| Blossom adopted!
Blossom is a darling 1 year old pale yellow Labby girl who is about as sweet as they come. This girl is on the petite smaller side at just 40 lbs and is a cute bundle of love. Blossom has the best temperament. She is a calmer girl but is also beautifully playful. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is very good about sharing toys and romping with them.
Even though she is young, Blossom is the perfect mix of mellow and playful. She is great for dog park or to play with another friendly canine companion but then will settle beautifully in the house at your feet or even in her crate. She is not a barker and settles quietly when crated. She also rides nicely in the car so she's great to take on errands or trips.
Because Blossom is on the smaller side and is not a jumpy girl, she is a good choice for families with children too although any Lab - even a petite girl like this - can knock a tiny toddler over. Blossom is still a young girl at only 1 year so she will do best in a home where someone will have the time for a younger Lab and where she will get plenty of dog park or dog beach and lots of nice walks. She just loves her toys - especially squeaky toys and is great about sharing them or giving them up to her person. Her new family should plan on getting lots of appropriate, safe and fun toys for this sweet little girl.
Seeing this pretty and darling Labby girl, it's hard to imagine that she came from a very high kill shelter where she was found as a stray. Needless to say, it took us only seconds to decide to take her home and she has been nothing but pure joy ever since!
Blossom is wonderful with all dogs, but she is very curious about kitties and will chase them so we will not be placing her in a home with cats. She is pretty good on the leash too and passes other dogs nicely. At times she can pull a bit, but at only 40 lbs, it's really not a big deal as she is very, very easy to control and correct. Plus she wants nothing more than to please her person!
Blossom is a healthy girl who is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

| Ryan adopted!
Meet Ryan, a darling yellow 2-3 year old male Labrador. This gentle mellow boy is just perfection in absolutely every way. Ryan is just about 65 lbs with a soft yellow coat and beautiful smiling face. He make the cutest faces and loves, loves, loves to carry a toy around.
This boy is just so special and will make the best family dog. He loves everyone and would be fabulous with children - even toddlers we think although any Labrador can knock a toddler over without meaning too. Ryan loves to retrieve a ball and will bring it right back for you to throw again. He is great at the dog park where he gets along perfectly with all dogs big and small. Because he is a submissive and calm boy with outstanding doggie manners, he is just excellent with all dogs and there is never a worry of a scuffle.
Ryan is very settled in the house and seems to know quite well what toys are his and which things are yours. He is trustworthy and well behaved. He is fostered with another male Labrador and they get along beautifully. Ryan is a medium energy dog. He's a young boy who will need his daily exercise, but he is calm too so he's really just the perfect mix everyone loves.
Ryan is the kind of dog you can take anywhere. He rides beautifully in the car and is a wonderful house guest so he can go with his new family to the beach, friends barbeques, and pretty much any activity as he is such a great dog who does well in almost any situation. He walks beautifully on the leash. He loves to meet and greet dogs and people and is a perfect gentleman. He doesn't pull much at all and walks nicely with you.
Ryan is a heathy boy who is totally housebroken. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered.

| Harry Potter adopted!
Meet Harry Potter, a stunningly beautiful purebred Labrador male of 1 year with a jet black shiny coat and an absolutely darling personality.Harry came to us from a high kill shelter and we just cannot believe we were so blessed to have this boy in our care.
Harry is a typical Labrador boy. He is happy and wiggly, loves everyone and being close to his person, and is the perfect mix of mellow easy going boy, and energetic playful guy. He has outstanding temperament and is mellow most of the time, with the occasional puppy bounciness.
Harry is not a destructive boy, but he is a youngster. He has been known to steel a shoe now and then and carry it about and out to the back yard. He has not destroyed any shoes however with the exception of a pair of flip flops. Needless to say, this boy may be mellow, but there is still enough puppy in him to keep the closet door closed and shoes put away!
Harry only wants to please. He sits on command, stays, waits, and goes outside when told. He is also learning to shake. Harry is wonderful with other dogs and even loves kitties. But he would actually like to play with kitties and is very curious so he should only be considered by kitty families with the most savvy of kitties and the patience to help him learn that kitties do not always want to play.
Harry will do best in a home with another friendly canine companion and would especially love a home where someone is around a lot of the time. He doesn't love being left alone, but does fine. But because he is still a youngster, he could get into a little trouble left for long hours. Harry respects a doggie gate in his foster home and is very respectful of obeying where he needs to stay when told.
Harry is housebroken and a very good boy. He will do best in a home looking for a dog with excellent temperamant who is on the calm side but also a home that understands that Harry is young and requires attention, time, patience and may BE a puppy at times.
Any young doggie can dig, chew, bark, or destroy things even if they don't do it all the time, so Harry's new home needs to be ready to provide LOTS of exercise, and put things like shoes, remotes, sunglasses, cell phones and other valuable items away and out of reach. Also young Harry should be provided lots of toys of his own so he has plenty of things to chew and play with that belong to him. Because Harry is so young he will need lots of dog park, dog beach, and walks. He is a good boy on the leash but is excited at first. Once you go a bit, he gets into step with you and walks very nicely.
We think Harry may have been "free fed" in his previous home because he likes to nibble his food and walk away. He is learning in a multi-dog household, he must eat all his food at one time and he is doing great.
Harry is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

| Tanner adopted!
Tanner is an adorable butterball and is just as sweet as can be. It's hard to believe that he came to us from the single most high kill shelter in all of California. He was mostly likely a day away from losing his life but now all he has to worry about is which soft bed to lay on and which toy to play with.
Tanner is a beautiful dog. He is a 3 year old sweetheart with a soft yellow coat and soulful eyes.
Tanner is a very mellow boy. He is super easy going and seems to love his sister and brother who he is being fostered with. He's a submissive boy and listens well.
He is proving to be very trustworthy when left alone in the house and will do well even as an only dog. He is house broken and knows his basic commands sit, stay and shake.
Tanner likes the ball and retrieving but he is not obsessed with it. He's a good boy in the car too! He walks nicely on the leash and does not pull. He loves his walks and is a great walking companion. He also does great at dog park and is friendly with the people and other dogs.
Tanner is a little too interested in kitties so we will not be placing him with cats. He is good with children, but prefers not to live with them. Roughhousing is stressful for him. He is lovely meeting children and having them visit. Tanner is a great watchdog. He will always let you know if someone is coming or in the yard. He tends to be a bit territorial over his yard in terms of strangers so he should be kept in the house on gardening or meter reading day.
At 3 years young, Tanner has many years of love to give to his new family that he is anxiously awaiting. Because he is a young boy, his new home will want to give him some nice outings and good daily exercise.
He's obedient, trustworthy, mellow and submissive. This boy deserves the most loving home. Tanner's non destructiveness and mellow temperament make him a great choice for a condominium dog as well or even an apartment. He especially loves woman. He really bonded to his foster.
He is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines and micro-chipped.

| Peaches 2 adopted!
Meet Peaches, the sweetest, most loving purebred Labrador to ever live.
Peaches is a darling purebred bench bred English Labrador of 5 years. She is a pretty yellow girl with a giant blocky head and a short stocky body. She is a beautifully bred Labrador who was used for breeding litters in her former life. Lucky for Peaches, she won't ever have to breed again.
Peaches is slightly overweight at about 90 lbs. She is a little chunkster who would be healthier at about 80 lbs and is on her way to losing weight through daily exercise and good nutrition. Peaches is currently on a raw diet but also is supplemented with grain free kibble.
Peaches is a very special girl. She is a submissive friendly doll who does perfectly with all dogs. She enjoys their company but is really mostly interested in her people. Peaches is not great with kitties though so no kitties for Peaches.
Peaches does pull on the leash. She is currently getting a good hour walk each morning and on some days goes to dog park. On her walks she pulls mainly in the beginning and then adjusts to your pace. She meets other doggies beautifully as she passes them.
At dog park, Peaches is mainly interested in greeting all the people that come. She visits each and every person to say hello. It's very hard to resist her charms, wiggles and adorable face so she ends up getting a ton of attention. Needless to say she loves dog park.
Peaches is an extremely velcro dog. She has to be with you all the time and loves to be by your side. Her new person or family should love a velcro dog because this is Peaches temperament.
Peaches is a medium energy slightly chunky girl. Her new family will need to commit to exercise each and every day to help her lose the rest of her weight and keep her energy at bay. She is not a high energy dog and is very settled in the house.
Peaches is trustworthy in the house and not destructive if you don't count remote controls. She seems to really like chewing on those, so they must be kept out of reach. Every now and then she enjoys a roll of toilet paper too. Other than this, she has been very trustworthy about items that are not hers.
Peaches loves to retrieve everything except a tennis ball. She will retrieve toys, ropes, even plastic bottles, but not so much a ball. She loves toys to carry around but she is not nuts for toys.
Peaches is housebroken and uses the doggie door to let herself out to potty. She likes the yard when you are outside with her. Otherwise she is totally a house dog and likes to lay on the couch in particular or even your bed.
This beautiful girl came to us from a high kill shelter. She had several mammary tumors which were removed when we spayed her and they were benign and present no additional threat to Peaches health. Peaches is now safely lump free and spayed and is as happy and healthy as ever. We also ran complete blood work on Peaches prior to her surgery and this confirms her good health!
Peaches will do best in a home where someone is around a lot or at the very least where there is another friendly submissive and sweet dog to keep company with. She is good with all dogs so even a little doggie would make a nice friend.
Because Peaches is not a big playmate type dog, she isn't the best choice for families looking for a playmate companion for another young playful dog.
Peaches is good with children and will do well with them because she is gentle. However she is a food nut and will absolutely use any opportunity to steel a snack from a child (or your sandwich if you leave it within reach!). She is not a counter surfer, mostly because she is too stocky and chunky to jump up on the counter.
Peaches is great off leash on hikes and comes on command. She is calm and lovely in the car and always stays in the back. Peaches is not a barker and her foster mom has never actually heard her bark. She is definitely not a watch dog unless you count watching food.
Peaches is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed.

