| Wilson adopted!
Lovingly sponsored by Gineen Boukalell and family in memory of their Labby Onyx
Meet Wilson, a 1-2 year old, petite, wonderful black purebred Labrador boy. He has a glossy jet black coat, nice otter tail and a stunning Labrador block head. He's a very pretty fellow. Hard to believe this gorgeous gentleman was found in one of Los Angeles County's highest kill shelters where no one claimed him or gave him a second look. Well fine with us becuase purebred Lab enthusiasts will do nothing but swoon for this gorgeous hunk! But what's the real score? His personality. He is beautiful but it's his heart that steals the show! Wilson is a typical bouncy boy around other labs, and wants to play, play play. He is a fabulous candidate for dog park and dog beach and he just loves other dogs. Even though this fella is very bouncy and playful, get him in the house on his own, and he just settles right down beside you for pats and love. then, he wants to return the love by cleaning your entire face for you with kisses. He loves snuggling. Wilson hasn't had much leash training, so a pinch collar helps him to walk nicely on leash. He is doing better each day and will continue to improve his skills with daily walks. He likes meeting other dogs and is a friendly fellow. Wilson loves dog but what's also nice is that he has been around his foster mom's cats and hasn't shown any interest in the house. Of course, these are dog savvy cats, but we do think that he will do fine in a home with kitties. Wilson is a good boy inside and settles down nicely inside so long as he has had exercise. He will play and play if he is with a playful young dog, but will chill out if he is with the older dogs. What is very cute is that Wilson tries to bring in the mail, but the silly stuff keeps sliding out of his mouth! Maybe with practice this guy can fetch your morning paper. Wilson loves the 13 and 17 year old boys in the house but probably would be too bouncy and too mouthy for young children, so we don't really recommend placing him with children under the age of 10. He will be happy as your one an only, or with a doggy companion. But since he is young, his new owner will want to provide ample play time and exercise. Wilson is crate trained and sleeping through the night. He is doing great on his potty training as well! Wilson is going to make some family very happy. With a little more training (he has a fabulous sit) he will be an amazing family companion. If you feel this boy is right for you and you are APPROVED to adopt, please email scartersoo@mac.com

| Coco Bean adopted!
Lovingly sponsored by Vanessa McLean
Meet Coco Bean, an A-Dor-A-Ble chocolate chunky baby bear cub of a purebred Lab who is just so cute we can barely look at her! This doll baby is 6 years old, sweet as sugar and very special. Coco Bean came to us when her family lost their home and were no longer able to care for her or her brother (another dog who went to another rescue). We know Coco was loved but also we could see that she was a little neglected too. Her family overfed her and left her outstide quite a bit without much exercise. Consequently our sweet girl is a little overweight. She has already lost a few pounds and should be a normal weight in a couple of short weeks as she is eating less and taking her daily walks which she just loved. Coco Bean is a perfect Bench Bred English Labrador. She has the looks and the temperament we just adore in this breed. Typical of her pedigree, she is a fabulous wiggler, snuggler, kisser and smiler. She also has the market cornered and being cute and being friendly as can be to every person, dog and cat around. Coco Bean loves other dogs. She would love to have a doggie companion. That said she is currently fostered alone and is doing wonderfully. Of course she enjoys a trip to dog park or meeting some dog friends. Coco is a medium energy Labrador. She will do well with 2 nice 1/2 hr walks a day at a moderate pace. She settles beautifully in the house, is housebroken, non-destructive, not a barker or a chewer, and is just a lovely houseguest. Coco Bean is a dog who can easily certify for therapy work if you wanted to work on her just a little bit. She loves people so much and might be a nice candidate to go into hospitals and visit children. She will do breat in a home with kids over age 5 years of age. This sweet girl has it all except the right forever home. If you feel you have the perfect home to offer Coco Bean and you have been approved to adopt, feel free to contact her respresentative. Coco Bean is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you are approved to adopt and would like to be considered as a forever home for Coco Bean, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Apple adopted!
Lovingly sponsored by Martin David
Meet Apple, an adorable purebred female Golden Retriever puppy. This little girl is 10 months old and only 38 tiny lbs. She is full grown and will aways be a little petite girl. Apple is about as sweet as they come. It's hard to imagine such a cutie ending up in a shelter but she did and when our volunteer picked her up, she was filthy, covered in fleas, and petrified. Very sad for such a nice, girl. Apple is doing so much better now. She is happy, housebroken, loving her toys and foster siblings and just enjoying being a puppy. In typical puppy fashion this doggie loves to play and sleep. She will play with her toys for an hour and then pass out in the middle of her toy pile. It's just adorable. She is quite shy especially at first and she will not do well with young children due to noise and high activity. She is just too shy for the hustle and bustle. Apple loves to retrieve. She is ball crazy. She will go for the ball for as long as you throw it and then dome. And she loves carrying soft toys in her mouth. She is a true retriever. She loves to go to dog park. Apple loves going off leash on hikes and enjoys dog park. Of course as dog park she is more interested in getting the ball than playing but since she is usually with a bunch of other Labs and Goldens, she fits right in!!! At home though, she will play and play with the 2 labs she is fostered with. Apple is crate trained and a good girl in her crate. She sleeps through the night without a peep. Apple is good on the leash and has learned to walk nicely. She is still learning her commands but wants to please. She is not a hyper puppy. She's actually a pretty calm and easy girl. She sticks to her toys and entertains herself. However she is a baby and as such requires a puppy proof home with someone around most of the time and another friendly canine companion if possible. Apple really needs someone willing to accept her for who she is - meanins someone willing to let her come out of her shell at her pace, enjoy life, and be a puppy. There are times she will be VERY mellow and want to sleep and times she will only want to play. She's a complicated special soul. Apple is one special girl. She is healthy, up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. If you feel this girl is right for you and you ahve been approved to adopt, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Shira adoption pending!
Meet Shira, a darling, petite little purebred Golden Retriever girl with a heart as golden as her smile. This little girl is aobut 14 months old and is only 50 little sweet pounds. She is a lovely girl who is well behaved in the house and a pleasure as a house guest. She does like to snuggle up on the couch, but then again, why shouldn't she? Shira loves other dogs and is enjoying playing with her foster siblings. She is always up for a game of ball and is good about sharing with her foster friends. We think Shira spent most of her young life confined possibly to a crate. And we are fairly certain she was partially abused. She is low on confidence and this gentle girl really will do best in a home committed to letting her come out of her shell and shine. Shira has absolutely no aggression and is very good with all people - even children. However because it is her time to be number one, and becuase of her shyness, we prefer to place Shira in a home without small children. Children over 12 who have a soft touch will work fine. Shira is very good on the leash and doesn't pull. She passes other dogs nicely and enjoys her walks. Shira is very good in the house and housebroken. We think she will do best without a crate since we believe she was confined too much in her former life. Shira is a medium energy girl who loves her walks. She will do nicely at dog park where she can continue to socialize and enjoy play with other dogs. She will be great at dog beach too once she is bonded to her person and has a good recall. This gentle, sweet pretty girl deserves the best home. She is a golden treasure! Shira is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you feel this little sweetie is right for you, and you have been approved to adopt, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Mia 2 adopted!
This little sweetheart is Mia. She is a petite, purebred white Labrador female with an adorable disposition and a good heart. She is 5 years old and 49 snuggly little pounds. Mia is quite special. This loving wiggler comes to us from Taiwan where she was pulled out of a government pound. In general this is a death sentence for dogs so Mia was lucky a rescuer brough her to safety! Mia came to rescue in not great shape and it took some time to bring her weight up and take good care of her. After a few months in foster and with outstanding medical care, this perfect girl was cleared to come to the United States to us. We feel so honored and blessed to be a part of such a special dog's journey to a new life. Mia is wonderful in just everyway. She is a lovely houseguest. She is housebroken and uses the doggie door to go potty. She is non-destructive in the house, and she doesn't even attempt to get on the furniture. Mia is wonderful with all other dogs. She is friendly and subissive and happy. She is a low key girl and doesn't get too excited but will partake in play now and then. She loves the company of other dogs. Mia is also very good with cats and pretty much ignores them. She likes her crate and will sleep through the night. Her foster mom makes the crate very comfy for Mia and puts it in her bedroom so Mia is close. She probably doesn't need the crate at all, be it is always nice to crate train every dog so that they have their own safe, snuggly place to sleep. Mia is wonderful on the leash and does not pull. She loves her walks and will do a nice 1/2 hour walk with you if you like. She can do a short hike too if you want. Also she loves dog park and enjoys meeting everyone and saying hello to people and dogs. Mia is good with kids but doens't love them. Loud noisy kids annoy her and sometimes scare her. She's a zen doggie. She will be so perfect for a dog loving household maybe with another friendly canine buddy to hand out with. We won't place her as an only dog if she is to be alone all day. She is used to the company of other dogs and feels happiest that way. Mia is a healthy spayed female. She is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you feel this special girl is right for you and you are approved to adopt, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Berkeley adopted!
Meet Berkeley, a gorgeous, stately, white purebred male Labrador. Berkeley has a nice blocky head and is a medium sized male at 75 lbs. He is an absolute show stopper. Berkeley is an easy going, medium energy 5 year old boy. He's pure joy to have in the house and by your side. He loves his walks, loves being out and about, and loves all people and dogs. Plus he's drop dead gorgeous! Berkeley came to us from a high kill county shelter where he arrived as a stray with his "mate" Jelly, a Golden Retriever female who we also rescued and who has since been adopted from us. Berkeley is very good with other dogs and is currently fostered with several other Labs and a Golden Retriever. He is great with all of them. He seems to really like other dogs. Berkeley will do very nicely with another canine companion - especially a female (though a male can work too). Berkeley is not good with cats. He chases them and is far to intersted in them to be placed in a cat home. He'll do well with teenagers but is a bit goofy for kids. He is a larger lab and he could accidently knock a toddler down. He loves to retrieve a ball and is good about returning it. And he loves his walks. He tends to pull in the beginning but stops once he's in a pace. His new owner will need to continue working with him and probably should use a pinch collar until he totally gets that pulling in not a good thing. Though he is mellow and easy, we think he will love hikes and even jogging with his person if they desire. He is a great combination of mellow, and happy cruising companion when you are in the mood. Actually we think he's quite perfect. He gets super excited at walk time and will try to get out the door so it's important to continue teaching him to wait and get his leash on. He loves going out with his person. Berkeley has been doing well on his housetraining and crate training. He sleeps through the night without a peep. Berkeley is a healthy neutered boy who is recovering from a minor ear infection and eye infection for which he must complete his medication. He is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you feel this sweet boy is right for you, and you are appproved to adopt, please email his representative donna@indilabrescue.org

