, who also loves being at your side - the perfect mix of fun playful pup and easy companion. He is on the smaller side for a male Weimaraner, at 61 lbs and he could stand to put on a few pounds after a semi-long stay at the shelter waiting for his family to claim him. Being worried about where his family was likely caused him to lose some weight. He is already starting to put weight on after just a few days in his foster home and it's nice to see him so happy and eating so well. Mowgli came into a shelter the week before Christmas with his sweet friend Baloo. The dogs were clearly from the same home and are friends.
If you are looking for two dogs, you couldn't do much better than Mowgli and Baloo. They get along beautifully and even share the same bed (see photo!) But we do think Mowgli will be fine split from Baloo as well. So long as he gets time with other friendly dogs. He's an active youngster and loves to chase the ball so he's a fun guy, but he also as a very calm, gentle side and loves snuggling. Mowgli has clearly had some training and is as smart as a whip, so he has room to learn a bunch of tricks. If you wanted to, you could teach this boy almost anything. He wants to please and is motivated to learn.
Mowgli is house trained and a good boy in the house. He is being fostered with several other Weims, and gets along perfectly with everyone. He is sweet and submissive and just doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. Mowgli needs a family with someone home most of the time because like most Weims, he will bond with his family very quickly, and won't like being left alone for long periods of time without another canine companion. He is a beautiful boy and would make a great member to any family. Mowgli loves running around in the backyard and playing with his foster friends. And he is very good with kitties as well. Like any young dog, Mowgli will need good daily walks and a trip to the dog park a couple times a week would sure make him happy! No one should adopt a young active and happy dog if they are not prepared to provide lots of exercise and stimulation. Another playful friendly canine companion would be great fun for this submissive playful boy.
Mowgli is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and microchipped. All he needs is the best ever home, so if you think you can give Mowgli the home that he deserves, please email his foster mom at IndiWeimGirl@aol.com after completing an application to adopt.

| Wilma adopted!
This is Wilma our sweet beautiful girl. Wilma is an approximately 4 year old purebred black female Labrador with the most lovely temperament and most beautiful heart.
Wilma's story is so sad for such a wonderful Labby girl. Her owners bred her to have purebred puppies to sell and afterward dumped her in a very high kill shelter saying they didn't want her anymore. They did not even bother to state her name or age. Simply dropped her off. She was infested with fleas from head to toe to the point that she had developed severe flea dermatitis and lost much of her fur on her back and back legs. In addition she had a horrible ear infection and was depressed and confused. It was beyond heartbreaking.
When a volunteer made us aware of Wilma's story we felt so sad for her and went to see her immediately. We met a beautiful purebred Lab who wanted nothing but love from us. There was no question Wilma would come home with us then and there and we feel so lucky to have found her.
Wilma has since been treated for all her ailments and is a healthy girl. She will take some time to grow back all the fur on her back but her coat is beautiful and shiny and she is happy as can be.
Wilma loves life. She loves all dogs and all people and is lovely with children. She has the best heart and is a true Labrador through and through.
She loves her beds and will often go choose a bed to settle on while she watches you do things. She loves to be with her person, but she is not overly needy. She just likes to be close to where you are.
Wilma walks beautifully on the leash and passes all other dogs nicely. She likes to greet people and love to sniff everything.
Wilma is a medium energy calm girl. She loves her walks and needs her daily exercise, but she is a very calm girl who settles in the house wonderfully. She is not destructive and is completely housebroken. She enjoys her bullysticks and will chew on one for a bit and then leave it for later.
She does not try to get on the furniture either. She has lovely house manners. We think at one time in her life she was a loved dog because she has no signs of abuse. Her sad story must have happened either with another family who took her on and neglected her, or perhaps her family simply no longer cared and only wanted her to breed.
This is why is it so important to never buy a puppy from craigslist or breeders unless you are going to a top notch reputable life long breeder and those puppies are very expensive. If you are paying less than $800 for a Labrador puppy, you are supporting this kind of cruelty. Many well meaning families don't realize this.
Wilma is so grateful and so loving. We think she is a prize for that family fortunate enough to be blessed with her as their forever Lab.
She won't be her prettiest for another month or so, but she is well on her way and the vet says she will do very well. And anyway who cares? Just look at those eyes? They say it all. This is a beautiful girl inside and out.
Wilma is cat curious. She did wonderfully with the cat she has been staying with. But there were several times she chased kitty. We do not think she would every hurt a cat, but only families with VERY dog savvy cats, or families who are savvy about this situation will be considered.
Wilma will do fine with another friendly gentle and loving canine companion. She loves to kiss other dogs. She is semi playful but not super playful. She really just enjoys their company. She may become more playful in time though because as she settles in she is getting more and more happy and wiggly.
Wilma is not jumpy or mouthy at all making her a good candidate for families with children.
Wilma is spayed, up to date on vaccines, wormed, current on flea control, and microchipped.