| Torli adopted!
Meet Torli, our adorable little Chocolate female Labby mix puppy! This solid chocolate bunny is the cutest ever.
Do you imagine spending the summer months with your new puppy going to the dog park and on hikes? Would you like to spend some fantastic afternoons at the dog beach with your new sweet little girl dashing through the waves and running up and down the sand dunes? Do you imagine spending the warm days in your yard teaching a sweet little labby mix to be the perfect dog and forming a life-long bond with a her? Then this is your doggie right here! She’s waiting for you!
Torli is a chocolate girl with a very soft, fine coat. She’s only 19 pounds right now, and we think she’s about 13 weeks old as her puppy teeth just came in and they are still very small and sharp.
Torli came to us from a high kill shelter, and when she came into foster, she was so scared. She didn’t know what was going on, and we couldn’t imagine how anyone could leave this sweet little girl to be killed! She couldn’t understand it at all and used to hide under the bed at her new foster home. But a couple weeks of tender loving care have made all the difference. Torli is a sweet, loving girl now, who loves playing with her people and foster brother.
What a great puppy! She’s submissive with other dogs, and very responsive to corrections from her people and her doggy buds. She’s puppy teething but not mouthy other than this. We fully expect that with proper care and discipline, she will completely outgrow her mouthiness She doesn’t jump in greeting, but she does puppy bounce! She’s got puppy energy now but our best guess says she’ll be a medium energy girl as a adult. Even now, she settles nicely in the house after her exercise. She’s a relaxed, happy girl and when she comes in, she likes to give kisses then lie down wherever you are.
She’s not destructive in the house or a barker. She’s doing great with her house-training and uses the dog door. She’s a good girl, not wanting to get on the furniture, even though that’s completely allowed at her foster home. She likes to get up on the bed and say good night with lots of puppy kisses then she gets off and sleep on the floor. On her back! It’s the sweetest thing and shows what a lovely, trusting and happy disposition she has.
Torli-girl loves her toys! She has two toy boxes at her foster home and she likes to take all the toys out and “re-organize” them. She loves the squeaker toys now that she’s figured out how to make them noisy! She’ll follow a ball in your hand, but she’s too young to be a ball dog yet. She also loves to be out the yard, listening to the birds and lying in the sunshine. Many dogs this age will not venture out without their people, but Torli is showing herself to have a somewhat independent nature, and as a puppy she is not needy at all.
Torli is a VERY young puppy, so we will try to place her with someone who does not work out of the house full-time. Normally, we do not place puppies with young children but feel that we could place Torli with children older than toddlers who are dog-savvy, because she has a very gentle nature and is less mouthy than other dogs her age. She is independent enough that she could be placed without another dog, but if that is the case, we will look at a situation for her where someone can be home for at least the next few weeks to help her with her transition. Her foster mom feels that if there were another dog to help with the transition then she will get used to the structure and rules more quickly, so the adjustment might be easier. But she’s a puppy and we know she’ll get used to anything quickly. We’re just looking with a family who can help her with her adjustment. She’s a calm, happy girl and we want only the best for her.
Torli is healthy, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and already spayed.

| Adeline adopted!
Meet Adeline, the sweetest, darling female black lab who loves to be loved. This 1.5 year old jet black lab is on the smaller side at 58 pounds and is a lovely combination of playful energy and nice indoor mellowness. She has no dew claws and has all the looks of a purebread lab!
She does need her daily exercise as she is still a young Lab at age 1.5, but she is the perfect mix of fun and easy. She is a gentle girl who loves to be loved and pet. She will sit right up next to you just to get attention and nudge you with her nose when she wants more attention.
Adeline came to us from a high kill shelter were she was found as a stray and we rescued her just in time. Hard to believe she ended up at a shelter, because she is just a treasure to have as a pet! Not only was Adeline taken from a shelter but it was the single highest kill shelter in all of California and it was about 1 hour before she was to be euthanized. Unreal that a dog this amazing ended up there.
Adeline knows sit and come commands, and we are working on down & stay. Adeline is truly a darling and playful girl. She walks so well on leash, you almost won't know she's there with you. She walks right next to you, speeding up when you speed up & slowing down when you slow down - she is a DREAM to walk!
Adeline settles beautifully in the house after she has had her exercise. She likes to be close to you and nap at your feet or on the bed. Adeline is good with other dogs both big and small. She would do great as an only dog or with another playful doggie companion. She is currently fostered with another female lab of 7 years old and they get along great. She is a very good girl in the car, hopping in easily and just laying down while you drive.
Adeline got a good brushing and a bath in her foster home - she really liked the water, so chances are good this girl will be a swimmer! Trips to dog beach, or playing in a backyard pool will probably be loads of fun for this girl. Adeline eats well like any lab, but she is not overly food driven. She takes treats very gently - such a good girl. She loves her doggie toys - especially dog bones, so having nylabones and kongs in her new home is a must! She will do well with children though keep in mind, though she can be jumpy when she gets excited and any playful lab can knock over toddlers.
Adeline is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped & ready for her new home!

| Charlie adopted!
Charlie is a big, beautiful 1 year old purebred Lab. He is very loving and sweet, as most labs go. His thick, lush, black coat is really beautiful. A healthy wheat free dog food should maintain his handsome looks.
His first instinct was to jump on everyone to greet them but he learned very quickly that jumping is not the correct way to greet people--remember jumping is a dogs way to greet people. With a verbal reminder, he has come along way. He really wants to please and will benefit from continued obedience training. He is already learning to sit at street corners on our walks, to sit for food and for giving treats.
He LOVES his stuffed squeaky toys. Give him one and he'll carry it around in his mouth for quite sometime. He gives his stuffed toys very gently to people but is a little less willing to give it to a dog friend. He appears not to have known how to play with toys but is learning that may be why he is less willing to give his favorite squeaky to another dog. He still doesn't know what to do with a tennis ball but with time that will come also. For now, a stuffed squeaky makes him very happy and he doesn't tear it up as some dogs do. It's very cute to watch. It's like an infant with his first toy.
He has had no accidents in the house and has learned to calm down in the house nicely. He wants to jump on the couch and do nothing more than be your lap buddy and give you loves. He especially loves his people and will follow you around until he knows you're there for a while and then he'll stay around the area you are in.
Charlie is great with large dogs and small dogs. He is currently being fostered with a Great Dane/St. Bernard mix and a Bichon and plays nicely with both. However, he would be fine to be your one and only also. However, because of his size it would be preferred to be placed in a home without toddler as he may knock them over without meaning to.
He will need a good 45 minute walk in the morning and one in the evening. He pulls a little still on the leash but is learning quickly. A pinch collar will help in his training. He sits very nicely to have you attach his leash to go for a walk. It is something he really looks forward to. As long as he gets his exercise, he settles down very nicely. A romp at the dog park would be great fun too. He is not a barker or a digger. He has not been tested yet at the beach or around water or around cats.
He is in excellent health except for his ears which were not well taken care of. A shame someone couldn't spare to give him a little ear wash and drops to clear them up but we are here to help now. His ears are being treated and will be just perfect in a few days!
Charlie is healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

| Zoe adopted!
Meet Zoe, a lovely purebred Chocolate Female Labrador of just about 2 years old that is almost PERFECTION! Zoe is about 70 pounds and has the trademark lab wiggle & tail wag! She is a very loving girl who loves to give kisses and get belly rubs! She is a beautiful dark chocolate color with pearly white teeth! This is a beautiful purebred Labrador who has outstanding temperament - loves all people and all dogs and makes friends everywhere she goes. We rescued Zoe from one of the highest kill shelters in California. As soon as we saw this beautiful girl, we knew she was coming home with us! She is not just a gorgeous girl, but she has a lovely temperament! She is a medium energy girl that settles really well in the house. She is not mouthy or jumpy at all, so she would do very well with a family with kids!
Zoe is a playful girl and loves other dogs. She makes friends with all the dogs she meets, both big & small. She has this adorable mothering trait where she licks another dogs ears to make sure they are clean... it's very cute.
Zoe is still a young lab, so she will need daily exercise. But after her exercise she settles well in the house and naps at your feet. She would do great in a home with another friendly canine companion or as your one and only. She would love trips to dog park, regular walks and play dates with other dogs. Zoe walks pretty well on leash - she can pull a bit at first and can be playful when she meets other dogs, but ultimately she settles into a walk by your side where she constantly checks on your pace to walk with you.
Zoe is learning to get up in the car but needs a bit of help as car rides we think are new to her! Foster mom is teaching her to get in the car - although she still does need a boost. Once in the car - she does well - she's quiet & calm and just lays down for the ride. She stays in the back and doesn't try to get into the front. She just looks out the window and enjoys the ride. Zoe has not had any potty accidents in her foster home, so we believe she is housebroken - although of course all dogs should be watched at first in their new environment.
Zoe is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed.