| Clyde 2 adopted!
Meet Clyde. Clyde is a super adorable, happy Labrador Retriever. He is a male of about 5 years and has a soft, gorgeous pale yellow coat. Clyde is an English or Bench bred Lab meaning he is a stocky guy with a nice blocky Labrador head. This fella is about 75 lbs and is a pale yellow - almost white color.
Clyde was found wandering the streets of Taiwan. He was taken in by a local rescuer and eventually was sent to us after being cared for and vetted and made healthy. His rescuers in Taiwan took excellent care of Clyde and did so much for him. Clyde gained weight, was neutered, and was fostered there before he was brought to us. This easy going boy takes life in stride. After a 24 hour plane trip, Clyde jumped into the backseat of his foster’s car, laid down, and went to sleep. He does amazing on car rides and is a mellow boy. Other than some minor anxiety from time to time when he is left alone, Clyde is the calmest guy around. Clyde is a great dog. He absolutely loves everyone and everything. He likes other dogs and gets along with the two labs he is fostered with. He is just a very happy typical Lab in every way. He likes to follow his foster mom everywhere and to lie at her feet. He would enjoy having an owner who works out of the home so he can supervise all day!
Or would like to go to work with his person. He is definitely well behaved enough to do so! Besides being hands down the most adorable Labrador this boy's temperament is sweet. His doggie social skills are great and he loves all people. He was a complete gentleman during a Christmas party at his foster mom’s house. Many of the guest commented on how well he fit in. Clyde is a very good boy. He sleeps nicely on his dogbed and has learned to use the doggie door to go potty. He is learning his basic commands and knows how to sit. He almost never barks at all and seems quite trustworthy in the house. Clyde enjoys his walks around the neighborhood but probably would not make a great running partner. He enjoys a casual stroll with a few stops to chat with the neighbors.
Clyde likes to carrying soft toys in his mouth. Since he loves the soft toys, he may confuse children’s stuffed animals with his own toys which is to be expected with all dogs. Clyde can be a little mouthy but he uses no pressure with his mouth - just soft grabs to tell you he loves you. Clyde is about as close to perfection as you can get. If you are looking for a medium energy happy guy who loves to be your buddy, this is the guy. Clyde will do best in a home with another friend dog or two to keep him company. He likes a lot of attention and love all the time. Clyde is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. If you think this fella is right for you, please be sure you have been approved to adopt and then follow up with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Autumn adopted!
Meet Autumn, a beautiful and perfect AKC registered purebred Labrador Retriever. Autumn has a heart of gold and is pure sweetness. She is 7 years young and is a calm, easy going girl. Already knows her commands and is a well behaved houseguest. Autumn doesn't ever try to get on the furniture which is a first for most Labs! Autumn came to us from her owner who loved her very much but who did not have time to care for her due to her job and increasing travel responsibilities. Though Autumn was loved and cared for, her former family spayed her late in life and because of that, Autumn developed mammary tumors which we had to remove. Thank goodness this girl is healthy and all is well and she is recovered from her surgery. Autumn is a very quiet, very calm girl. She loves to be where you are, but also likes to have her own space. She loves to be pet and get attention but she is never overbearing. Autumn absolutely loves her walks. She likes to do a nice 2 miles at a good clip and then she starts to slow down a little and sniff around. She is very good on the leash and great at meeting other dogs, however if she sees a cat, she will pull to try to go meet it. She is curious about cats and probably needs a home without them. Autumn was not permitted in the house for the last few years. She is just learning to relax inside again and is enjoying it. She will come right in the front door, but at the back door she waits to come in becuase she has been taught not to come into the house from the yard. This is improving as she is learning that inside is HER house too!!! Just as it should be! Autumn thinks the backyard is for belly rubs, not chasing balls. She might chase a ball now and then but mostly it's just about the belly rubs. Autumn loves being brushed and getting pet. She is very good inside and is not a counter surfer at all. She even ignored food left out accidentally on the coffee table! That's a first! She likes to sleep in the hallway or living room. She seems to prefer this to sleeping next to her foster mom in the bedroom. Autumn is completely housebroken too. And she is not a barker. We have heard her bark three times in her entire time in foster and each time is was on adorable "woof". This special loving dog deserves the most wonderful home. She really is the nicestly sweetest thing. Autumn is healthy, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you feel this perfect angel is right for you and you have already been approved to adopt, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Judson adopted!
Meet Judson, a handsome English style lab with that gorgeous stocky body and such a heart-melting, wrinkly, gorgeous Labby face. Judson is 3 years old and is a calm, easy-going boy. He has a lovely temperament and he is a total love bug. This fella is a prize. Judson knows his basic commands and has been a well-mannered boy for his foster family. We can tell someone paid a pretty penny for him and worked with him at some point. He was not abused or horribly neglected. Yet somehow he lost his home. Whoever adopts this doll will be fortunate indeed as he is a wonderful friend and pure joy to have in the home. Judson came to us from a high kill shelter on the first day he was available. We were so happy to get him out of there as he was such a love bug to all who saw him. He seemed so happy to be free! He rode home nicely in the car and fit right in with his three foster brothers and sister in his temporary home. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs and loves everyone. Judson is a very quiet, very calm boy. He loves to be where you are, but also likes to have his own space. He loves to be pet and get attention but he is never overbearing. If you want he'll roll over on his back and cry with pleasure at a belly rub, but when you are done, he'll just settle near you just in case you change your mind. Judson absolutely loves his walks. He gets very excited when the leashes come out, and has a tendency to pull. But his foster Dad is working with him on his leash skills and he's getting better every day. He is great at meeting other dogs too and passes them nicely. Judson has not been introduced to cats, so no homes with cats for this boy. Judson is a lower energy mellow guy, who doesn't really seem interested in a game of ball toss..mostly just wants a nice walk and belly rub. If you feel this fella is right for you and you are approved to adopt, please shoot an email to reader.family@verizon.net