| Chico adopted!
Meet Chico, an adorable purebred male Labrador of just about 2-3 years. This yellow boy is beautiful with a gorgeous yellow coat and nice blocky head. We especially love his face with that dopey expression. It's very hard not to fall in love with Chico.
Chico is a wonderful Lab with superior temperament. He has all the things we look for in our dogs. He is wonderful with people and lovely with all other dogs. He gets along beautifully with several other Labbies he is fostered with - seniors, adults, males and females alike.
Chico came to us from a very high kill shelter in Riverside County where he was in immediately danger. When our volunteer met Chico she could see he was a prize. Because Chico came into the shelter with a microchip, he was place on a mandatory 10 day holding period. During this time he became depressed and would not eat. Because of this Chico lost quite a bit of weight. But they day he came home with us, he was wiggly happy and we are pleased to say Chico is eating well and gaining his weight back!
Chico loves the ball and dog toys. True to his breed he is an excellent retriever and is good about returning the ball to his master. He enjoys playing with his toys but is not destructive in the house.
Chico is totally housebroken and settles beautifully in the home. But he is also a lot of fun to take out and hike with. So he does have a nice mix of fun energy and calmness. At times he can be quite the puppy too!
Chico is not mouthy nor is he a big jumper so he will do great with kids though we would still be concerned about placing any large Lab with toddlers as any Lab can knock a toddler down without meaning to.
Chico is slightly on the submissive side and gets along wonderfully with all other dogs. He would love to have a canine companion to keep company with if you are gone during the day and would certainly love a doggie door to come in and out. He will also do nicely as your one and only.
Chico rides beautifully in the car as if he has been doing it all his life. He is a good boy and lies down calmly for the ride.
Chico is not 100% trustworthy off leash yet. He may wander off looking around so his new owners will want to totally bond with him before doing off leash hikes. But he is lovely at the door and does not try to bolt out..
Chico will need to have some good food and time to get all his weight back on. He really should be an 80 - 85 lb Lab but is currently at only about 70 lbs. Because he is eating so well and settling in so nicely it will be easy to get Chico's weight back up. He will look stunning when he fills out a bit.
Chico is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines and flea control, wormed, and microchipped.
If you feel this boy is right for your family, please be sure to complete an application to adopt. Remember you must be homechecked and approved to meet any of our Labs so what are you waiting for?
To learn more about Chico once you have completed an application, please email kwexman@mac.com

| Lucille adopted!
Meet Lucille - a white female Labrador of 2 years. She is cute, sweet, loving, and calm! She is on the tall side for a female lab and she is about 80 pounds. She is full grown, at a good weight, and has a soft, lovely coat!
Lucille was turned into the shelter by an owner who lost their home and could no longer keep her. We immediately rescued her to help her find the best forever home!
Lucille is just fabulous in so many ways! At only 2 years old, she is quite a calm and mellow girl. She loves her daily walks - and does great on leash - keeping perfect pace with you and no pulling. Yet after a morning walk, she will settle down well in the house to rest. She is not jumpy or mouthy at all, so we think she would make a good choice for a family with kids. She knows her commands of sit and down and she will take treats gently as well! She is obedient - listening when you correct her with a no, and never trying to counter surf at all. However, since she is a tall girl, her nose has a good reach to the counter and as any Lab, if you leave food out, you might find her taking advantage of the situation - oops! Lucille loves all people and all doggies. And she is great with kitties too! So if you have a cats in your home, Lucille is a great choice - she basically ignores them. She is as sweet as they come greeting every person she meets with a smile and wag - just asking to be pet.
Lucille does very well in the car, although she might need some coaxing or assistance getting in... once in, she sits or lies down nicely and enjoys the ride.
She sleeps nicely on a dog bed in your room, although she would much prefer your bed if you allow her on it! She has taken to a few dog bones around the house, but hasn't shown much interest in squeaky toys or playing fetch... she much prefers snuggling with you.
Lucille does pretty well off leash. The same day we got her, she was already following us around in the dog park - staying close by and checking in often. She bonded quickly to her foster and we are certain she will bond very quickly to her new family as well.
Lucille is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped!
If you feel Lucille is right for you and you have already completed your application and homecheck, please email IndiLabGirl@gmail.com

| Wynona adopted!
Meet calm gentle Wynona, the cutest, sweetest little female 1 year old Lab. She is a pretty little thing at just about 60 lbs and has the most shiny beautiful coat and most lovely temperament.
Wynona (Winnie) is just amazing for a 1 year old Lab. She is so calm, and so beautifully behaved for her age! Most 1 year olds are not as easy, but this girl is truly special and is a gentle as a lamb. She is a very special Lab.
Winnie is a great candidate for families with toddlers, little children and even kitties. Her calm gentle nature is just perfect and she is not mouthy at all.
Winnie is lovely with all dog and people. Her foster dad even has horses and peacocks and she is wonderful with them.
She is lovely on leash and passes all other dogs nicely. She is well socialized and loves to greet people and say hello with a nice submissive low tail wag.
Winnie came to us from a very high kill Los Angeles shelter where her life was in danger. Our volunteers went to visit other dogs not even knowing Winnie was there, but when our attention was called to her it was in seconds that we had her out to see how she did. Needless to say, Winnie came home with us.
She is a lovely girl in the car and rides calmly and nicely enjoying the ride. She is the perfect dog to take to work because she is so easy and friendly and would lay by your feet while you work.
She loves her beds scattered throughout the house and though she likes to be by your side, if you are busy, she will lay on her bed nicely.
Winnie is a young medium energy girl. She needs her daily exercise but is not at all a high energy dog. She loves her walks but more than anything loves to be with her person.
Winnie will do best in a home where someone is around a lot of the time or where she will have another friendly canine companion. She would love to be a dog that can go to work with her person if someone like that was interested in meeting her.
She will do beautifully with children and cats and is a good choice for homes with both.
Winnie would make an excellent candidate to be a therapy dog as well.
Winnie is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She still needs to be spayed and must be brought back to one of our vets for her spay procedure at our expense.
If you are looking for a calm and lovely mannered Labrador who is extremely loving than Winnie is the girl for you.
Please shoot an email to IndiWeimGirl@aol.com after you have completed your application and homecheck.