| Victoria adopted!
Meet Victoria, a lovely little Female Yellow Labby girl of about 6-7 years old! She is as cute as a button!! Victoria is just adorable at a small size of only 40 pounds. Victoria looks to be a purebred English Labrador but is very small so she may be a slight mix although we cannot see anything other than Labrador in this little bunny. She is absolutely the most adorable petite Lab we have ever seen.
This girl has the best labby personality! She is happy all the time - wiggling and always smiling and just loves other dogs and adores people. She is a very loving girl who loves attention too! We rescued Victoria from one of the highest kill shelters in California. This little girl is so happy go lucky - even after all she has been through - she deserves a wonderful new family who will shower her with love & affection.
She is a calm girl that will lay on the floor and settle well in the house. She is also crate trained, sleeping in a crate at her foster home.
Victoria is a playful girl for 6-7 years old. She loves her trips to the dog park and does fantastic with all other dogs - big and small. Event better, she walks great on leash! She doesn't pull at all - she is just a dream to take walks with.
Victoria is a low-medium energy lab. She would love a couple walks every day, but is content to just relax at all other times. She would do great in a home with another friendly canine companion or as your one and only.
Victoria does okay with kitties. She is curious, but with dog-experienced cats, she is gentle & loving - never harming a cat - although she may give chase if the opportunity arises but it is all in fun.
Victoria does great riding in the car. She will jump right in (if she can make it up that high) and look out the window while she rides along with you.
Victoria is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. All she needs now is her forever home.

| Kobe 3 adopted!
Meet Kobe! Kobe is an adorable blocky stocky purebred English male Labrador of just about 1 1/2 years. He has a gorgeous blocky head and perfect conformation and he is a great smaller size at just about 55 lbs.
Kobe is a sweet, wiggly happy youngster who loves all dogs and all people. He is a very submissive boy with other dogs.
Kobe is a playful boy who is very puppy like. He loves the tennis ball and retrieving. He is often in the puppy playboy and because he is pup-like he occasionally can do puppyish things like try to chew on your hair (if it's long) like a silly boy! But he is not a hyper boy and is actually a pretty calm and mellow fellow.
Kobe is wonderful with little children and very gentle with them.
Kobe is a wonderful Labrador with outstanding temperament. He only wants to please his person and get along with all dogs he meets.
He tends to pull on the leash just a little right in the beginning of his walk but quickly falls into a walk on heel and is a very good walker.
Kobe is a great candidate for dog park and dog beach since he is so friendly and submissive with other doggies, plus he loves to play and would really enjoy a play companion.
This stunningly gorgeous purebred was found in danger in a very high kill Los Angeles County shelter. Hard to believe right? Yet there he was. And he was not even a stray - he was an owner turn in meaning either his family simply did not want him anymore or that like many Labs, he was not given the attention, exercise and access to the inside of the house with the family that so many Labs must have to be happy.
In foster Kobe has been pure pleasure. He is just a joy to have around and he makes you smile constantly with his happy Labby nature and disposition. He is a good boy who is just recently housebroken and is well behaved in the house. Clearly his former owners never let him inside as he was not housebroken when we got him and he was not accustomed to being indoors. Now of course he is completely housebroken, and loves being inside with his foster and his foster boy - an 8 year old boy. He loves sleeping on his doggie bed and he loves being part of a family.
Kobe is a young, medium energy boy who will do best in a home with another playful friendly companion or where someone is home much of the time since he is young. He has obviously lived the first part of his life in a yard, so we feel we owe him more than that now.
If Kobe does go with another dog, he will do best with a medium or large dog around his age who can be his buddy and enjoy playing with him. He likes to give other dogs kisses and enjoys sharing his bed with his foster brother, a 110 lbs chocolate male Labrador who is 6 years old. His foster brother is a very dominant dog who does NOT enjoy kisses and cuddles from Kobe but Kobe still seems to love him just the same and they get along beautifully.
Kobe will do beautifully with children and would enjoy their company and ball throwing. He loves the ball and also enjoys getting into his foster's pool - especially laying on the pool steps. Kobe will need a good hour of exercise every day like any Labrador his age should have. He will then settle down beautifully for you.
Kobe is a good boy in the car and is a good boy with his food showing no possessiveness. He loves the tennis ball and carrying it around. Kobe is a not cat tested so we will not be placing him with kitties.
Kobe is healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

| Moose 2 adopted!
Meet Moose! Moose is a PRIZE. This boy is such a good boy, so loving, so sweet, so gentle, so easygoing, we just cannot say enough good things about Moose. Moose is a handsome purebred male Weimaraner of 5 years. He is a beautiful boy with amazing temperament.
Moose came to us skin and bones, pretty much starving. But sweet and happy and full of love. He came to us from a high kill shelter where he was in immediate danger of euthanasia which is unbelievable when you meet this dog who is so perfect.
Moose is absolutely a pleasure. He's a very easy going mellow boy who gets along beautifully with all other dogs big and small. He is very popular at dog park where he has tons of doggie friends and human admirers who flock to Moose because he is just so cool.
Moose is fostered with a male Labrador and the two boys get along famously, hanging out together as buddies all day, sharing toys, and laying down next to each other for naps. Moose is a medium energy boy who needs his daily exercise but settles perfectly in the house in his laid back mellow way. Dog park is particularly nice for Moose because of how well he gets along with other dogs and because he enjoys it so.Moose is also very good with kitties so he is a good choice for families with cats.
He's certainly a gentle boy with an easy going way and gentle calm nature. Even though he is so gentle and lovely, we are not looking to place Moose with toddlers. He can at times be a little sensitive about being handled roughly or touched in certain areas, so toddlers are not a good fit for him. But older children would be fine.
Moose is of course a Weimaraner so he will always do best either with someone who is home a lot OR with another doggie companion if you go to work during the day. Weims really crave companionship and don't like to be left alone. But with another friendly canine companion they are fine.
Moose came to us very underweight at around 60 lbs. He is now about about 78 lbs. he will be at his best weight at 85 lbs. He is doing great, and is very healthy, vet checked and approved! Moose in neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Tierney adopted!
Meet Tierney, a lovely Chocolate Female Lab of about 2-3 years old! Tierney is a nice size at 58 pounds currently - although she should gain a few pounds. When we found her, she was a little skinny. Her ideal weight should be between 60-65 pounds - so adding just a few more pounds will be perfect for her! She is a very loving girl who loves to give and receive affection! We rescued Tierney from one of the highest kill shelters in California. As soon as we saw this beautiful girl, we knew she was coming home with us! She is doing so well in foster care - learning many new things and being exposed to many new places! Even a visit to the local pet store!
She is a calm girl that will lay on the floor - or even better, in her crate when relaxing. She really adores her crate and when left free in the house, she often chooses her crate to rest in. We leave the crate door open, and soon find her in there - digging at her bedding to get it just right, and then curling up for a nice nap - she truly feels safe and comfortable in there. At bed time she lays on her bed next to her foster mom's bed or in her crate and sleeps the whole night through without a peep.
Tierney is slightly playful and loves to go on walks & hikes. Even more, she LOVES the water! She would love dog beach, swimming in a pool, or hiking by streams, riverbeds and lakes.
Tierney is a medium energy lab. Of course, she is still a young lab, so she will need daily exercise. But after her exercise she settles well in the house and naps at your feet. She would do great in a home with another friendly canine companion or as your one and only. She is also a good choice if you work during the day as she does well when she is left alone.
Tierney ignores kitties. They just are not very interesting to her so she will do great in a home with cats!!
Tierney is learning to get up in the car but needs a bit of help as car rides we think are new to her! Foster mom is teaching her to get in the car - although she still does need a boost. Once in the car - she does well - she's quiet & calm and just lays down for the ride. She stays in the back and doesn't try to get into the front. She just looks out the window and enjoys the ride.
Tierney was likely not exposed to many things in the world, so she will benefit from a family that will bring her places and expose her to many things - showing her what a wonderful world she lives in.
Tierney is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed.