| Hollister adopted!
Meet Hollister, an adorable, friendly 3 year old yellow male Labrador. He is a cute yellow boy of 67 lbs. with a happy, Labby temperament. Hollister came to us when he ended up at a high kill shelter as a stray. Sadly, the shelter had no picture of him online so no one knew he was there. No family ever came to claim him and on his very last day of safety, our volunteer just happened to see him while looking at a couple other labs. Thank goodness, because boy is this boy a fabulous dog!. Hollister seems to be housebroken - he only had one accident in his foster home the very first day. And of course any dog should be watched at first in their new home. He has been great ever since. Hollister enjoys his walks and is walks fabulously on leash!! He will walk right next to you, never pulling - what a joy he is to walk! In fact, he will even walk right next to you when he is off leash, so he would likely be a great dog to do some off leash hikes with. He enjoys some playtime with other dogs, and also enjoys playing fetch and also carrying around a tennis ball in his mouth too! Hollister can be a little bit shy at first, but warms up well and is a super sweet boy! He is a little unsure around new things, so just needs a family that will introduce him to new things all with a positive experience so he knows what fun the world has to offer him. He is learning that car rides are lots of fun! He does need some coaxing and a lift to get in the car, but once in, he is very mellow and enjoys the ride. This boy does well with all other dogs. He is fostered with 2 other labs (a male and a female) and 2 puggles and he gets along great with all of them! He enjoys some playtime with them, but doesn't require a doggie companion in his new home. Hollister is fostered in a home with cats - and we think he will do well in a home with dog-savvy cats. The cat that stands up to him and is dog savvy, he does great with and just leaves alone. But if your cat likes to run away, Hollister will enjoy chasing the cat. So cats that are not familiar with dogs are probably not the best fit for him. Hollister sleeps all night on a doggie bed and doesn't make a peep. He adores affection from his humans and is a lover and a cuddler! He would love nothing more than a family he can snuggle with in front of the fire or while watching TV! Hollister would do well in a home with a nice, friendly doggie companion or as your one and only. Hollister would likely do well with children, but he can be a bit mouthy at times - sometimes mouthing your hand to lead you to play with him. This could scare a child or be misunderstood by a child, so children over age 7 are probably best for him. He definitely means no harm, and his mouthiness is not hurtful in any way. But many young kids could be concerned by this behavior. Hollister is now neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Oh - and this boy was professionally groomed and is now super clean and soft! He did very well during his grooming appointment. If you would like to add Hollister to your family, be sure to complete an application and follow up with an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Weber adopted!
Meet Weber, an 8 month old purebred white Labrador puppy who is an adorable, sweet youngster who is looking for just the right forever home. Weber was found as a stray and brought into the Carson shelter. He was so darn cute and not in bad shape either that was thought surely someone would be coming for him. We weren't even worried actually. But we were wrong. No one showed up, and this fella sad in his kennel day after day. Whoever owned Weber sure didn't deserve him. We guess someone paid a pretty penny for this gorgeous boy but they let him get out and run away and he is a little underweight so clearly they didn't do their best for this perfect boy. It's a good thing he's with us now because he deserves a whole lot more. He is just so darn special! Weber is a young puppy. He's quick to learn and hiis new family should continue training including maybe a nice puppy class. He pulls on the leash just a little but is a little guy who is light and easy to correct since he is so young. He loves to play. Weber loves other dogs and taking him to dog park would be nice and even dog beach now and then would be a fun outing where he can play with other dogs. Weber has not been tested with cats so no home with kitties for Weber. Weber is a beautiful, lovely purebred puppy that will need a new family who is committed to working with him now and training him so that he can reach his full labby potential and the rewards will be many!!! Weber has typical puppy energy and settles down nicely once he has had exercise. But he is a puppy so lots of exercise, puppy proofing, crate training, etc. Weber is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you feel you are ready for a young purebred Labrador and are prepared to commit to patience, love, training, exercise and more, this doll baby may be right for you. Be sure you have been approved to adopt and then follow up with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Scooter 2 adopted!
Scooter came to us from a very loving family. They had owned Scooter since he was a puppy and had loved him very much! Unfortunately, due to a divorce and having to move to a small apartment with five children, it became very difficult to continue to give Scooter all that he deserves and needs. Thus one of our volunteers took Scooter in so that we could find an amazing home where he will be loved and pampered. What can I say about Scooter other than he LOVES children and all people he has met. So if you have children, he will be terrific with them. He currently sleeps at the foot of the bed of a 10 year old girl with autism. It would be most helpful to Scooter if he could continue to sleep on the foot of the bed of a child or adult. It gives him great comfort to be close to his people. He is amazing with other dogs and has been fostered with another small dog and a Great Dane. He really just wants to please and be with his people. His foster mom is working on training: walking well on a leash, sitting, waiting, car rides (he was terrified at first but now runs to the car to go) and house training. He disliked traveling in cars with the prior owner so they never took him anywhere. His foster mom changed that and has taken him two to three times a day for a car ride. He loves to sit in your lap or right next to you. So taking him in the car should be continued to help him to continue to enjoy riding in the car. After all he has been through, he was having some separation anxiety when left alone. He was so stressed that he would mark the small apartment he was left in. To help with that he has begun crate training. He will really do best to have someone at home most of the time. He will not do well in a two adult working home. If left alone for short periods, he should be placed in the crate and not in the backyard. He had been fed a large amount of food everyday and was allowed to eat throughout the day. Thus, he has become a little overweight. Daily walks and regular feeding times will get him back into shape in no time. He eats right next to another small dog and shows no food aggression what so ever. Not sure how much he had been played with toys. He is learning to have fun with them and run in the backyard. A backyard is a must for him. Plus, a small doggie door so that he can have access to the yard whenever he needs to go is also a must or at least a partially opened door to gain access to the yard. The new owner needs to help him for the first few days understand where his new potty area is. This will help ensure success! He is housetrained now so the new owner will need to be patient as he adjusts to his new home. He had tended to mark his surroundings when left alone but if put in his crate now when left alone, he hasn't marked once. Dogs don't like to mark in the small den (crate) in which they rest. The crate is only used for short periods and not during the night. He really needs someone who will be kind, loving and patient to help him know that he will not have to leave his home again. Will need someone committed to continued grooming to help him look and feel his best. Bichon's need regular grooming to help their hair not become matted. He will touch your heart as he has ours! His foster family will miss this sweet boy very much! He is neutered and UTD on shots. If you have already been approved, you may contact his foster mom for more info or to schedule a visit. Please email her at: resq4labs@earthlink.net