| Little Fella adopted!
Meet Fella, a classically drop dead adorable purebred Weimaraner puppy of just 12 weeks. This little guy is the cutest thing in the world and he is looking for a loving forever home.
Fella is just another example of a family that had zero idea what they were doing when they purchased him from a breeder. He was cute so they bought him. Bad idea. They thought they could take him home and put him out in the yard and he would take care of himself. You have to wonder what is WRONG with people.
Thank goodness we got to this boy before he was given away in the Bakersfield area or worse, brought to the shelter there - the highest kill shelter in all of California.
We scooped this boy up immediately and got him to a warm safe place and cleaned him up. He is safe, happy and no doubt thrilled to be getting the attention every puppy deserves. After all he is a baby!
Fella is a sweet boy with extremely calm temperament. He really looks to you and wants to learn and please. He will be a GREAT dog!
Puppies require at least one person to be home most of the time. They simply cannot be left alone for long periods until they are a bit older.
They require a firm and well thought out commitment to puppy ownership for the life of the dog. Please do not apply for a puppy if you cannot promise this.
All puppy families must have a safe and secure crate to keep puppy safe in the home if you must go out or cannot watch them and to assist with housebreaking although this boy is well on his way in this department.
Fella is healthy, up to date on vaccines and his new family must renew his vaccines in a couple of weeks. A neuter deposit is required.
If you feel this little "Fella" is the guy for you, please be sure to complete an application to adopt and follow up with an email to IndiWeimGirl@aol.com

| Hank adopted!
Hank is a stunning purebred male Weimaraner of 5 years with tons of training and perfect temperament and behavior. This boy is a gem in wonderful heath and with the most loving personality ever.
Hank is athletic but still calm and easy. He's the perfect mix for an active family that wants a really good dog they can hike with but also a dog that is a very good boy in the house.
This dog is just perfect and this is why it was so hard for him family to bring him to us. He came to us because of a tragedy in his family which meant they could not take care of Hank anymore. We promised them we would find Hank only the very best home. And for a dog this spectacular, that shouldn't be too hard.
Hank has been in the same home since he was a tiny puppy, and has now lost the only family he every knew. Hank has been well taken care of and loved for every minute of his life, and it is very apparent in his overall excellent health, good weight, shiny teeth and sleek silver coat.
Hank is a lover who just wants to be loved back. He is in a foster home with many other doggies, of all ages and sizes, and he gets along so well with everyone!
Hank is very much a social dog. He has been around other dogs and people his whole life. He is perfectly house trained and will prompt us when he has to go potty as well as when he is hungry and thirsty. He is an excellent communicator with his person.
He is really good when it's time for his bath too. He just sits there and enjoys the attention being a very good boy.
What is really so impressive is that this well trained boy knows tons of commands: sit, shake, kisses, treat, chew, bone, potty, dog park, walk, go to bed, go take a shower, get down, lay down (with a finger pointing down), go bye bye, and a couple more. And when you say "sit" he plops down so fast it makes your head spin. This is a dog that loves to please his person.
Hank is wonderfully behaved in the house as well in all other situations. He is non-destructive and really just pure pleasure to have in the home.
Hank is looking for a family who has love to give. He would be fine with another canine companion, or as an only dog, as long as the family can give him lots of love and attention. He is till a young dog and needs a good daily walk or dog park outing making him the perfect mix of moderate and happy energy and mellow easy boy.
Hank is too large for toddlers but is fine for older children. We don't know about cats but we can find out if needed.
Hank came to us already neutered and is up to date on vaccines and is microchipped.
If you think you are the right family for Hank, send an email to IndiWeimGirl@aol.com to set up a time to meet him. Remember, you need to have an application on file and a home visit completed first!

| Mayhem adopted!
Meet Mayhem, an cuddly adorable exactly 1/2 Weimaraner, 1/2 Labrador puppy!
This little guy is just the best 14 week old puppy around. With his shiny black velvet coat, wrinkly Labby head and ears, and his darling little docked Weimaraner tail, he is a show stopper. But good looks are just the beginning with this smart little fellow. He is going to be a great dog.
Mayhem came to us when his family dumped an accidental breeding litter between their Labrador and Weimaraner. We suppose they did the tail docking in the hopes the puppies would look more like Weimaraners, but alas, they look pretty Labby too which is A-Ok with us! I suppose they couldn't sell them so they decided to dump the entire litter at a horrible high kill shelter.
Luckily we were there and on it. And here we are with Mayhem the best puppy in the whole world.
This little guy is smart and eager to learn. He is already almost totally housebroken and crate trained.
Mayhem is fostered with a male Labrador and a female Golden who are teaching him the ropes. He sure loves them! And he is in a home with 2 little girls who handle him constantly teaching him how nice it is to be loved by humans. So this guys is getting all the perfect puppy socialization he needs in his foster home.
Mayhem loves everyone and everything. He is a very healthy happy puppy who is looking for his forever family.
Mayhem is just a little man now, so he really needs a home where someone is around much of the time to take care of him. He is still too young to be left on his own but will be fine for a couple of hours safely in his crate.
Mayhem sleeps through the night and is doing amazingly well on housetraining. He has an eager desire to learn and please and looks to his person for direction. With this kind of temperament, we know Mayhem will be a really great adult dog for that family lucky enough to call him their own.
Mayhem is up to date on puppy shots and doing great. His new home will need to repeat his final round of puppy vaccines.
If you feel you have the time and commitment this loving little man requires and you are ready to open your heart to a puppy, please be sure to complete an application on our website and follow up with an email to susie.rivera@gmail.com