| Bebe adopted!
Meet Bebe – an adorable Chocolate female labrador that is very sweet, loving and eager to please. She has a beautiful dark chocolate color coat that is soft and shiny.
This 19 month old sweetheart is filled with happiness and just loves every person and every dog she meets. She even loves the kitty she is fostered with.
Bebe came to us from a family that could no longer keep her. Her owners moved to a new rental home and could only bring one dog with them. So Bebe was left behind….
When we first met Bebe we knew she was coming with us. Her outstanding temperament, calm nature, and gentle sweetness was so apparent and she has only shown us more and more what an amazing and lovely girl she is.
She is 19 months old (almost 2 years) and still has her gorgeous puppy face with beautiful and bright brown eyes. She is always happy and wags her tail constantly.
She is still a youngster and loves to chew on her toys for many hours. She absolutely loves the kong, the dental chew and the balls she plays with. However, she is not destructive at all and will only chew on her toys always leaving her foster mom and dads things alone. She is very trustworthy!
She is a bit overweight right now for lack of exercise, however, she has a lot of energy and loves to run, play fetch and take long walks on the neighborhood. Bebe will have a ton of fun on long hikes, playing at the dog park or on the dog beach. With regular daily exercise, she will soon loose a few pounds and be on her perfect weight. But until then, there is just more Bebe to hug and love!
Even though she has lots of nice energy, Bebe is a very calm and mellow doggie in the house and settles just beautifully when you want her too. She is the best of playful energy, and calm mellow loveliness.
Bebe is fostered with two other dogs and she gets along very nicely with both of them. She has such a nice temperament, that she doesn’t really mind when her foster brother will not share his toys with her. She waits patiently until he is done to steal the toys and have her share them. This girl is very mellow, easy going and loving….
This adorable girl is very smart and already know the “sit” command and is learning the “down” command right now. She is also very polite and takes treats very nicely from your hand. All Labs love food and she will learn her commands very quickly with some great tasting treats.
Bebe also walks well on a leash but still need some reinforcement to stay next to her person. She will definitely benefit from a dog obedience class with her new owner. But she only wants to please and is such a good girl.
Bebe is already house trained. She learned very quickly how to use the doggy door and has had no accidents in her foster home.
She is not mouthy at all and does not jump up on people either. So she will do beautifully with children.
She does get a bit excited when her person comes home but quiets down quickly after she gets some attention. And speaking of attention, she LOVES getting belly rubs, being petted and giving kisses. She can’t wait to have a family of her own to get all the love and attention she wants and deserves.
Bebe loves other dogs and we think she would do beautifully with another friendly canine companion to keep her company if her family is at work all day. Or she will do fine as your one and only love provided someone is around a bit and can take her to dog park to play with other doggies.
Bebe is a healthy girl who is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

| Sandy 2 adopted!
Meet Sandy, a perfect English butterball Labrador that is the best of the best.
Sandy is a purebred white female Labrador of 4 years. She is a short stocky Bench bred or English bed Lab with a big blocky head. She is a slightly chubby girl of about 90 lbs (she should be more like 75-80 lbs) and she is a mellow, sweet, adorable girl who will steel your heart forever.
Sandy is sweetness personified. She is everything we dream of when we think of a Labrador. She has a constant smile on her face and her whole body wiggles with joy when you walk into the room.
She loves to be by your side, loves to give kisses and loves to be stroked. She is a very calm girl that will lay on her bed or at your feet while you watch TV or work. At bed time she lays on her bed next to her foster mom's bed and sleeps the whole night through without a peep. In the morning she even waits for foster mom to get her coffee before she goes outside.
Sandy is completely trustworthy in the house and doesn't chew or dig or bark. She is slightly playful and loves to go on hikes. when on a hike, Sandy will run ahead and explore and loves to jump into streams and get wet. She will go in and out of the the bushes and trees on the train but always comes when called and keeps coming back to be by your side.
Sandy likes to go to dog park also. She loves to say hello to all the people and dogs and has many friends. She doesn't play much but she is very friendly and wiggly at all times. She enjoys just being with other dogs and people and exploring.
Sandy loves the water and loves to swim. She absolutely would love a home with a pool she can use or even a home on the beach or lake. She is a true Labrador and loves to be wet!
Sandy is a wonderful dog to have with children and would be lovely even with toddlers. She is calm and gentle.
Sandy is a medium energy lab. She must have a home where her new owners are committed to exercising her every day so that she can shed her few extra pounds. She also likes a lot of attention and she totally deserves it so we are looking for a home where someone is home much of the time.
Sandy ignores kitties. They just are not very interesting to her so she will do fine in a home with cats. She is great with other dogs so another friendly dog would be lovely. Sandy can get a tiny bit possessive over her person when she is getting love and she has growled at her foster mom's other Labs. But she is easily corrected when told "no" and she bears no ill will. She is a lover not a fighter!
Sandy is learning to get up in the car but needs a bit of help. Foster mom has taught her to put her two front paws up and then mom can lift her booty up into the car. Sandy likes to ride in the car and is quiet and calm. She stays in the back and doesn't try to get into the front. She just looks out the window and enjoys the ride. She is also good in the car when foster Mom runs a quick errand and leaves her alone.
This perfect girl is just wonderful in every way and deserves the very best home with a pool or water nearby, someone home most of the time, and where she can be spoiled as she should be.
Sandy is healthy, up to date on vaccines, wormed, microchipped, spayed and current on flea control.

| April adopted!
Meet April - a beautiful female yellow lab who has the best temperment ever! She is a lighter yellow - almost cream color and is on the smaller side at about 60 pounds with gorgeous golden eyes!
April came to us from one of the highest kill shelters in Los Angeles, and as soon as we saw her, we knew she needed a fabulous new home. She is about 3 years old and a loving, darling girl.
She is wonderful with all other dogs both in offleash areas like dog park and passing dogs on the leash. She wants to be friends and meet everyone. She also does great off leash on hikes, staying with her pack!
April is fostered with a 7 year old lab. She gets along wonderfully with her and all other dogs she meets.
April is a pretty good girl on leash - no pinch collar needed. She will start the walk pulling a bit, but settles well into the walk simply walking at the end of the leash, perhaps pull slightly, but mostly just does very well. As a young lab of 3 years old, April requires a good amount of daily exercise. Long walks of 45 minutes, trips to the dog park, hikes and even dog beach are all great exercise for her, and she will need this daily. She is a medium energy girl, who settles well in the house, once she's had her exercise.
April is not yet 100% on her housebreaking skills as we believe in her previous home she was just kept in a backyard - poor girl. However, she is learning quickly in her foster home and we are certain she could be 100% very quickly. April knows her sit, come & shake commands! She doesn't quite know down yet, but we are working on that. She definitely wants to please and is food motivated, so continuing her training with treats should be easy. She also takes treats very gently - what a good girl she is!
April does enjoy a game of fetch here & there, but is not obsessive about it. She also likes her dog bones & other dog toys in her foster home, but does very well sharing them with her foster sister!
She does well in the car - jumping right in and enjoying the ride. She prefers to be close to you in the car - often finding herself in the passenger seat.
April is not mouthy at all, which we love. However, she can be jumpy and is still learning that excitement does not have to mean she end up on 2 paws. So, children over age 5 are probably best for this girl, as she could knock a toddler down.
April will do great with another friendly canine companion or as your one and only, as long as you are not gone long hours, as she doesn't like to be left alone for a long time.
We do not know how April will do with cats, so we will no be placing her with them at this time. April is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

| Remington adopted!
Meet
Remington, a stunningly beautiful purebred male Weimaraner of 2 years
old. This youngster is unbelievably handsome with a beautiful coat and
the most amazing eyes. He is about 80 pounds and a tall, lovely boy!
As
gorgeous as this beautifully bred boy is, his looks are not the best
part of him. He is just an amazing, wonderful dog of medium-energy. No
one will be disappointed with Remington as a new addition to their
family!
Remington is an energetic, youngish, two year old male
Weimaraner who likes brisk walks and mingling with other dogs at the dog
park. He'll do best with a fitness-minded owner who will make a
commitment to walking regularly and appreciate the reciprocal benefits
of a loving, loyal walking and hiking partner. At slightly under
80 lbs. he's lean, tall and quite the physical specimen. He elicits a
fair amount of attention at the dog park where other dog owners have
applied adjectives such as "stately" and "regal". He's one good-looking
dog. Remi apparently had no prior leash experience but has been
improving by leaps and bounds. He is ripe for bonding with a patient
someone who can help build on the foundation established during
fostering. At home he is a snuggle-puppy and wants to be with
you in much the same way that a lab does. He likes nothing better than
to lay beside you with his head in your lap while watching TV. He is as
gentle and calm around the house as he is energetic on his walks. During
fostering he has begun to answer to “Remi”. He has been calm around
other dogs at the dog park and the fostering owner's Labrador Retriever.
He approached the foster home's resident cat and gave it a big, slow
lick in the face. Remi take treats tenderly without the slightest nip
that might be of concern to parents. Those having even a passing
acquaintance with the breed will understand the characteristic
sensitivity by which a sharp tone of disapproval is vastly more
effective than the lightest physical punishment. Remi already responds
to the basic "sit" and "come" commands and is now working on "stay".
Even a moderately sharp "No!" is quite effective at getting him to stop
and give you his undivided attention. Once you have his attention in
that way he only needs your gentle guidance and repetition before he'll
learn the ropes as you and your home situation require. Remi
will willingly walk into a crate with just a little guidance but, as is
typical of Weims, he'd much rather sleep at your side or at the foot of
the bed...as close as he can be to you. Another Weim trait is
their need for companionship which makes the ideal home one in which
someone is around most of the time or in which work schedules overlap
enough to minimize extended absences. Remi has unlimited
potential with an owner willing to invest time and patient nurturing.
He'll return many times more than what you put into him. He's well worth
it and that's no exaggeration!