Mariposa adopted
Meet Mariposa, a 4-5 year old, jet black, purebred, English Labrador female. She is a sweet and gentle girl who has a heart of gold. Mariposa is an English bench bred Lab with a beautiful blocky head uncommon in females. She is a gorgeous dog - and will only get prettier as she is currently recovering from flea dermatitis which was the reaction of being bitten up like crazy by fleas and left outside getting itchy, dirty and miserable. But those days are LONG over! Mariposa is about 65 lbs and has near perfect conformation and temperament. She has a darling personality and loves everyone. Mariposa came to us from a high kill shelter where she was slated for euthanisia due to hair loss and a skin problem. She was diagnosed with dermatitis. Her hair loss and bad skin as well as a depressed attitude made her look pitiful at the shelter and she really had no chance to ever make it out alive. In our care almost immediately this angel seemed so much happier and she has been just wonderful. She loves all the attention and even loves her baths. Mariposa already looks a million times better than the first time our volunteer met her. Her hair will grow in in the areas where it is sparse and she will just continue to get prettier and prettier (as if she isn't already!). Mariposa loves to eat and has a nice appetite. She eats her food and takes treats like a lady and has no food aggression. Mariposa is learning her commands of "sit", "down", "stay". She seems to really want to please. She does very well with the dogs she is fostered with and likes to play. She gets along great with everyone. She also seems ok with the cats in the house but may still chase them. Mariposa is a very gentle and easy going girl. She loves her walks and is pretty good on the leash. Mariposa will need time for her hair to grow back in - especially on her bum. She will only be considered to go out to adoption at this stage to someone who is ok with helping her continue to heal and become even more beautiful and luxurious! Mariposa is overall a very health young dog. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you feel this girl is right for you and you are approved to adopt, please follow with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Theodore Bear adopted!
Meet Theodore Bear - or Teddy Bear as we call him! What a sweet young Lab! This boy is about 1.5 years old. He is a handsome chocolate male Labrador who has a gorgeous, soft coat and a snuggly temperament just like a Teddy Bear! Teddy Bear is a perfect size of about 75 pounds. He is a gorgeous English, Bench Bred boy with the easy going temperament we look for in a Lab. Teddy Bear was found as a stray and made his way to one of the highest kill shelters in California. We quickly rescued him to ensure he finds a great new home. This boy has a sweet, playful temperament. He gets along beautifully with all other dogs. Teddy Bear is still a puppy, and loves his toys, dog bones, soft squeaky toys and more. His new family will need to ensure Teddy Bear has some wonderful dog toys to play with daily but NO soft toys. As a young puppy, he has a tendency to tear apart his toys and eat them, so he should be watched while playing with his toys to ensure he doesn't swallow something he shouldn't. This is a typical lab pup behavior. Teddy Bear walks well on leash, rarely pulling, but he can be distracted by exciting things outside - especially birds and squirrels, so it's important that an adult walk him to ensure he doesn't get away wanting to chase a teasing squirrel. Overall Teddy Bear is a medium to low energy Labrador. He's still a young boy, so he is playful and needs daily exercise but he settles beautifully in the house and as he matures will be a low to medium energy boy - not requiring a ton of exercise. Teddy Bear is true to his name and just loves to cuddle! He will crawl up right next to you, and even into your lap if you let him. He likes to be really close to his people and just loves getting belly rubs. He can often be seen just flopping onto his back for belly rubs with people he just met - silly boy. He just loves all people - especially anyone who will give him affection. Teddy Bear does know sit, and is learning his other commands. He is crate trained and does well in his crate with a bone or two to keep him from getting bored. He is also housebroken, but as any new dog in your home, he should be watched at first to ensure he learns your potty routine. Teddy Bear will do well as an only dog or with another doggie companion. He would likely enjoy a home where someone is home more often so he can get more attention from you. Teddy Bear will do well with children, however no small children under age 7 in his home as he is still a puppy who can be found chewing and even eating small child toys. So it just wouldn't be safe for him to go to a home with small child toys that could be very dangerous for Teddy. Teddy Bear will need a home where someone is committed to doing a nice dog obedience class with him to continue his training. And since he is a puppy still, he is bound to make mistakes including playing with things that aren't his toys, counter surfing and the like. So patience and commitment are paramount for his new family. Teddy is easily corrected and is eager to learn and do the right things. He just needs a family to show him the way - what house manners are acceptable and which ones are not. Teddy will do well with a couple walks a day, maybe a trip to dog park or dog beach, and perhaps a hike occasionally. He enjoys activity, but does not require lots of exercise every day. He is a great companion to have around the home with you while working or watching TV. Teddy Bear is a good boy in the car - riding well the entire way. Best to keep him occupied with a bone though as puppies can sometimes be found munching on your seatbelt or blanket in the car when you aren't looking. We do not know how Teddy will do with cats so we will not look to place him in a home with kitties at this time. Theodore Bear is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped! If you think you can give him a fabulous forever home, be sure to complete an application to adopt and follow up with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Oakwood adopted!
Meet Oakwood! This boy is a mellow, gorgeous, chocolate lovebug! He is about 6-7 years old and a chocolate male Labrador with fabulous temperament! He is an adorable boy with a goofy look on his big old head that makes you not be able to stop hugging him. His sweetness and his dopiness combined is just too hard to resist for any of us. Oakwood was rescued from one of the highest kill shelters in Los Angeles where he came in as a stray. This poor guy was sick with kennel cough like so many of the dogs we rescue and needed some time in foster to get well. Just look at him now! He is healthy, happy and loving his new life in foster! Oakwood is still a bit underweight and should gain about 10 more pounds, so like a typical lab, he is enjoying eating his healthy servings of high quality dog food! Oakwood is a mostly mellow boy on the calmer side who loves people and other dogs too. He would make a great companion to another doggie, or would do well as your one and only boy. He is fostered with another male Lab and the two get along great! He gets along great with other dogs and has a nice degree of playfulness too. He is really a happy guy. Oakwood, though pretty mellow, has medium energy and loves his walks! He is great on the leash too, never pulling. He is also great off leash. He's been to the local park with his foster family to play fetch and he stays right with you off leash - what a good boy! Oakwood loves to play fetch. If you have a ball or toy outside, he wants you to throw it so he can run and fetch it. He will do this over and over. But as soon as you put the toy away, he will settle well and forget about it. Oakwood enjoys his car rides - he hops right in all by himself and just lays down to enjoy the ride. He would enjoy going anywhere with you - running errands, picking up the kids at school, or of course fun places like dog park and dog beach too! Oakwood settles beautifully in the house after his exercise and is housebroken too! Of course any new dog should be watched at first in their new home until they understand where their potty place is at your home and what their new potty routine is. Oakwood even knows his commands of sit, down, come and corrects really well with a gentle "no" when necessary. This boy is truly a fabulous loving boy. He enjoys snuggling up to you and getting pet and loved on. He would be a great dog to take to work with you or even if you wanted to train him as a therapy dog - he just has a lovely temperament and can make everyone happy! Oakwood would likely do very well with children of all ages as he is not mouthy. He can get a little jumpy when excited, but he is easily corrected. Of course any large breed dog like Labs can knock a toddler down. We don't know how Oakwood would do with cats, so we will not look to place him in a home with kitties at this time. Oakwood is neutered, up to date on vaccines, flea control and microchipped. He is now just looking for his forever home! If you would like to add Oakwood to your family, be sure to complete an application to adopt and then send an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Remingon 2 adopted!
Meet Remington, a 2 year old black English Style male. This 80lb beauty is as gorgeous as they come. Remington came to a local high kill shelter after being hit by a car. Lucky for him that an IndiLab volunteer was there when he arrived and was able to convince the shelter to release him to our rescue's medical care instead of euthanizing him on the spot. He had a lot of cuts and bruises, but no broken bones! In the second photo you can see he still had a bandage on which had to be cleaned and changed daily. But this gorgeous love bug didn't mind one bit! He just loved the attention. Needless to say he is completely healed and that bandage is long gone. His foster mother shudders to even imagine such a beautiful spirit and gorgeous dog could have left before having a chance to give and receive massive amounts of love. He seems to know his guardian angel was working overtime and is making the most of his second chance. Remington is doing great and his foster mom will be able to explain just how well to prospecitive adopters! Remington will thrive in a home with an older or very calm doggie companion. He is a young dog, and needs daily exercise of at least 30-40 minutes and then he settles nicely happy to be with his human and doggy companions. He is not a slow walker--he loves to trot along at a pretty good clip so if you are a slow jogger he'd be happy to make sure you got a daily run in. But honestly this is a very mellow, very easy going boy!!! Remington is crate trained. He sleeps in his crate at night and wanders in and out throughout the day if you happen to be in the same room (otherwise he's somewhere near your feet). He does not love the crate when you are leaving the house but he is learning very quickly that that is his place and he is being a good boy. He is a fast learner! Remington has a soft mouth taking treats gently from your fingers, does not get up on furniture, gets along perfectly with his foster Labradors, loves everyone who comes to visit and never jumps up on them. He is not a counter surfer, appreciates every act of love you give to him and loves to give his paw to you to let you know how much he appreciates your attention. He is smart, gentle, handsome and extremely loving. He sits nicely on command and is great on the leash once reminded that pulling is not acceptable. When called he races to his foster mom or dad with his tail wagging a mile a minute and so eager to please. What more could anyone want in a forever love? Remington is a beautiful Labrador with a heart so eager to experience life and all its wonderful smells. His gentle ways are constant and obviously the soul of this wonderful boy. Despite his experiences, he shows us no anxiety or pain. Truly remarkable! This incredible Labrador has been rescued from the jaws of death and is ready to make the most of his second chance. Are you his lucky family? He is neutered up to date on his vaccinations as well as flea protection. If your application is in and you have been home checked, you may have the rare opportunity to meet an amazingly beautiful and loving Labrador named Remington. Email his foster family atreader.family@verizon.net to arrange a meeting.