| Torrey adopted!
Meet Torrey, a darling Labrador puppy of 13 weeks who is adorable, loving, and looking for a new forever home!
Torry is a velvet black female Lab with the sweetest face and eyes she is so sweet and deserve only the best homes.
Torrey came to us from a high kill Riverside County shelter where she was in immediate danger. Thankfully she is safe sound, clean and healthy. And she is loving life in their new foster home!
Puppies need committed homes where at least one person is home during the work day. They cannot have long hours alone.
Torry needs a family ready and willing to deal with puppyhood! A puppy homecheck and interview are required to meet this little sweetie.
Torry has been wormed. She is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Follow up vaccines are required for all puppies as is a spay/neuter.
She loves to romp around, play, chase and is really good at fetch. Torrey has been really good with potty outside, no accidents! She already knows how to use the doggy door, she lets a little whimper if she gets up which I'm right there to let her potty outside and be a good girl.
Torrey is excellent in the car on long rides including the freeway. She lies down and can even be left alone for a few. She is very familiar with the crate but loves to cuddle up and sleep with her foster mom at night. She will be a shadow dog and will follow you everywhere. She is so loving!
Torrey likes to lie down in the kitchen watching you cook or clean without begging.
She absolutely worships her big foster brother mimicking his every move, manners and habits. She is submissive yet knows how to play rough with her much bigger foster brother. I hope you have a window because her favorite thing to do is look out the window at watch the world :-) Torrey is going to make someone very happy.
If you feel Torrey is right for your family, please email lorisu1@pacbell.net

| Trapper adopted!
Meet Trapper, a gorgeous purebred male Weimaraner of just about 65 lbs and 2 years. This beautiful purebred Weimaraner is a lovely boy with outstanding sweet temperament who loves just everyone and every living thing.
He is wonderful with all dogs and kitties making him a great choice for families with both. And in true Weim fashion, he adores his people with all the love his doggie heart has.
This extremely loving and beautiful boy came to us from a very high kill shelter where we pulled him out virtually minutes before he was to be euthanized. When we met Trapper we knew both he AND we had won the lottery because he is that great. As we say time and time again, we can barely believe it when we rescue these dogs because they are that wonderful and Trapper in no exception. He is just pure perfection.
Someone sometime clearly loved this boy and provided some training. He knows his commands of sit, down, shake and even knows "roll over"!!!! Pretty cool!
He is a good boy on the leash and loves his walks. And he really loves going in the car too. He is a good boy in the car and rides nicely with the other dogs. He's a great travel buddy.
Terrific Trapper more than anything loves other doggies. He loves to play and plays so nicely and sweetly with all the other dogs. He is fostered with several other Weimaraners as well as a Lab and kitties. He especially loves to play with his Weimy foster brother Kodi. He likes to use his paws and almost "boxes" with the other dogs. It is so adorable you could sit and watch him play for hours.
Trapper is a happy and healthy boy of medium energy. He will do best in a home where he will get plenty of exercise and attention but his new family can be sure he will settle beautifully in the house after dog park or exercise.
Because he is a Weimaraner, he will likely do best in a home where his new owners aren't gone long hours unless he has another friendly canine companion to keep company with. He would love a friendly playful dog to be his best friend.
Trapper is a show stopper. I mean just look at him. It's hard not to hear many comments on his beauty and sweetness when you have him out. He is the kind of boy everyone wants to meet and pet and what is nice is that he is friendly and gentle enough to take anywhere and meet anyone.
He will do fine with older children but toddlers would be too small for this boy as he is still a bit of a wiggler. He is not mouthy nor is he a big jumper, but he will jump up once and awhile and this is not great for tiny tots. He responds to correction beautifully and immediately if he forgets and jumps up for attention.
This young purebred Weimaraner is a prize for that committed family lucky enough to become his new owners. We want only the best for this young boy as he is a treasure.
Trapper is healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines and will be microchipped. All that's left now is for this prince to go to the best most loving home and start his new life.
If you feel this guy is right for your family, and you have completed an application to adopt and been homechecked, please follow up with an email to his foster mom at IndiWeimGirl@aol.com