| Barney adopted!
Maybe someone so handsome should have been named King? Thor? Zeus? Look at this gorgeous English boy. His head is like a big black chunk of labbie beauty. His face is so handsome with those sweet, sad brown eyes and the non-matching constant lab smile. He’s super jowly and got a big thick muzzle. He is rangy, tall and at his ideal weight of 85 pounds. He’s got a gorgeous, sleek black coat, so shiny. His coat is coarse and wavy like a real lab – one completely meant for water.
The funny thing is Mr. Handsome got the total lab goofball personality. He’s silly comedian, constantly running into things with his head, walking into doors, legs and knees. When he drinks he puts his muzzle in up to his eyes and his jowls flap around in the water like a small black manta ray. He even likes to try to get in the big tall buckets of drinking water at his foster mom’s house. He blows bubbles in the water dish. He gets your whole face wet if he kisses you, and he frequently wets your pant leg just by standing next to you, because his jowliness is still dripping from the water bowl. It’s as if the highschool quarterback turned out to be a total doofus.
In his last home he was a back yard dog, so he finds everything we do very curious. His first day he watched his foster mom do dishes for more than an hour. He hasn’t made up his mind yet whether he wants to be a shadow or mind his own business, so for now, he does a mixture of both. He will wander off and run around in the yard, since that’s what he’s used to, but gosh, if he can, he LOVES to be with you, since that’s new and exciting.
Even though he’s been a back yard dog, he has the makings of an incredible family dog. He has an amazing temperament, sweet, loving, eager to please, loves other dogs, children and all adults. He is just looking for some leadership, and by that we DON’T mean that he’s dominant. He’s not at all. He really wants someone to teach him what to do and let him know when he’s done the wrong thing. He wants to be a good dog and, once he’s bonded with you, he responds to verbal praise as well as food rewards. If someone takes his training on as their very important project, they will be so proud of the results. He’s intelligent, sensitive and wants you to be happy. He already does sit and comes to his name. He needs a pinch collar on leash, but after a block or so, generally walks pretty nicely. He’s fine in the car.
He’s still a pup at 1 and a half, and a bit on the higher energy side, due mostly to his age. He will need several walks a day for some time. He’d be a great hiking partner, will probably love the ball and maybe even frisbee. He just got neutered so his activity at his foster home has been very limited, but he has a very athletic build, so we believe he could be quite active if you want him to be.
He is not destructive in the house or a chewer. He barks a little when he’s excited but that’s pretty much it. We are not sure how he is when we leave him in the house, but he stays outside nicely when we go. He’ll need a secure yard unless you want to put the time into crate training him. So far he hasn’t been a jumper and he’s shown no signs of mouthiness, but we’d still be a little hesitant to place him with toddlers, just because he’s so big. If you have a roomy house or your kids are used to big dogs, it would probably work out just fine.
Barney is not good with kitties and will chase them so no kitties for Barney.
So if you like them handsome but goofy and would love a responsive, trainable dog, please fill out an application and then follow up with an email to his foster family at dywilcox@sbcglobal.net

| Luke 2 adopted!
Meet Luke! Who is the cutest, happiest, most wiggly boy? Who is the softest most beautiful pale yellow purebred Labby? Oh boy. They do not come better than Luke.
Luke is an absolutely gorgeous purebred 2 year old male Labrador of just about 70 lbs. This pale yellow stunner is just the most lovely boy in both looks and temperament you will ever meet.
Luke came to us from Taiwan where he has been in quarantine for about a month with many other dogs making their way to the United States for adoption. Luke is one of our TUAPA dogs. We work very closely with TUAPA, a Taiwanese rescue group who sends the sweetest Labbies to us for adoption. These dogs have no options in Taiwan so they come here to find the best homes with our families.
Families wait a long time to adopt a TUAPA dog. These dogs have outstanding doggie manners and are absolutely amazing with all other dogs.
Luke is wonderful with other dogs. He enjoys dog park and has many friends. Other dogs also really like him because he is so wonderfully behaved.
Luke loves toys - especially soft toys he can carry around in his mouth. It's just adorable to watch him walk around with his teddy bear or octopus so proudly. He also loves to retrieve and is wonderful about giving you the ball or toy when you ask for it so you will throw it for him again.
Luke is a medium to mellow energy dog. He is extremely well behaved and settles beautifully in the house. He is a good boy on the leash but can sometimes pull a little. He responds beautifully to a correction and will walk right with you. He passes other dogs nicely saying hello and of course he loves to great all the people he meets too.
Although Luke is not from America, he somehow has already learned his commands including "shake" and "other one" (shaking with the other paw. He loves to bury his head in your lap and come in close for cuddling or love. He loves to give kisses gently to your nose and is just about the sweetest most loving Labrador there is.
Luke has not been tested with kitties. We will attempt to do that but until we do, we cannot place him with cats.
He will do beautifully with children and would love all the attention he would get from them.
Luke is a great dog to take to dog beach or dog park or even to friends houses for barbeques with other dogs because you know he will also be submissive and polite with other dogs.
Everyone comments on how handsome he is and how wonderful not able to believe his plight. We are just so grateful to have Luke here with us in his foster home.
Luke will do great with another friendly canine companion male or female (since he is so great with all doggies!) This is especially true if you are gone long hours. It would be nice for him to have company.
He needs moderate exercise which is nice for such a young playful boy.
Luke is healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

| Snow adopted!
Meet Snow, an absolutely darling Bench Bred purebred English Labrador Retriever. Snow is a yellow female with a gorgeous blocky head and short stocky stature. She has a creamy white coat - as white as "snow" and it is also as soft as can be!
Snow is a medium sized 2-3 years old Lab of 65 lbs.
Snow is one of our TUAPA rescues from Taiwan. We work very closely with TUAPA to bring these lovely purebred Labradors to the United States for adoption. One of the nicest things about the Taiwan dogs is always their unsurpassed temperaments and ability to get along beautifully with other dogs. This is partially due to the temperament inherent in their breeding and partly due to the fact that so many dogs end up on the street and as such form close relationships with other dogs in the pack.
Snow has been completely tested for any health issues and is an extremely healthy girl.
She is wonderful with all other dogs both in offleash areas like dog park and passing dogs on the leash. She wants to be friends and meet everyone.
Snow is fostered with a 7 year old lab. She gets along wonderfully with her and all other dogs she meets. She is a very playful girl - although not that playful with other dogs. She would much rather play with her human friends!
Snow walks very well on leash. She will walk at the end of the leash & may pull slightly, but mostly just does very well. As a young lab of 2-3 years old, Snow requires a good amount of daily exercise. Long walks of 45-60 minutes, trips to the dog park, hikes and even dog beach are all great exercise for her, and she will need this daily. She is a medium energy girl and enjoys being active - she would even love to be your jogging partner.
Snow does well in the crate - sometimes not wanting to go in, but easily coaxed in with a treat or bone. Once in, she may bark or whine at first, but ultimately settles well and goes to sleep. Snow is housebroken and has not had any accidents, but as any new dog, she should be watched at first in her new home. She is not destructive either!
Snow is learning her commands. She doesn't quite know them yet. Since she is from Taiwan, english is not her first language. She does know "come" and we are working on "sit" right now.
Snow has discovered dog bones in her foster home & enjoys carrying them around in her mouth & chewing on them occassionally. She also enjoys tennis balls and enjoys a game of fetch as well, although she is not ball obsessive which is wonderful.
She does well in the car - jumping right in and enjoying the ride. She prefers to be close to you in the car - often finding herself in the passenger seat.
Snow loves to play with her humans and sometimes gets very excited and mouthy - as many young labs do. For this reason, we think she would be best placed with children over age 7.
Snow will do great as your one and only or with another friendly canine companion. She's a young girl who needs plenty of daily exercise and attention. She would love a family that will take her on good long walks, trips to dog park, and even dog beach or hiking.
Snow is also very good with kitties. If they are playful and running, she may chase, but she would not hurt a cat. Snow is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