| Maxwell adopted!
Meet Maxwell, or Max as we call him! Max is a stunningly handsome 1.5 year old black male Labrador/Golden Retriever mix. He is a gorgeous boy of about 90 lbs with a beautiful face and expression. He is a very sweet boy. Max came to us when his family could no longer keep him. They got Max as a puppy from a labrador retriever mom and a golden retriever dad. They trained him well and gave him a great life, however they recently found themselves in a different financial situation - having to move to a place that doesn't accept dogs and pregnant with a child on the way. Needless to say we are thrilled to have this boy - he is pure perfection!! Max knows all his commands! He sits, stays, and lays down on command! He also walks very well on leash, pulling just a tiny bit and correcting very well. His previous family clearly spent time training this boy - it shows as he is very well behaved! Max is also completely housebroken and non-destructive when left alone. In his previous home, he was an only dog with both his humans at work all day, so he is used to being alone during the day and is comfortable with it. Of course, since he is still a young boy, it is important that he be exercised before you go to work if you plan to leave him alone for the day! This boy is amazing with other dogs and loves all people. And he is great with cats too! Max's previous home had a cat, so he is accustomed to living with a cat! He really enjoys playtime with other dogs - and he plays very gently with both large and small dogs - what a smart boy! He would do well with or without a doggie companion in his new home. If he doesn't have a doggie companion, he would enjoy trips to dog park, or doggie playdates so he can have some fun playtime with doggie friends. He is fostered in a home with 4 female dogs - both big and small and he does well with all of them! Max is a young boy at 1.5 years old so does need his daily exercise of course, but he settles nicely in the house and loves his doggie bed. He would enjoy walks, hikes, and even trips to dog beach or dog park. And, he will sleep soundly through the night on his doggie bed in your bedroom. We think Max will do nicely with children, but he is a large wiggler so no toddlers for this guy. We will consider children over the age of 6 on a case by case basis. Max is also a great car rider. He will hop right into the car and enjoy the ride. This guy is truly a prize! One family will get very lucky adopting this boy! Max is healthy, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. If you think this is the boy for you, please be sure to complete an application and follow up with an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Jelly adoption pending!
Meet Jelly, a petite and pretty Golden Retriever female. She is just about 2-3 years of age and is a lovely, sweet girl. These photos don't do her justice! It was raining and she was wet and tired! We really must do more photos of this love bug. Jelly is a nice petite Golden Retriever with a ladylike posture and ultra lovely personality. She is love key and gentle and is just now learning what it's like to be a loved, treasured dog. She has a cute little moan she gives when you pet and cuddle her. She just loves it. It doesn't seem that anyone has ever abused Jelly but it is abundantly clear that she was used for breeding Retriever puppies and given not much attention. She certainly was never allowed in a house before, but boy she is loving being a house dog now - sleeping with her people, having a nice boy, and being part of the family. Jelly came to the high kill shelter where we got her with her male mate Berkely - a white lab - who will be available soon. Someone was using them to produce Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever puppies which are very popular. We can tell that Jelly finished nursing her last litter just about 3 weeks ago. It's likely that the dogs got out of the yard and whichever aweful owner they had did not look for them having had the puppies to take their places. We sure are glad we found them as they are both so wonderful. Jelly is good with all other dogs. She is a submissive girl and is a little shy at times. She isn't particularly playful but we suspect she has been bred at least twice in her very young life so hasn't had the occassion to play much or to learn how much fun playing with toys can be. She has probably never had her own toy before. Boy has that changed!!! She now loves carrying stuffed toys around. Jelly is learning all about the good life. She is being such a good girl in her foster home and doing well with her two foster Labrador siblings though at times she is still uncomfortable and keeps her distance. She sleeps through the night in her crate without a peep and is doing her potty outside like a good girl. She is learning all the ropes! Jelly is a calm girl with medium energy. She doesn't pull much on the leash and passes other dogs nicely. She can zig-zag a little but she is still learning what a leash it after all. She likes her walks and will need a good walk every day. In time she will be a good off leash hiking partner but that will have to come after she is well bonded with her person. Jelly was tested with one cat only and did not react at all. However the cat was still and not walking about and it was a dog savvy cat as well. It is entirely possible that she will chase cats though we don't think she would hurt a cat. Unless a home has very dog savvy cats and owners who are willing to work with Jelly if she does cat-chase, we will not consider placing her in a cat home. Jelly will do great with kids over 7. We don't know how she would do with toddlers or very young children. She is fostered with older kids now. She will do great with another friendly canine companion if she is to be alone during the day. And if you are around a lot, she will do great as an only dog. As always, we have no idea how any of our dogs would do as only dogs when owners are gone all day since all foster homes have other dogs. Therefore anyone adopting one of our dogs must be prepared to work with thier newly adopted retriever if they work during the day and have no other dogs for company. Jelly is underweight and needs lots of good nutrition and time to gain a good 10 lbs or so and brighten her coat. Her teeth look good as she is very young, but she definitely will look much better with a little weight on her! She was clearly underfed in her last "home". Jelly is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and micrcohipped. If you feel this angel is right for you and you are approved to adopt, you may email donna@indilabrescue.org to be considered for Jelly

| Satin adopted!
Meet Satin, the prettiest little sweetie. Satin is a purebred 4-5 year old jet black Labrador with a lovely face and darling personality. Satin is medium sized female. She loves her walks and walks nicely on the leash. She has plenty of energy and needs a pretty good walk every day. After exercise settles nicely In the house. She is great walking off leash on the trails. She loves to explore and definitely makes a great walking and hiking partner because she is so friendly and just loves to be out and about. Satin also loves the water and is a good swimmer. She enjoys swimming in the pool and we think she will love dog beach! Satin appears to be housebroken too. She goes outside on her own to potty. Her foster usually leaves the back door open but also Satin is using the doggie door as well so if she goes to a new home without a doggie door, her new owners will just need to show her the ropes! Satin is good with other dogs. She enjoys their company and is great about sharing space. She also is very good with cats and basically ignores them making her a very good girl for families with felines! Satin loves her chew toys. She has a nylabone she loves to chew and she likes her Kong as well. She also loves to chew on tennis balls and bully sticks and raw hides. She enjoys fetching the ball as well. Satin knows to sit on command. We tried doing shake and are hoping she will have that down as well by the time she is adopted. She seems to want to please her person very much. Satin does not like the crate at all. She gets nervous in the crate and will cry. She is not a candidate for crate training at all. The good news is she doesn't need the crate for potty training or sleeping. She is not destructive and she is housebroken so a crate is really not necessary. When leaving her alone, she does great in the yard with her foster siblings. She will do her best in a home with another dog or two or where someone is around a bit more often. She won't do well as an only dog without company if she is left alone. Satin is a velcro dog loves to be where you are. She loves dog beds and will go to her dog bed to lay down. She is also great in the car and rides very nicely. Satin will do fine in a home with older children but we prefer not to place her with toddlers and she can be wiggly and knock them over. Kids over age 7 willl be fine. Satin is a healthy girl who is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you feel this sweetie is right for you, and you have been approved to adopt, please send an email to therosegarden21@aol.com

| Brody adopted!
Meet our Brody, handsome beyond, beautiful huge English block head, paws like a black bear, heart like an angel. Brody is a black purebred English bench bred Labrador. He is about 7 years old and about 85 stocky healthy pounds. Brody has a soft mouth taking treats gently from your fingers , does not get up on furniture, gets along perfectly with his foster Labradors, loves everyone and never jumps up on them when they come to visit, is not a counter surfer, appreciates every act of love you give to him and is learning to give his paw up to you when you gently tap it to shake. He is smart, gentle, handsome and extremely loving. What more could anyone want in a forever love? Brody was not given a good life but he is not one to hold grudges. Labradors are meant to be inside with their families to both love them and be loved and to protect them by alerting them to a prowler or something just not right going on outside. Instead this bright beautiful boy was kept as an outside dog which is not how Labradors are meant to be treated. His was a lonely life he did not deserve and after seven years his family decided their children were allergic to him, which probably means a new puppy for Christmas, and they took him to the high kill shelter in Camarillo. We were able to place a save on this boy mere hours before they would have euthanized him. His foster mother shudders to even imagine such a beautiful spirit and gorgeous dog could have left before knowing the love he had to give and the love he will receive. This incredible Labrador has been waiting for all these years to love and to be loved. Are you his lucky family. Brody loves to get the ball and run and race his foster labs in the safe fenced area of two and a half acres he is fostered in. It is a joy to see how fast he runs free and loved with the ocean as the back drop for his joy. When called he races to his foster mom tail wagging and so eager to please. He has not been in the pool as yet as he is healing from his neuter and can't swim for a little while longer. Brody is a beautiful Labrador with a heart so eager to finally experience his life as it should have always been, inside next to his family members. His gentle ways are constant and obviously the soul of this wonderful boy. He is neutered up to date on his vaccinations as well as flea protection and about to have a dental cleaning. If your application is in and you have been home checked, you have the rare opportunity to meet an amazingly beautiful and loving beyond Labrador named Brody. Brody is one of our most treasure and beloved foster pups. If you are fully approved and have interest in perfection, please email judith judithcoursonburton@gmail.com