| Bolt adopted!
Meet Bolt, a cuddly adorable purebred male Weimaraner. Bolt is an AKC purebred Weimy pup and is the most darling sweet boy. Bolt came to us from a less than ideal breeding situation. Although we cannot comment on the particulars, he is very lucky to be with us in a safe and loving foster home.
Bolt is a healthy little guy who just loves every one and every dog. He is fostered with a few other dogs - Labs and Weims - and even cats so he is getting the most well rounded puppy socialization there is and is shaping up to be a very happy well adjusted pup.
Bolt is a very healthy boy who has received his first 2 sets of vaccines. He will require his 3rd and final round in 3 weeks.
Puppies
are a big commitment. Someone must be home much of the time for the
first couple of months and families must be ready for dealing with
puppyhood. Puppies require housebreaking, training, tons of attention,
and love.
Weims always do best with another dog in the household
as well. These guys would love a canine companion and even will do great
with kitties.
If you feel your family is ready to adopt a little
purebred Weimaraner boy, please be sure to complete an application and
follow up with an email to IndiWeimGirl@aol.com

| Myka adopted!
Meet Myka, a beautiful purebred AKC female 5 year old Labrador with the most gorgeous luxurious chocolate shiny coat.
Myka is about 70 lbs and is perfectly bred - just a stunningly beautiful Lab. She's Bench Bred (English bred) Labrador with a short stocky frame. She's a little on the chunky side, so she should lose about 5 pounds or so but she is pretty much the most adorable little girl.
This little girl is wonderful with all people, children, and other dogs. She gets along beautifully with all other dogs and has a great time at dog park greeting other dogs and on off leash hikes meeting other dogs on the trail too.
Myka is a very happy, wiggly, lover girl. She has plenty of energy but settles nicely in the house and is not destructive and 100% housebroken.
Myka came to us when her owner lost their home and could no longer keep her so they turned her into a high kill shelter - poor girl. We were notified immediately about this wonderful girl and took her home with us right away! She was a loved dog and well taken care of, but very sad her owner could no longer care for her. She was turned in with her friend, Meiko, who is also available for adoption. Although the Myka and Meiko get along beautifully, they are no so bonded that they must stay together, therefore they are both available for adoption separately. Myka loves doggie toys and dog bones too. She might even pick up a shoe of yours and walk away with it... she's sneaky like that. But she's not destructive around the house - even if she enjoys tearing up a doggie toy - what fun.
She does enjoy sleeping on the bed and hanging out on the couch, but we are certain she could be trained not to be on the furniture if that's what you desire. She has a true Labby temperament - a wiggly, happy girl who is thrilled to meet & greet everyone!
She can be jumpy, and is known to counter surf - both habits her foster mom is working to break, but she will need some continued work.
She loves her walks & might even enjoy jogging with you. However, she does pull on the leash, so she is more comfortably walked with training collar like a pinch collar or gentle leader. Myka will do best in a home where she will get good daily exercise - she loves her hikes, and long walks are great too. She will do fine with children including toddlers, but keep in mind she is a wiggler and could easily knock a toddler down. She's not much for playing with other dogs, so although she would make a great doggie companion, she will likely not be a playful companion to another dog. She would also do great as your one and only girl. Myka does not do so well with kitties, so we will not look to place her in a home with cats. Myka is healthy, spayed, up to date on vaccines, and current on flea control.
If you think Myka is the girl for you, please submit an application to adopt and send an email to IndiLabGirl@gmail.com

| Bree adopted
Meet Bree, the sweetest, most darling female lab who is a very gentle and calm girl. This 2-3 year old yellow lab is 60 pounds and is a lovely combination of playful energy and nice indoor mellowness. She has a cute, innocent face & lovely brown eyes, and the softest coat ever!
Bree is a very submissive girl who loves to lay her head in your lap and be close to you in the sweetest calmest way without being bothersome. She is such an easy to love girl. There is a gentle sadness about her that makes you want to take her into your heart completely. Yet when she smiles at you, she lights up your whole world.
She is truly a treasure and is the kind of girl that makes us continue to do what we do. She is just that special. Bree is a medium energy mellow girl who needs her daily exercise as she is still a young Lab, but she is the perfect mix of fun and easy. She is a gentle girl who loves to be loved and pet. She will sit right up next to you just to get attention and nudge you with her nose when she wants more attention. She can be a little shy at first, but warms up well and likes to be near her person. Bree came to us from a high kill shelter were she was found as a stray and we rescued her just in time. Hard to believe she ended up at a shelter, because she is just a treasure to have as a pet! Unreal that a dog this amazing ended up there.
Bree walks pretty well on leash - no pinch collar needed. She walks right next to you, and if she gets the slightest bit ahead, she responds very well to a light, quick correction.
Bree settles beautifully in the house after she has had her exercise. She likes to be close to you and nap at your feet or on her favorite dog bed! Brie has not attempted to get on any furniture such as the bed or couch, so it's likely her previous family taught her not to. Bree is good with other dogs both big and small. She would do great as an only dog or with another playful doggie companion. She is currently fostered with another female lab of 7 years old and a young 6 month old puppy and they get along great. She is a very good girl in the car, just laying down and curling up while you drive. Bree is completely housebroken and very well mannered in the house and outside. She will do great in a home where she will get daily exercise - walks, hikes, and trips to dog park are all great for her. Bree eats well like any lab, but she is not overly food driven. She takes treats very gently - such a good girl. She loves her doggie toys - especially dog bones and soft squeaky toys, so having nylabones and squeaky toys in her new home is a must!
She will do well with children though keep in mind, any playful lab can knock over toddlers. Bree is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped & ready for her new home!
If you think she is the girl for you, please email IndiLabGirl@gmail.com