| Tao Tao adopted!
Meet Tao Tao, a darling little butterball of a Lab who is the sweetest most wiggly little girl you will ever meet. This purebred yellow female is a petite girl at just about 50 lbs and is playful and happy all the time.
Tao Tao is about 4 years old but is much more like a 2 year old Labby girl. She loves her toys and absolutely adores all other dogs and playing with them. She is very puppyish in her playfulness and has lots of happy energy.
Tao Tao is extremely affectionate. She loves cuddles and pets and if you are down on the ground with her she will wiggle her way onto you with her belly exposed for extra love.
This little bunny loves people - all people. She is a perfect dog park candidate as she is so lovely with all other dogs.
Recently Tao Tao has been going on the trails with her foster mom and a few other foster dogs and she loves it. She stays right with the pack having a great time.
Tao Tao is a lady in the car and a wonderful traveling partner. She loves to look out the window and is very calm.
Tao Tao is a complete social butterfly. She wants to say hello to every dog and every person and just spread her happy wiggles to all.
Tao Tao will do best in a home that will provide her good daily exercise and social activities like dog park. She will do best with another friendly and playful canine companion or will be fine as an only dog provided her family takes her to dog park or has playdates so she can see friends.
She would love a family that will take her to doggie beach now and then or on some hikes for fun. She really loves to do fun things with her people.
She is so social, happy and just adores attention.
This little perfect Labrador came to us through our rescue partner TUAPA in Taiwan. In Taiwan dogs like Tao Tao have no options for adoption and without our help, are euthanized. We try to help as many Taiwan Labs as we are able to as each and every one we get is of superior temperament and will make their new families wonderful canine companions.
Tao Tao is not destructive in the home and is mostly housebroken.
This little butterball is extremely healthy, spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. All dogs coming from Taiwan have received extensive testing for all diseases and have passed with flying colors.
If you are looking for a happy little female Labrador who is extremely social and loving and perfect with other dogs, Tao Tao may be for you.

| Ben Junior adopted!
Ben Junior
(or just Junior) is a very sweet, mellow, and easy going purebred
Labrador Retriever male of just 3 years.
He has big, dark eyes
that show a deep down sadness from being in the streets of Taiwan for
too long without food, water, love and attention. But through all this,
he is the most loving, affectionate boy who loves to give kisses. He is
definitely ready to be a part of a loving family who will give him all
of the TLC that he has been missing for so long.
Junior came to
us from Taiwan through TUAPA. We feel so lucky to have him here with us
because he is just perfection. Like all the Taiwan Labs we get, this boy
is perfect with all other dogs and all people. He is an extremely
mellow and well adjusted guy who has a wonderful calm gentle
personality.
This gorgeous boy is a smaller lab. His ideal weight
should be about 65 lbs but currently he is a bit underweight at only
about 55 lbs. His coat is a velvet black shiny coat and he has a
beautiful, beautiful face. And though it is a little hard to tell from
his photos, he also has a gorgeous blockier head that we all love so
much in our Labby boys. He loves to play with tennis balls and
rubber balls in true Labby fashion. When he gets tired of playing, he
will lie down and chew on the ball and roll around with the ball on his
mouth. He is a really happy boy who is always content and he is not
destructive at all - never chewing on anything else besides his own
balls and toys. He is a low to medium energy dog that loves
to fetch a ball and to take nice walks around the neighborhood. He can
be playful and fun, but can also settle beautifully when his family
wants him to. He already knows the “sit” command and is learning
the “down” and “stay” command. He is a very smart boy and learns very
quickly and of course he LOVES to please his person like most Labradors. Junior
gets along very well with other dogs and plays well with them too. He
is also curious about cats and wants to play with his foster mom’s cat
but she will not give him the time of day. So, he will adjust very well
with a family that owns other dogs or cats. As a matter of fact, we
think that Junior will do much better if he has a companion, a canine or
human. He doesn’t like being alone for too many hours during the day
and really enjoys companionship. Being the great pleaser he is,
Junior would love and definitely benefit from a nice dog obedience class
to learn how to walk well on a leash and stay next to his person. He
already does pretty well, but he would be perfect with a nice class.
Like
almost every Labrador, Junior likes his food. As such, he has
discovered the fine art of counter surfing like all Labbies do. The
simple solution? Don't leave food on the counter and you will not have a
Lab that counter surfs! But leave yummy snacks within reach and any
Labby will try to get them! Junior does not like to be in a
crate. As soon as he goes in he will start barking and will not be
happy at all. He prefers to have a bed next to his person or someplace
else around the house. He was probably crated for so long that he
simply does not like the crate anymore. The good news is he doesn't need
one. He is non-destructive and he is house broken. In fact, he learned
very quickly how to use the doggy door! Like any new doggie, his new
family will need to watch him and his potty manners when he comes to a
new environment until he gets the lay of the land. Junior is a
very sweet and mellow boy with a great temperament. Nothing seems to
bother him and he is happy with the small things in life, like food and a
tennis ball. What could be better?
Junior is a healthy boy who
is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped.

| Cabo adopted!
Meet Cabo! Cabo is an adorable chocolate purebred male Labrador of 2 years. This gorgeous boy is a beautiful Lab with nice breeding! He has a giant blocky head (which we love!), and a rich chocolate coat. You just can NOT have too much chocolate!
Cabo is a darling boy. He came to us from a very high kill Los Angeles County shelter where he was in danger. When we met Cabo he was quite pleased to see us with his tail wagging and a big smile. After spending time with Cabo, we knew he would be coming home with us and he was very, very happy to leave the shelter and arrive at his foster home.
Cabo is fostered with a male Labrador and a male Weimaraner. He gets along beautifully with both of them and also with other dogs he meets.
Cabo is a young boy so he will need lots of good daily exercise. But he is definitely on the mellower side as far as 2 year olds go. That said, he IS a young purebred Lab, so no one gets off easy! Lots of park trips, walks, ball tossing, and hikes are definitely in order.
Cabo is good in the house and good in his crate though he doesn't really need a crate at all.
He is housebroken and not destructive. He learned the doggie door very quickly and uses it when he needs to go outside to go potty.
Cabo knows how to "sit" and will come when you call him. He also understands "no" and is obedient. He is very treat motivated too so he is fun to work with and easy to train. Cabo did great for his bath too. He was a really good boy and enjoyed the attention! He is good on the leash and doesn't pull too much. He passes other dogs nicely too!
Cabo will do best in most homes. He would love to have another friendly canine companion to spend time with - preferably close to his age and especially if his new family is gone for extended periods during the day.
He would love a family that will spend lots of time with him and take him to do fun things like dog beach, dog park, hikes, and other fun activities.
Cabo will do fine with children, but probably too wiggly for toddlers. We do not know how Cabo will do with kitties so we will not place him with them. Cabo is just the sweetest doll baby. He loves to cuddle and lay at your feet while you work or watch TV. He is not mouthy and takes treats gently. He loves his food, but doesn't devour it quickly.
Cabo is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

| Leyla adopted!
Leyla must mean angel! This girl is the biggest sweetheart! She’s a gorgeous English style lab. She has a blocky head and a short, stocky body. She’s a little girl, not fat at all, just perfect for her height at 59 pounds. She’s got light brown eyes and a pinkish nose, just adorable all around.
Her beauty is probably one of the reasons she was bred. She’s clearly been bred recently and was in heat again when we spayed her. But don’t worry. A little exercise and a healthy diet and she’ll be even more gorgeous than she is now.
It is amazing that anyone can be this cute and be so sweet, too. She loves to give kisses and snuggle. She’d love to be a lap dog if you don’t mind one over 50 pounds! She will follow you around the house if you like or find something else to do. She loves everyone but kids as much or more than everyone else. She’s not mouthy or jumpy, so she’d be perfect with kids of almost any age! Leyla is a very well-behaved, mellow, medium to low energy girl. She definitely needs a couple walks a day and if you want to get out some toys or balls, she LOVES to play. But she settles very nicely in the house and could even stay alone for part of the day if you needed, as long as you exercised her first. She’s perfectly housebroken, not destructive. She does like to chew a bit, but she’s not so enthusiastic that you’ll have a hard time keeping her out of your things. She just needs to have some toys of her own, and if you don’t have enough, she’ll go looking for others – in the trash can or in your cabinets -- so you’ll need to keep her busy with her own. Otherwise, your shoes start looking like toys to her! Leyla is great with other dogs. She likes doggie friends but she doesn’t need to play if the other dogs don’t want to. So far at her foster home, she hasn’t been able to play much because she just got spayed, but we think she’d make someone a great playmate. Because of her stitches, we haven’t been able to take her to the dog park, but we think she’d probably be a great dog park dog, since she doesn’t run away and she likes to stay close to her people. She’d be an amazing second dog or fabulous as your one and only. Leyla is easy to get in the car, but she doesn’t settle down in the car yet. It’s probably still pretty weird for her. Also as much as she LOVES her walks, she’s not leash-trained. We are working on this with her. She doesn’t pull all the time, but she’s best walked on a pinch collar. She knows sit and does come some times. She’s good in the crate (though she doesn’t want to go in there). We haven’t cat tested her so will probably not be placing her with cats. We think she’s just an angel! She’s so sweet and lovable and well-behaved. We think she’d work out great just about anywhere! She’s spayed, has all her shots and is micro-chipped.