| Stella Rose adopted!
Meet Stella Rose, or Stella as we call her! This girl is a 2 year old amazing purebred female English AKC Yellow Labrador Retriever. She is a very light cream/white color and has a nice thick coat.
Stella came to us from her owner who was losing her home and could no longer keep Stella. While Stella had a great start to her life, due to her family's financial situation, she had to spend the last year of her life living outside in the yard with another large breed dog. She was rarely given any attention or exercise at all. No lab should ever have to live that separate from their people - they just adore affection from their humans. Stella is a darling pretty girl with a short, stalky body like an English lab should have! She is a perfect size at about 65 pounds and she is full grown. Stella does well with all other large breed dogs - getting along great with all of them. She is not that fond of smaller dogs who can bark and yap a lot which Stella finds quite annoying.
Stella would do great in a home where she is an only dog, or as a doggie companion to a large breed dog. She is not really playful with other dogs, so likely will not be a good playmate for another dog, but she does enjoy their company. Stella does enjoy chasing kitties a lot, so we will not look to place Stella in a home with cats at this time.
Stella is a low to medium energy girl. She will enjoy fetching a ball once or twice, but she does not have the desire or energy to fetch over and over again. After about the 3rd throw she will just go lay down - silly girl. Stella is still learning how to walk on leash, she doesn't pull on leash at all, which is lovely, but she does zig zag in front of you a lot. Her foster mom is working on teaching her to remain at her side while walking - no zig zagging. She is learning quickly and we are certain if her new family spends a little more time on this she will be a great leash walker in no time! Stella knows a couple commands - she comes when called, and she also knows "no" if you want to correct her. She corrects easily, and is food motivated, so should be an easy girl to train on commands of sit, down and more. She takes treats very gently - what a good girl!
Stella is completely housebroken and has lovely house manners. She is also a perfect snuggler!! If you are looking for a snuggle buddy on the couch or bed, Stella is your girl - she just loves to be right up next to you, and even will wiggle her way onto your lap if you let her. She just adores affection from her people! As a true labbie girl, she just adores all the people she meets! Stella does well when left alone - she is non-destructive - unless you count the roll of toilet paper she munched on.
Stella would probably do best in a more calm and quiet household. She is easily excited and has missed so much attention over the last year, she jumps up at any opportunity to get affection and attention from people. A home where kids are running around and people are coming and going very often will likely give her too much stimulation and make her anxious. We want Stella to enjoy the love of her humans, but we also want her to enjoy a calm, stable way of being and a home with a lot going on might be too much for her. Stella is a quiet girl - never barking even once! She is crate trained and will settle nicely in the crate once she is in. She is still learning about doggie toys, but is starting to enjoy tossing her soft doggie toys in the air and playing with them - sometimes carrying them around with her - it's so cute to see her learn all the fun doggie things in life! Stella is non-destructive when left alone, but we would like to find a family who is home more often for this sweet girl. She loves the affection of her people so much, and had to spend the last year with little to no attention from her family, so we don't want this girl to be left alone all day while her family is at work.
Stella will do best with a family that likes a velcro dog who loves to be by your side, and also a family that will take her out to do a lot of fun things. This snuggle bunny deserves the best home!
Stella is now spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. All she needs is to find her forever home!
Stella Rose will give so much love back to the family that adopts her and helps to give her the affection, attention, exercise and more that she so deserves in life!

| Clyde Goldbear adopted!
Meet Clyde Goldbear, the cutest little retriever bear cub puppy ever. This little guy is pure sweetness and will be available to go home with a new family in the next week. Clyde Goldbear is a beautiful Golden Retriever/Labrador Retriever baby. Mom was a purebred White English Lab and Dad was a purebred Golden Retriever. Sadly the owners though it woudl be nice to "breed" them together and Clyde and his siblings were the result. Though his sister and brother went to relatives, Clyde was lucky enough to be given to rescue to find a home for him. And his parents hopefully will be altered after a big lecture from us. Meanwhile this little fellow needs a good loving forever home! Clyde is 6 weeks old and has had his first set of shots a little early. Mom stopped nursing the babies at 3 1/2 weeks so they were bottle fed. At 4 weeks old Clyde Bear came to us. He will need his new family to give him his second shots and third shots and until he is fully immunized, he must be completely protected from the outside world. This also means no shoes in the house, using hand sanitizer, and all other precautions everyone should always use when having a puppy in the house! No dog park or any park. Puppies need to stay home until they recieve their final round of immunizations. Clyde is fostered with 2 Labby foster brothers who have been teaching him the ropes. He loves them and he sure love to play with them and with his toys. Clyde Goldbear's new home should be prepard to potty train and crate train. They should have tons of kongs and chew toys and soft toys!!! They need to be ready! Clyde is just a baby so he will need a puppy ready home with someone home all the time in the beginning. He will need a nice crate and crate training. And he will need a family prepared to do all that is necessary to raise a healthy happy boy. You absolutely must be an approved family to email about Clyde. If you are not approved with a homecheck, there is a change we will not respond to your email. You must be homechecked and approved and you must have someone home during the day, a crate, and know a little something about doggies! This little fella will need to go out with a neuter contract and deposit. His adopter will need to show proof of his neuter and follow up vaccines. If you feel you are ready for a little baby, and you are approved to adopt, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Aubrey adopted!
Meet Aubrey, the sweetest, darling female fox red lab. Wow is this girl a prize as Fox Red Labs are uncommon! This girl is 3 years old and on the smaller side at 60 pounds and is a lovely combination of happy labbie energy and nice indoor mellowness. Just look at those loving eyes, and the gorgeous wrinkles and coloring on her face - she is a very special girl!
Aubrey does need her daily exercise as she is still a young Lab at age 3, but she is the perfect mix of fun and easy. She is a gentle girl who loves to be loved and pet. She will sit right up next to you just to get attention and nudge you with her nose when she wants more attention. She is really a lady with a sweet, gentle, calm temperament!
Aubrey came to us from a high kill shelter where she was found as a stray and we rescued her just in time. Hard to believe she ended up at a shelter, because she is just a treasure to have as a pet!
Aubrey is a low to medium energy girl - requiring a couple walks a day, maybe a hike occasionally or a trip to dog park or dog beach. She can pull on leash, so is best walked on a pinch collar. Her foster mom is working to teach her to heel. She will likely do well in a home with kids - as long as they are not rough with her - she is not a rough housing type of dog, but is more of a sweet, loving girl who just wants to be next to you and be loved. She would be a great dog to go to work with you, if your office allows it!
Aubrey settles beautifully in the house after she has had her exercise. She likes to be close to you and nap at your feet. She hasn't tried to get up on any furniture - she is a true lady! She is housebroken and not destructive, but as any dog, she should be watched at first in her new home. Aubrey is good with other dogs. She has met many other dogs and she does beautifully with all of them. She would do great as an only dog or with another doggie companion. She is currently fostered with 2 other female labs of 9 years and 1 year old and they get along great. She doesn't really have any interest in playing with other dogs, so she probably wouldn't be a good playmate for another dog, but she gets along well with other dogs as companions. Aubrey is very calm and mellow in the house - she is really such an easy girl to have around! She is gentle in greeting people she meets, not jumping up on them at all. She will lay at your feet while you watch TV or work on the computer. She is just a treasure - and a peaceful addition to your home! Aubrey is a good girl in the car. She might ask for a little boost to get in the car as she doesn't seem like she's gone for many car rides yet. But once in, she will whine for about 5 minutes and then settle right down and lay down quietly for the rest of your drive. She is good running errands around town too - waiting patiently in the car for you to come back to her! Aubrey could go to a home with dog-savvy cats. She is not aggressive towards cats at all, and does not bark at them. She is mostly curious about them, and if the cat is dog-savvy not running and hiding right away, she will do well with them. But a cat that runs can often be an invite for a dog to chase, so if she goes to a home with cats, her family needs to commit to working a little with her and the cats in getting to know each other.
Aubrey takes treats very gently. She is learning "sit" in her foster home and we are sure she will learn her other commands very quickly in her forever home. She is a gentle "lady" so she doesn't need a strong leader - just a calm person to show her what to do and what not to do. She corrects very easily - just needing a gentle "no" when necessary.
Aubrey is spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped and current on flea control.