| Chanel adopted!
Meet Chanel, a
darling English AKC purebred female chocolate Lab of 6 years with a
GORGEOUS block head and stocky English body. This girl is sweetness
personified and just a doll baby in every way. She has her AKC papers which will be provided to her new adopter.
Chanel is a beautiful dog. We seldom see female Labs with a head this beautiful and she has wonderful conformation. She is a show stopper of Lab beauty.
She is a very mellow easy going girl who needs very moderate exercise and is a true cuddler and best friend. Chanel is overweight right now and suffers from a bit of arthritis. As she loses weight this will dramatically improve.
Chanel came to us when her owners lost their home. She grew up in a home with children and does very well with children. Her family was devastated turning her over to rescue as she was very loved. We promised them we would find her only the very best home.
Chanel
came to us a little chubby. Needless to say we have been keeping Chanel
on a diet and she has shed quite a few lbs. She should be 85 lbs at her
healthy weight and is about 90 lbs now. So a continued diet and her
daily walks are a must for her new family. Chanel will shed her excess
weight in no time… she is a very healthy girl.
Chanel is a
beautiful dog. She has a deep dark chocolate coat and a giant blocky
head which we love. She is great with all other dogs, but she is indeed a
princess and sometimes tries to get all the attention. She does
beautifully at the dog park and dog beach as she has a lovely
temperament.
Chanel is an easy, gentle, mellow girl of very
moderate energy. After her daily walks, she will settle just beautifully
in the house and take nice, long naps. She is non destructive and
trustworthy and loves her chew toys and balls. She will be a lovely
companion to a family that is willing to give her the attention and love
she has been waiting for.
Chanel is quite the wiggler. She will wiggle her booty with joy and she is just adorable in every way.
Chanel
is a bit too curious about cats and chases after her foster mommy’s cat
every change she gets. For this reason, we will not place her in a
home with kitties
This adorable girl is very smart and already
knows the sit, down and stay command. In fact, when her foster
mommy gives her the down command, she goes down nicely and is ready for a
belly rub. She absolutely LOVES belly rubs….Chanel is very loving and loves people. She adores her people. She will follow you around
the house like a shadow and will sit next to you calmly like a faithful friend. She is learning how to walk nicely on a leash next
to her person and enjoys her walks. However, she still needs some
reinforcement to be perfect. But she is doing GREAT! Chanel is house trained and uses the doggy door.
This calm and loving sweetheart is healthy, up to date on vaccines and micro chipped.
If you feel Chanel is right for you, please complete an application to adopt and follow up with an email to nmchristopher@gmail.com

| Maya 2 adopted!
Say HELLO to Miss Maya, an EXTRA LARGE BEAUTY QUEEN of IMMENSE HEART and AMAZING CALMNESS! Maya is an AKC purebred English Labrador of 2 years. She was a Southern Belle, born in Georgia and has all the fancy etiquette that goes along with such a regal lineage! She was raised with 3 children and an older dominant American Bulldog. She grew up in her mom's shadow and will love to be near the lady of the house! We have not often seen such a generosity of SPIRIT in a dog so young. While 4 children were running around and screaming and pounding on a piano at her foster home...she plopped right down in the middle, rolled on her back, put her front paws straight up in the air while stretching out her back legs like a little frog, closed her eyes and smiled....it was the most charming way to ASK for a BELLY RUB...several of us had to oblige! Maya loves playing with her darling WACK-A-DOO 4 yo English foster brother Mac, and had a calming influence on him in the first 48 hours after she arrived! They box and hug while sitting down facing each other in the house and love playing tug-o-war and running in the orchard or swimming in the pool! She walks nicely on leash, is very attentive to her person, polite and sweet, relaxing easily at your feet Maya is truly a gentle perfect girl. Her only naughty habit is counter surfing, where in her original home could snag a few snacks now and then, hence her tubbiness! But with food put away, Maya will be a very good girl. A proper grain free diet enhanced with veggies and some low impact form of exercise is what she needs to safely trim down to about 90-95 pounds! She will be a big beautiful girl even when she is at her perfect weight! Maya deserves a family committed to her diet that includes a stay at home mom, some kids and a pool! Another friendly medium to large size dog would complete the perfect package for this perfect darling girl! Maya will be 3 around Valentines Day, so we think she was born under the SIGN of the SWEETHEART! Pool lounging rowdy kids, stay at home moms..and active folks committed to her extreme makeover will be considered to meet Maya the Marvelous!
If you are homechecked and approved, please send your note of interest to TheRoseGarden21@aol.com