| Ward adopted!
Here he is! One of our foreign exchange students from Taiwan! Isn’t he handsome? Don’t you think you might have a crush on him? Those adorable eyes, floppy ears and that gigantic English blocky head! Mmm! He’s the dreamiest!
Ward is a 2 year old purebred English male Labrador with a blocky English head and a stocky perfect 65 lbs. He is a perfect example of the breed standard for a well bred Labrador.
Ward, the jet-setter, just got off the 21-hour flight from Taiwan, and he arrived in fine fettle. He seems to be happy and excited to begin a new life, far from the streets of Taiwan, where he started. He’s been in quarantine for a while and is so happy to be here with us enjoying life. The good part about quarantine is that Ward’s been housed with lots of other dogs for a long time, so we know he’ll be a good citizen and we also know he is in the absolute best health!
Ward is amazing with all other dogs. He’s got great doggie manners! When he meets other dogs, he calmly wags his tail, and he knows when to move on. He’s not a pest or overly interested. Ward has fabulous socialization skills and is just a pleasure to have with other doggies.
Ward behaves like a complete angel in the house. He’s not destructive or a barker. He’s not a chewer. He is SO mellow and sweet. He’s also VERY independent. If you call him along to follow you as you move around the house, he trots over, tail wagging, then settles wherever you are. But he doesn’t need to be right on top of you. In fact, saying he settles after you’ve given him a good walk would be an understatement. He might curl up on his dog bed and fall asleep the moment you get home and stay there while you take care of business, whether that’s at home or some place else. We keep finding him in these funny places we don’t expect him to be – under a desk or in the garage, totally relaxed, not worried about what’s going on. He loves to be in the yard by himself sniffing all the corners. He is so easy to have around, not needy or demanding at all. He is just a very well adjusted boy.
Ward is not jumpy or mouthy, so would probably work great with toddlers. He’s also a great English size, probably 65 pounds. His breeding conformation is excellent and he is a truly beautiful blocky English Labrador.
Ward is a very mellow lower energy fellow which is just so lovely for a young 2 year old boy. 2 walks a day would make him SO happy. He walks great on leash. He doesn’t follow behind you, but he also doesn’t pull on the leash. He just walks out in front, and then as the walk goes on, he starts to hang at your side a bit more walking directly on heal. He also passes other dogs beautifully and is a friendly happy wiggler.
So far no potty mistakes in the house! When dogs come from Taiwan, they are not always fully house-trained, so this is a big bonus! He goes outside to go potty like a good boy.
We think Ward would work great as your one and only or as the newest member of your pack. He’s fabulous in the car, relaxing right away, and his laid-back nature leads us to believe he’d make an awesome errand running buddy. He doesn’t have any commands yet – at least not in English – but he’s such a good dog, it won’t matter. He is eager to please and a quick learner. By the time a family meets him he will know sit and down and will be the easiest boy to train.
Ward is not cat tested so we will not be placing him with kitties.
Ward is very healthy. He’s had all his shots, is neutered and microchipped.

| Tilly adopted!
Meet Tilly, a darling, adorable, cuddly, purebred female Labrador puppy of only 4 months who is looking for love and lots of fun! This little bunny is as cute as they come and she is a gorgeous jet black velvet cub.
Tilly was found in a very high kill Los Angeles County shelter where we were horrified to find her. It took all of about a half of a second for her to be sprung and on her way home with us to safety, good food, and a nice bath.
After being spayed, Tilly is recovering and doing great. She is happy and healthy and couldn't be more sweet than she is. She is a typical yummy Labrador puppy and we know nothing is better than that.
Tilly is just a baby at about 32 weeks (4 months). She is a little bit of a thing and only about 30 lbs. She has quite a bit of growing up to do and should grow to be an average sized 60 lbs or so as an adult.
Meanwhile, Tilly continues to be a pupster enjoying everything life has to offer, including running, jumping, playing until she passes out asleep in the middle of the room or in the laundry basket (see photos), chewing whatever is in her sight, and generally just being a fun loving silly baby.
This angel is looking for a totally dedicated, puppy ready, committed family to let her grow up into the best doggie. This means puppy proofing the house, lots of puppy mistakes, obedience class, getting up at night for potty breaks, and all the wonderful things that go along with the joys of adopting a Labrador puppy.
Tilly has a lovely temperament and is very outgoing and easy going. She shows wonderful potential for being a lovely well adjusted dog. For a puppy she is calm. However, calm puppies are still a bundle of energy so be prepared!
Her new family will need to commit to doggie socialization which is so important for dogs of her age. Lots of dog park and meeting tons and tons of other dogs, children, older people, and lots of nice exposure to the outside world so she will learn to be well adjusted with all dogs and people.
A puppy obedience class is definitely in order and will provide lots of fun and bonding for this little love and her new owner.
Tilly should have her own crate for night time sleeping to continue her potty training and to provide a safe place for her when her owners need to step out. No puppy should be left in a yard or permitted free run of the house unsupervised. Not only can they get into trouble, they can get hurt. So a crate is a must.
Tilly may only be adopted to homes where someone is home most of the time for the next few months. Puppies do NOT do well left alone - even with another dog - and like human babies, need someone around them all the time.
Tilly is a healthy happy girl. She is up to date on her vaccines, spayed and microchipped.

| Mickey adopted!
Meet Micky! A gorgeous yellow male Labrador that is sort of an "English" or Bench Bred style Lab who has a lighter cream colored coat. He has a nice block head and the perfect happy, wiggly lab temperament.
Micky is between 1-2 years old and weighs about 60lbs right now. He likely will do some more growing and probably end up at about 70-75 pounds when he is full grown. He is a beautifully bred Lab with a nice stocky conformation.
This boy is more than just looks though. He is a happy, wiggly, sweet boy who has lots of love to give!
Mikey came to us from a high kill Los Angeles County shelter where he was in danger. Our volunteer met Mickey and fell in love with him seeing what a great dog he is. Needless to say, Mickey came to us quickly and we couldn't be happier to be entrusted with this darling boy's care knowing he will get just the best home with one of our families.
Micky knows his basic commands "sit" and "come" and we are working on more. He will definitely benefit from a puppy obedience class to continue his training in his new forever home! He walks well on leash - and is best walked with a pinch collar. He likes to be at the end of the leash, but doesn't pull much, although he will pull to excitedly meet another dog or chase a teasing squirrel. He takes treats gently and is not a jumper which we love! He loves doggie chew toys - especially his durable dog bones, so having these in his new home will make him a very happy boy! He loves his toys so much, he can be puppy mouthy, He is redirecting well and learning, however for this reason, children over age 6 would be best for this boy.
Micky has been fostered with a couple other doggies & friends. He is a playful boy who would love to have a young playful doggie companion in his new home, or at least have regular trips to dog park, dog beach and doggie playdates so he can enjoy regular playtime with other young, playful doggies. If Micky will be your one and only dog, he will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time for now, since he is still a young Lab, and doesn't like to be left alone for long periods.
Since he is not yet 2 years old, and Labs stay puppies until age 2, he is still considered a puppy and so he may still make mistakes including potty accidents, playing with things that aren't his toys and the like. So patience and commitment are will be good for his new family.
Micky is a medium energy boy, but he is young, so will require 1-2 hours of exercise every day. He will need a family committed to ample DAILY exercise. He loves to be your jogging partner, will love trips to the dog park, dog beach, hikes and of course long walks are great for him. He would also love to play fetch in the yard.
We do not know how Micky will do with cats therefore; we may not want to place him in a home with them. Micky is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and microchipped.