| Milagro adopted!
Meet Milagro (or Mila as we affectionately call her!) Mila is a beautiful petite purebred English girl who is AKC pedigreed and comes with a perfect temperament. She is sweet, gentle, loving and cuddly. What a nice girl she is. Mila's family had to move into smaller quarters which made them want more for Mila than they could offer. They contacted us and we were enchanted when we met Miss Mila the gentle English Lady. It was hard for her family to let this girl go and they were heartbroken over it. It was important to them that we found this girl only the very best home we could. She is used to being loved an adored and we want that for her again. She is being fostered with three Labradors and gets along beautifully with her pack. She really loves other dogs and loves all people too. She is a very affectionate girl who loves to be with her people and is so easy going she gets on with everyone. Mila is not high energy but very mellow and laid back for a four year old Labrador Milas foster mother adores her and loves snuggling with this shinny loving girl with a coat made of silk. She will do well with a walk in the morning and evening or a trip to the beach or dog park. Mila will do well as an only dog or with an equally sweet and submissive dog who is her size not larger and dominant. She is up to date on vaccinations as well as flea protection. If you are interested in this sweet licorice kiss of a girl she is being fostered in Santa Barbara at the east edge of Hope Ranch. If you feel this sweet girl is right for you and you have been homechecked and approved, please contact judith courson burton judithcoursonburton@gmail.com

| Lady Bug adopted!
Meet Lady Bug, an adorable purebred chocolate female Labrador of about 6 years or so. This pretty girl is as nice on the inside as she is on the outside! Lady Bug is a very sweet dog. She loves all people and all dogs and has a very gentle way about her. She gets alone well with all dogs she meets and is doing particulary well with her foster mate Mulligan, a black male Labrador Lady Bug is a medium to low energy girl. She loves her walks though and gets so happy and smiley when it's time to "go". She walks beautifully on leash and does not pull. She also passes other dogs nicely and greets them and their owners equally well. Lady Bug is housebroken and knows her commands too. She is a good girl in the house and settles beautifully. She loves to retrieve a ball or a Kong and enjoys playtime too. This sweet girl is in nice shape. She suffers from chronic ear infections as many Labs do. Currently she doesnt' have an ear infection but we can see from one of her ears that she has had them regularly over the years. Her new owners will want to keep her ears very clean all the time. Lady Bug is a very nice family dog. She will do well alone or with another friendly canine companion. We think she will do great with kids too and if they throw the ball now and then she'll love that. Lady Bug is spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you feel this special girl is right for you, please be sure you have been approved to adopt. If you want to meet this sweetie, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Verde adopted!
Meet Verde, the most darling 6 month old female Labrador puppy ever. What a little dream she is! Verde is a snow white Labrador puppy, only 35 lbs and so cute. She is an American Field Labrador and has beautiful longer legs and the sweetest face ever. We think she will grow to be a 55 lbs Lab. She will not be a large girl. Verde is a very calm and easy puppy. She is also a shy girl. She has a mellow temperament and will be a calm dog. However she is still a baby so she's going to need her play time and socialization. In the house she is very good. She likes her naps and enjoys playing with the other dogs. she is not a high energy dog and is not particularly destructive as are so many puppies. This sweet little peanut came to us from Kern county. She was found in a high kill shelter with no options. Someone clearly purchased her from a breeder so it was surpised how quicky they threw her away.. Verde seems to be housebroken. We are taking her out a lot and she does her potty outside for which she receives abundant praise! Verde is showing all the signs of just outgrowning the tiny puppy stage. She still jumps up asking you to pick her up in your arms and she still tries to get you to hold her in your lap. Even in the car she is learning she cannot lay in your lap. It's very cute and she is being a good girl learning that she is no longer small and must behave like a big girl now. Verde is good on the leash and does not pull. She is very good with other dogs and is even good with cats!! She will need a patient home as she is slightly undersocialized and shy. She can be afraid of large men, biccycles, strollers, etc. and may bark at them. She just doesn't understand. So her foster mom is helping her to not be shy or afraid. So far she is really doing well!!! Her new owners should plan on spending lots of time with her. Puppies her age need the attention and love at this age. Her new owners may want to consider a dog walker to assist them if they step out. And they will need to work on crate training her to keep her safe when they leave the home. Verde will do great with another friendly dog who can be both an educator and a potential playmate. She will also do well as an only dog too. We will not place her with children under age 8. Mostly because she is shy and does need time to come out of her shell. Verde is healthy, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed. If you are approved to adopt having completed your homecheck, please feel free to email donna@indilabrescue.org.

| Collin adopted!
Introducing Collin! Collin is a 1 year old purebred Labrador with dew claws removed. He's a pretty boy with a dark chocolate coat and a nice head. Collin is about 65 lbs and a medium sized boy. He has a gorgeous tail and face and is a little on the cute goofy looking side. We think he is just adorable. Collin came to us from a high kill La County shelter. He was found as a stray and we not redeemed. We were suprised as he is nicely bred and pretty and his lack to dew claws tells us he is an AKC registered Labrador most likely. That said he wasn't neutered or microhipped making one think whoever bought was was clearly an expensive dog, did not bother to do anything to protect him or be responsible. Collin arrived to us pretty sick with a cold so we waited until he was feeling better to have him neutered. Now that that is done, this puppy is well on his way to settling down a little bit. Collin is only a year old and still a puppy really. He is not well trained and has lots of energy so that neuter has already made a huge difference in this boy who just needs a little training and exercise to find his true potential. Collin has a nice personality and just loves people. He is good with other dogs but he is still socially akward a bit. His owners who never neutered him, also never taught him to walk on leash or meet other dogs. Needless to say, he is learning this stuff in foster now! So far so good and Collin has continued to show us he is a nice boy with so much potential for being a solid canine citizen. Collin has a nice athleticism to him. He will be a great hiking partner and moves really well. He would love to be your best buddy on hikes and jogs or even maybe can learn to hunt with the right training. He is smart as a whip and wants to please but no wimps please! Like a good horse, Collin knows if you are a push over! He likes clear direction and he wants to make you proud of him. He is a fine dog!!! Collin will do best in a home with lots of exercise first and foremost and following that should be plenty of training. These two things will promise you the best dog you could ever hope for and more. The return on a dog like this wil be spectacular. This dog is a diamond in the rough and the right owner will present the world with the true gem he is. Collin's new home will have strong leadership and may even have a nice friendly dog for Collin to be a buddy with. He likes to play and might like a similarly young friend. But still, he can do great with another older dog too providing his new owner gives him plenty of exercise. Collin has not been tested with cats so we will not place him with them. He likes children but is a goofy youngster so no kids under 10 for this doll. If you are looking for a very nicely bred purebred boy with promise and you can offer the exercise and training a young Lab needs, please be sure you have been approved to adopt and then follow up with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Charlee adopted!
Meet Charlee, a beautiful purebred white English female Labrador. She is just 55 lbs and is just about 4 years old. She has beautiful conformation, a perfect otter tail and a nice blocky head. She's really a pretty girl. Charlee's family lost their home not long ago and they gave her to a relative to care for. The relative would have loved to keep Charlie if they could take on another dog but they cannot at this time so they contacted us. Charlee is a typical young Labrador. She's got plenty of energy, love to take the trails and run at dog park and loves her walks. She can sometimes be a puller though she does not pull her foster mom one bit on a prong collar. Her new owner will need to use a prong collar and will see that Charlie never pulls on the leash when walked properly. Charlee is very good with other dogs. She is currently fostered with 6 other Labradors and is doing great. She also seems ok with cats at times and then at other times will chase them so we think no kitties for Charlie unless the owners are not overprotective with their cats and the cats are dog savvy and can scratch her nose if needed. Charlee loves to swim and eat. Those are her two favorite things in the world. If you have a pool it must be fenced or Charlie will swim all day long and never stop. And when it's time to eat, you have to tell her to sit and wait. She eats very very fast and would do best with one of those bowls designed to slow her down. After all she is a Labrador! Charlee has a lot of energy but after her exercise she is very, very mellow in the house. She is almost a house couch potato which is really nice! BUT if you don't give her exercise she will bother you until you do! Charlie loves the car and rides nicely. She gets right in and is pretty good about riding with other dogs too. This beautiful girl seems to like kids and and in her former home lived with 2 little girls. Charlie will do great as your one and only girl or with another friendly canine companion. She will do best with a submissive dog as she likes to be a little bit in charge. She gets on beautifully with 7 other Labradors in her foster home so we know she is good with dogs. Charlie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and healthy. All that's needed now is a new amazing forever home. If you are approved to adopt please contact donna@indilabrescue.org to meet Charlie