Oscar adopted!
Meet Oscar! Oscar is a very handsome purebred English or bench bred yellow Labrador of about 2 years. He has a beautiful honey color and a nice black nose. He is just the best looking boy.
The coolest thing about Oscar's looks in the darling ridge down the center of his nose. It's just adorable and adds to his sweet expression.
This stocky blockhead is just the happiest boy who just loves life and everything in it! He is wonderful with all dogs and all people and enjoys having a good time.
Oscar is a medium energy purebred who loves his walks and exercise, but settles down very nicely in the house. He's a pretty good boy on leash, but he's also a bit of a tank and can pull on the leash when he wants to. The good news is he does beautifully on a pinch collar and in a bit of time will do fine without one.
Oscar is a good candidate for dog park and dog beach where he would really enjoy time out and about making friends and doing fun stuff.
He absolutely loves going in the car and hops right in. Once in he rides nicely. He loves to go for rides.
Oscar is a typical Labrador who loves to be with his person. We think he would love to go to a home where he won't need to spend long days alone because he really enjoys attention and companionship.
He will do great with another friendly canine companion and would also do well as an only dog.
We found Oscar in a high kill Los Angeles shelter where he was in immediate danger of euthanasia. Just looking at this stunningly beautiful purebred it's a little hard to believe that he ended up there in the first place. When you consider how wonderful his temperament is, it's even more unbelievable.
Oscar loved our volunteer when we went to see him. He's basically a calm boy and just loved putting his head on our volunteer's lab. It wasn't hard to make the decision to take Oscar into our program and he sure is happy to be in a loving foster home.
Oscar is fostered with two other Labradors - a 3 year old female and a 9 year old senior female and he is wonderful with both of them.
He loves his foster Dad and loves laying by his feet or snuggling with him.
This boy is a nice medium energy well settled guy. He will do find with children though we prefer not to place him with toddlers as his wiggles may knock them down.
We do not know how Oscar will do with kitties so we will not place him in a home with cats.
Oscar is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
If you feel this stunning Labrador is right for your family, and you have completed an application and had your homecheck, please send an email to IndiLabGirl@gmail.com

Indio adopted!
This is Indio, the most beautiful, exceptional chocolate boy around - at least in his foster mom's opinion! Indio is a purebred large chocolate male Labrador of about 5 years. He is underweight at 75 lbs. He really should be closer to 85 lbs at his ideal weight. His dew claws have been removed so we suppose he is an AKC breeder bred boy.
Indio has a stunning large blocky Labrador head that is to die for. His gorgeous face, big cat like paws, and gentle expression complete his look. This boy is adorable in absolutely every way but his looks are just the beginning with this guy. The real treat with indio is his exception personality. He is truly wonderful.
Indio came to us from a high kill shelter. His story is pretty sad. He was actually turned into the shelter by his owners when they lost their home. They turned in 4 chocolate Labs, all of whom we took into rescue - one being as perfect as the next. From what we can gather, we believe that Indio and a female Maya (already adopted) had a litter and the owners kept 2 of their pups Roxy (already adopted) and Kofy (available soon).
Roxy was incredibly attached to Maya who we believe was her mother and Kofy is equally attached to Indio who we believe is his sire. We would love to have Kofy and Indio adopted into the same home, but so far they are doing very well apart in separate foster homes so we do believe they will also do fine adopted separately.
Indio is a big gentle giant. He is wonderful with all other dogs and all people and he is also great with kitties so a good choice for families with cats.
This gentle boy IS large though so no families with kids under the age of 7 for Indio.
Indio is still a young boy of medium energy who definitely needs a nice good 1 hr walk a day. But he is also very, very mellow, settling beautifully in the house and loving to be right by his persons side. He is a cuddly lover who would love to crawl in your lap if he were able. He loves to give you his paw and look into your eyes and when he does, your heart just melts. He is just that charming.
Indio will do fine with another friendly canine companion. Of course if he is adopted with his 3-4 year old son Kofy, perfection is just part of the package for those looking to add 2 dogs to their family. We prefer not to place him as an only dog if he is to be completely alone for very long hours though will will consider families who use a dog walker during the work day.
He knows his basic commands of sit, down and stay but he is not perfect with any of them. He just needs a little refresher using healthy treats as he is very treat motivated.
For a big boy, Indio doesn't pull that hard on the leash. He does pull a bit for sure, but he is easily corrected and honestly just needs a little more practice being walked to be perfect. Actually by the time he is adopted, he probably will be perfect as his foster mom works with him.
He is a very mellow and settled dog in the house after his exercise. He is calm in his crate and is a quiet boy.
Indio is a healthy boy who is just needs a little TLC: good food, a few more pounds, and time. He is currently suffering from a nasty ear infection which was neglected for too long. He is being treated and will be fine in no time.
This handsome boy is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
If you feel this love bug is right for you and you have completed an application and had your homecheck approval, please email his foster mom at donna@indilabrescue.org

| Maximus adopted!
Hubba Hubba, Maximus is one super duper handsome dude!!! Max is a stunning purebred English black male Labrador of 4-5 years with the looks and temperament of a champion Labrador. And he'll steal your heart to boot!
Maximus came to us from a very high kill Ventura County shelter where his life was in immediate danger. In fact the day we got him, he was already scheduled for euthanasia. And although you may think Max is the lucky one, we feel we are, because this boy is so wonderful. He has the show quality English good looks we adore! A big blocky head, a thick and bushy otter tail, and a luxuriously thick coat that's like a proverbial mink coat! He must have some spectacular breeding! The shelter listed Maximus as age 7 which we could clearly and immediately see he was not. It was stated that he had been an outdoor dog by the person who dumped him at the shelter though not much info was given. Although we don't know much about his previous home, we do know this boy has the superb gentle temperament we expect of our Labradors and to us this is all that matters.
His lovely energy is like a solid 4 year old and he adores playing with his 2 year old petite English foster sister in the photos with him. He adores meeting all kinds of dogs big or small and being off leash at the dog park and on trails, sticking close to his person and checking in frequently. He has had no potty accidents in the house and no marking, so we think he's either really smart or is just old enough to know right from wrong and wants to please.
Maximus has been sleeping in a crate at night and settles down beautifully. Maximus has a fatty lipoma on his front leg up close to the shoulder, but it doesn't seem to bother him at all. These are common in labs and unless they cause a problem they should not be removed.
He is as stout and adorable at 80 ish pounds and has a nice waistline, so unless you want to see him super thin for a possible modeling career, he should be fine as he is and enjoy his exercise with long walks and playtime at the beach or dogpark. This darling water baby kept jumping back into the tub after his bath and loves a bucket or a puddle as well. So if you have a pool, or are a frequent beach goer this happy boy will be smiling all day long! Someone is going to be really lucky to score this super nice handsome boy who is happy, healthy, UTD on shots and microchipped.
He already knows how to sit and wait for his food bowl. He'd like to learn a few more commands and bond with his person or family that might include some older children, as he is a bit of a tank..but then again he seems unphased by toddlers on the trail, like he's been around them all his life. Here is a lovely boy with a solid sweet temperament waiting to begin the best years of his life.
We haven't seen him with cats so we're not sure how he'd be, so we will not place him in a home with kitties.
If you are homechecked and approved, please drop a note of interest in this adorable bear cub to TheRoseGarden21@aol.com