| Cassidy adopted!
Meet Cassidy! This little girl is a darling purebred female yellow Labrador of just under or around 1 year. She is a dudley meaning she is a yellow girl with a liver nose and pinkish rimmed eyes. She is absolutely beautiful and her photos do not come close to doing this girl justice.
Cassidy is a playful sweet girl who is the happiest thing. She loves all people and all dogs. She is amazing with other dogs and loves to play with them. She has a lovely sweet temperament
Cassidy was found as a stray and made her way to one of the highest kill shelters in California. We quickly rescued this girl to ensure she finds a great new home. Cassidy is a puppy who doesn't know her commands just yet, but we are working on them. She will be a great candidate for a puppy obedience class to continue to learn her basic commands.
Cassidy is a young girl so she will need lots of daily exercise. Once exercised, she settles nicely in the house. Cassidy does well in a crate too. She would love to go to dog park to play with other dogs and will love going to dog beach, hiking, or even jogging with her new person.
Cassidy is still learning what toys are hers and what things are not toys. She will need a puppy proofed home and lots of chew appropriate toys to play with. Since she is a youngster she is bound to make a few mistakes now and then so patience and love is required! Cassidy is housebroken, but any youngster in a new home can make a potty mistake too. So lots of trips outside initially will be a good idea.
Cassidy will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time while she is still young. And she would love another friendly, young playful companion to play with and keep company for those times you are away. She will not do well left in a yard all day while her owners work long hours. She is too young for that.
This wiggly happy girl is just a playful pup. She is a joy to have around but must go to a home where someone is ready for a youngster who needs some obedience training and lots of playtime and exercise.
Cassidy is not particularly mouthy or jumpy but still may be too much for toddlers. Children over 6 should be just fine for Cassidy.Cassidy is still growing at 50 lbs. She will grow to be about 60 lbs at full size. She will be the perfect size - not too big and just what the breed standard calls for.
Cassidy is a healthy girl who is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

| Dory adopted!
Baby Dory is a female 14 week old AKC purebred chocolate Labrador. What a dolly!
Dory came to us when her previous family took her to the vet to have her put to sleep because she suffered from an ectopic ureter which caused her to be incontinent. Even though there is a surgery to correct this, the family opted to euthanize Dory rather than pay for surgery. The hospital could not euthanize this otherwise healthy purebred girl and called upon Independent Labrador Retriever Rescue to step in and save her life.
Thanks to generous donations, Dory had a successful surgery and is healthy and ready for adoption!
Dory is all puppy, chewing anything her little mouth can get around so she will need lots of her own chew toys and since she's teething, she especially likes ice cubes a couple times a day. Dory is so smart she already knows to sit for treat but when it comes to her meals three times a day, all bets are off. She gets very excited for her kibble, plays with her doggie dish when hungry carrying it around but will stay in her open crate until her foster brother is done eating. Dory is crate trained and knows to go into it at bedtime and when we leave for a short time. She doesn't bark or whine knowing its her quiet time. Dory is a very active puppy and when awake she does not sit still very long. She will most likely be a medium to high energy dog that will need a lot of play and exercise to keep her tuckered out. Dory likes to play with a Frisbee and is learning to play ball. Most of all she likes to play rough with her 5 yr old foster brother, Bob.
She is very curious about water and might love the beach when old enough to go. She's still too young for a romp at the dog park but will surely love to play with all active dogs. She likes to run and chase. Once tired, she will lie down sunning herself watching the birds and imitating her big foster brother. Dory is developing very fast mentally and physically and what she learns now will make her become the wonderful companion she is meant to be. She is still learning her boundaries well but with all puppies diligence and constant monitoring are musts.
She is still just a baby, but doing amazingly well with potty training. She just discovered the doggie door and is using it to go outside to potty! Obviously any baby can have a potty accident and puppies need to go out a LOT. Even usually once during the night and early in the morning while their little bodies are growing.
Dory is spayed and up to date on her shots but can NOT play in the outside world yet until she finishes her final round of puppy vaccines in 2 1/2 more weeks. All puppies must have 3 rounds of vaccines to be protected.
Since Dory is still such a baby, she will need a home where someone is home most of the time for a few more months.
Dory has very sharp puppy teeth and will not be placed in a home with little ones for the puppy play-bites hurt even us adults. Dory might like a home with another active pup to show her the ropes. She likes to imitate her foster brother in everything he does. Dory will definitely benefit from an obedience course.

| Derby adopted!
Here he is, the PERFECT gentleman, a young, mellow, unbelievably sweet chocolate boy, ready and willing to become the ideal family member! Derby is such an amazing house dog: he loves to be with you and has perfect house manners, and yet, he’s independent, not clingy or needy. He’s an endearing, wonderful mix of qualities that would do well in most any household.
Derby is, in so many ways, the ideal dog. He loves kids and is quick to bond with them, but he will not interfere with their play or walk off with their toys in his mouth. He would be fine with children of all ages. He likes to play with a ball or a kong, but he’s not possessive of his toys. If a visiting dog or the other house dog wants his toys, he’ll surrender them without a fuss. Derby is GREAT all people, but unlike some other labbies, his loyalty is completely to you.
He is not destructive in the house, but he is very curious (he goes by Derby the Explorer, in his foster home). Derby’s a keen, observant dog, sensitive and intelligent. He uses his intelligence to suss out your routines and rules, and he will try his utmost to fit into your household without making any waves.
He is VERY mellow for such a young dog. In the house, he will lie around happily with just a nice walk in the morning and a walk in the evening. He is not high energy and has very low exercise requirements. For such a playful dog, he is not demanding. If he finds a toy, he will play with it. If you are busy, he will throw his own ball.
He is very good with other dogs, has excellent doggie manners, and LOVES to be around other dogs. He is more playful with his people than with other dogs at first but just needs time to develop a trustful relationship with them before he begins to play. He will spend his time at the dog park sniffing out all the corners and enjoying all the smells before engaging the other dogs. His foster mom thinks he’s just being careful because he’s still intact, and for some reason, that tends to drive the other dogs crazy. Once he’s neutered (in the next day or so), he will relax and make lots of doggie friends. He has been GREAT with the 3 dogs he is fostered with, and he really loves being with them.
He doesn’t have much training, but he has beautiful manners. He is VERY polite. He won’t get on the furniture or lick your face incessantly, steal your slippers, or trip you trying to get you to pet him. He doesn’t jump and is not mouthy. He walks nicely on leash, likes to be beside his person rather than in front. He crates nicely and quietly (though he has to be talked into going in there). He is not a barker or a whiner. He can stay nicely by himself.
That said, he does have some needs. He needs to be with another canine companion. If you leave him at home completely by himself, he will look for a way out. If you are mostly home and willing to crate him or trust him inside your home in your absence, then this might be a situation that would work for him, also.
He also needs regular grooming because his beautiful fur has a fine texture and during the summer months tends to pick up foxtails, which can be very dangerous to dogs.
Derby also needs consistent, gentle but firm handling. He is sensitive and doesn’t much like cars or gardeners’ tools, like blowers and mowers. He does not bark at cars or blowers, just shirks away. He also likes to look for food in the house, so no food on counters. He takes a correction very well, does not run or balk, only the correction can be delivered in a very low tone. Even eye contact works as a correction for him, because he is so smart and sensitive and wants nothing more than to please you.
He will do fine in an active home or a quiet one, because it’s all about how he’s being handled. If his person and family are consistently loving but firm with him, he would be happy almost anywhere. We think he’d make any family happy, too. He’s such a perfectly well-behaved dog, so sweet and mellow, unusually intelligent and attentive. He will be easy to train and is such a wonderful companion, for all people and dogs. We do not know how he would do with cats so will likely not be placing him with them.
He’s 1-2 years old, has all his shots and is micro-chipped and will be neutered in a day or two.

| Calvin 2 adopted!
Meet Calvin, a sweet yellow male labbie boy of just about 3-4 years old. He is a golden yellow color and and a great smaller size for a male lab. Did we mention this guy is about the cutest boy on the planet?
This boy is about 65 pounds, but is a little chunky. He should be closer to 60 pounds at his ideal weight. He is a fun boy who likes his walks, and playing in the yard, so helping him lose a few pounds should be easy. He likes toy and enjoys fetching. He's a playful guy with his toys and people.
He's a very cute boy with soulful eyes who likes to lean against you to be pet. He is a real lover which is why it is so hard to believe we found him is a pretty high kill Los Angeles County shelter confused about where he was and wondering when he would go home! Yet again, a lovely doll baby incarcerated! But not for long! Calvin seemed completely happy to leave with us, hop up into the car - tail wagging - and head off to his new foster home ready to just be a Labrador!
Calvin's coat is a tad dull - pretty good evidence that whoever owned Calvin fed cheap food and kept him outside. We did our best to do a good furmination on him! He was really shedding which tells us no one paid much attention to this angel. A good bath and brush and he is doing great. With good food, an indoor life and a bit of time, this boy will shine like a brand new penny in no time!
Calvin is good with other dogs. He is fostered with a 7 year old female lab and the two get along well. Calvin likes to be friends with other dogs, but doesn't play much with them. He enjoys their company on hikes and at dog park but even in the house he would prefer to be closer to his person.
Calvin is pretty good on the leash, often walking at the end of the leash, but not pulling much - unless there is a teasing bird or squirrel to chase! He is still learning his come command outside among distractions, so off leash in a fenced area only is preferred at first - until he is completely bonded with his new family.
Because he is still a young boy at 3-4 years, he does need his daily exercise. A good walk of about an hour is lovely for him. Trips to the dog park are good for socialization, or playing fetch in the backyard Calvin would love as well.
Calvin is a good boy in the car and house. He stays in the back of the car well and sits or lays down while you drive and is a good boy while you run errands. He is housebroken, but as any new dog in your home, he should be watched at first.
Calvin knows sit, down & come. He responds to his commands best when in the house. When outside around other distractions, he needs some reminding. Calvin settles great in the house & is not a chewer or destructive at all. After a good morning walk, he will settle next to you in the house and rest for a while.
This happy wiggly boy will do great in most homes looking for a medium energy sweetheart. He will do fine with children as well as he is a real people lover! We do not know how Calvin will do with cats therefore; we may not want to place him in a home with them.
Calvin is healthy, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