| Nitro adopted!
Meet Nitro, a stunningly beautiful purebred AKC registered Black male Labrador Retriever of 6 years.
Nitro is a bench bred or "English" Lab and has a beautiful blocky head and a stocky body. He has a gorgeous shiny black coat and a beautiful kind face.
Nitro is the most loving and docile boy. He loves his people - actually all people, and he is perfect with all other dogs.
Nitro came to us when his loving owners lost their home and were forced due to the economy to give him up to rescue. He is a good boy who has been loved his whole life and now he is looking for a family to cherish him.
Nitro is a healthy boy who has gotten a bit chunky due to lack of exercise. His owners became very busy and he was not walked for quite awhile. Because of this he is a little chunky. But he absolutely loves his walks and with a good diet and lots of exercise he will be at perfect weight in no time.
Nitro came to us turned in with his sister Chanel who will also shortly be made available for adoption. She is a chocolate female of the same age.
Nitro will do best in a home with another friendly canine companion. He is used to being with his sister and won't do his best as an only dog. He absolutely loves his foster brother - a 3 year old male Lab and they get along beautifully.
Nitro also does wonderfully at dog park. He gets along perfectly with other dogs and has already made many friends.
Nitro is a low to medium energy boy who is very, very mellow. He is an easy going guy who love hanging out with his people. He will do great with children but no toddlers for this boy as he is large and may knock them over. Also he takes treats a little too enthusiastically for little ones. But he does love children and will do fine with toddler visitors.
Nitro has not been tested with cats so no kitties for Nitro.
His new family must be committed to helping him shed his extra pounds. This is very important for Labradors as extra weight is not good for their joints.
Nitro is calm in the house and settles beautifully. He is not destructive and not a chewer or digger.
Nirto loves going in the car, but he doesn't like getting into his foster dad's SUV as he has not had much exposure to going places in cars. He needs a bit of coaxing to get in. But he has been going everywhere and is learning that going in the car means having a great time so he is warming up very quickly.
If you feel your family is right for this beautiful loving boy, please complete an application to adopt and follow up with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Gigi adopted!
Gigi is a sweet mellow oh-so-lovely purebred female black Labrador. She has a shiny velvety wonderfully thick coat and a beautiful face.
Gigi is just about 3 years old and is about 70 lbs.
Gigi came to us with her littermate sister Eva also listed for adoption below. Although we will consider splitting the girls up for adoption, we will give first priority to those who will consider adopting them together as they are very bonded and are a perfect easy and mellow pair of girls who are pure joy together.
Gigi is a medium to lower energy Lab who loves her toys. She loves her walks and walks beautifully on the leash. She never pulls and can be walked on 1 finger even with her sister. Together they can be walked so easily.
Gigi is extremely calm in the house. She and her sister Eva love to be with their person and they move almost in unison. They love to lay on their bed together with their toys and are quiet and mellow.
Even though Gigi is a calm girl, she does have spunk. She can be very playful with her sister and her toys and she loves to go for her walks and to dog park. At dog park she enjoys meeting people and other dogs.
Gigi is an extremely gentle girl. However her one fault if you can call it that, is that she is very mouthy. Although she puts zero pressure with her mouthing she is simply not suited to toddlers or young children because of this. However she does loves children and other than being Labby mouthy, she is very, very gentle and calm. Her tail can be pulled, and she can be laid on. She is basically a bomb proof doggie.
Neither Gigi nor her sister Eva like to be alone for super long hours. In time they should be fine but it would be nice if someone was around more than not to start. Or if a dog walker could come by to visit in the very beginning.
Gigi is completely non destructive in the house.
Gigi loves everyone and every living thing. She is calm around the cats she is fostered with and gets along perfectly with her two foster Labrador male brothers and all other dogs she has met which have been many. She is wonderful with small dogs as well.
If you are looking for just a doll baby, Gigi may be the one. If adopted with her sister we think this would be perfection. If adopted alone, she probably should have another dog to keep company with since she has never been without her sister. Of course if you are home during the day, she could work as an only dog as well.
Gigi is healthy, spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.
If you feel Gigi or Gigi and Eva are a good fit for you, and you have completed an application to adopt, please send an email to their foster mom donna@indilabrescue.org