| Tater adopted!
Meet Tater, a goofy adorable Labrador puppy of 7-8 months. He's a real cutie and a bundle of love and wiggles! Tater is just darling. He's a puppy for sure with his happy expressions, playfulness and energy. And he's stil a little guy growing. He is so cute that you can't help but hug and kiss him and smile like crazy watching him just be adorable! Tater loves to play and run and he is just a wonderful gorgeous little fellow with nothing but sweetness to give. He loves everyone, every dog and life is just plane GOOD! Tater is waiting for just the right family to love him, train him and give him all the things puppies need to be solid canine citizens!!! He wants to please so badly and is going to be the star of any puppy class! Tater was found as a stray and brought to a very high kill shelter where he was in danger. He was not microchipped at the time (he is now) so that reduced his hold time to just 4 days from the date of impound. Needless to say, his life was in immediate danger. Our volunteer met this happy fellow and he was on his way to us in no time. It's hard to believe someone probably paid for a Lab puppy only to have him get out and run away and then not even look for him. Still he we couldn't feel luckier to have this darling pup in our care. Tater is doing great in his foster home where he is learning all his commands and doing fabulously. He is completely housebroken and is great at leash walking. He is a typical Labby who wants to please but mostly wants to wiggle. Tater gets alone great with other dogs and loves to play. He will just love going to dog park every day and romping with the other young dogs. It's a great way for him to continue his socialization and burn off energy at the same time! And watching him play is so much fun! Tater is a good boy in the crate and a good boy in the house after he's had his puppy exercise. He's going to be a mellow dog but for now he is a puppy and needs to romp and run and have a good time! After his dog park and off leash running, he settles beautiful and konks out in true puppy fashion. Tater is so adorable and goofy. He has a beautiful face and then he breaks into his goofy smile! His ears are longer than most and it adds to his adorableness! He is just irresistably cute. Tater is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. All he needs now is a great forever home! If you are approved to adopt and would like to meet this cutie, please be sure to email his foster mom at reader.family@verizon.net

| Franny May adopted!
Meet Franny May, a darling chunky Labby girl who is so sweet and adorable. This doll is a black beauty with a lovely personality and gentle nature Franny May is a shorter stockier girl and is about 15 lbs overweight. She has shorter ears and may be a slight mix of some sort. She is really a special girl. Franny came to us from a high kill county shelter where she would have been in danger had we not gotten her out. She seems truly grateful to be in foster with us. It was noted that her family turned her in due to allergies. Pretty sad to have left such a nice sweet dog in a kill shelter though - even if you are allergic to dogs. Franny is the friendliest sweetest dog. She loves all dogs and all people. She is just slightly shy but warms up to her person in her sweet manner. She is wonderful with other dogs and very submissive with them. she is a very submissive dog in general. Franny is a medium energy girl who is super low key and mellow in the house. Yet she LOVES her walks too. She will do a 4 mile hike without batting an eye and love it. But she is super chill and mellow too. She is wonderful on and off leash. On leash she never pulls and passes other dog perfectly. Off leash she stays near you and comes back when called. Her favorite thing to do on the trails other than smell things and romp around, is to hunt gophers! Franny has not be tested with cats and becuase she is so interested in gophers and squirrels we think maybe she'll chase cats too. So we will not place her with them at this time. Franny is housebroken and non destructive. She likes to carry a Kong around in her mouth though and her new home should have a couple of Kongs for her since she likes them. She does not use the doggie door as she is scared of it thus far, but we think she is curious enough about the other dogs using it that this will change really quickly. Franny is great in the car and likes the car very much. That said she is afraid to jump in the car so her foster mom is picking her up and putting her in which so far is fine. We think in short order she'll jump right in. She is really a wonderful and easy dog who is so loving and sweet. Franny is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. If you feel this sweetie is right for you and you have been approved to adopt, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Stevie adopted!
Meet Stevie the wonder dog! This gorgeous love machine is a 6-7 year old purebred yellow Labrador male and is a special needs boy. Stevie is completely blind and would love a forever home that knows just how special he is! We found Stevie at the shelter where his owners dumped him and where he was scheduled to be euthanized. Our volunteer met him and was horrified to see a petrified, shaking dog unable to see anything. He was confused and scared. We cannot understand how someone could do such a thing to their dog. It broke our hearts and we immediately rescued this sweet boy. What we came to find out was that Stevie is downright amazing. We hit the lottery with this fella. Even though Stevie cannot see, he does REALLY well in his foster home! He learned the entire layout of the home almost right away and even uses the doggie door to go out and potty. His sense of smell and sound has made up for his blindness and he is also very smart. Stevie really doesn't care much that he can't see. He's happy all the time and absolutely adores his foster Dad and Mom and foster Labby siblings. Stevie is a beautiful pale yellow boy with a gorgeous head. He is wonderful with other dogsl. He is good on the leash, non-destructive, and settles beautifully in the house. He's pretty close to a perfect pup in every way! Stevie loves to be with his people and is quite the velcro doggie. He loves to be just where you are when you watch TV or are on the computer. He loves to have a nice doggie bed next to your bed at night so he can be with his people. Stevie's foster parents say he has a few special things on his wish list for a perfect forever home. For starters Stevie will do his best in a home with another friendly canine companion because he will learn the layout and rules best from another dog. This would be helpful for Stevie AND his new owner. Stevies new family needs to be patient and loving. Stevie is like a little child. He navigates really well by himself and is mellow so lays around a lot but he will need guidance during the transition period he shouldn't be left alone for too many hours each day until he really knows the layout of the home as he could be hurt. Stevie cannot go to a home with stairs and if there is a pool, it must be fenced to keep Stevie safe. Stevie is 100% housebroken and doggie door savvy. To teach him the way to the doggie door, his foster dad has hung a small air freshener over it. Stevie is used to the different smell and quickly learned exactly how to get outside. He has not had ONE accident in his home!!! Stevie needs to keep his name - at least for awhile. He knows it and being blind, it's very important that his recall remain solid. Finally Stevie would love a nice squeaky tennis ball. He can't run and chase the ball yet but he loves the ball and the noise so his foster mom and dad squeak it for him and put it in his mouth. He loves that game! Stevie is a wonderful dog. Yes he is blind but it doesn't hold him back and he does as well as any seeing dog in his home. He's beautiful, affectionate, knows commands, good on leash, perfect with other dogs, housebroken, and as sweet as they come. Stevie is healthy, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you feel this very special boy is right for you, please be sure you have completed your application to adopt and then contact his foster dad at Sbixler@cmcsnet.com to learn more!

| Diesel adopted!
Meet Diesel, a gorgeous AKC purebred male yellow lab! Diesel has a gorgeous golden color and soft healthy coat. He is 4 years old and is a purebred AKC yellow lab who will come with his AKC registration. He is about 100 pounds and needs to lose about 15 pounds to get to his perfect weight, so he will gladly welcome you on walks, dog park visits, and playing fetch in the yard to get in shape. Diesel came to us from his previous owners who got him as a puppy from a reputable breeder. They adored Diesel greatly, but unfortunately the current economy has them working more than they planned and no longer able to give Diesel the love and attention he deserves. Diesel has a known history - he is great around kids - although any lab could knock a toddler down, and fabulous around other dogs too! This boy is a happy, social lab - he just loves all people and other doggies too. He loves his walks, going to dog park and just lying at your feet when you are at home. He is a great, medium energy boy, sometimes wiggly lab who will give you lots of love! As a medium energy boy, Diesel does enjoy his activity and exercise. He is currently enjoying a 3 mile walk in the morning and a dog park trip in the afternoon and he is loving it - thanks foster mom! Diesel would likely make a good hiking buddy. And once he loses his extra weight, he might be a jogging buddy once a week or so. After his exercise, he settles right in at home and enjoys laying at your feet and looking out the window. Diesel knows his commands of sit, down and come! What a good boy. He is not normally jumpy, but of course if you get him excited in play, he may jump up on you. And he is not mouthy either - good boy! He is a typical lab who wants to be with you and will follow you from room to room - happiest being where you are. Diesel is completely housebroken and knows how to use the doggie door too. In his previous home, he was accustomed to spending his days indoors with doggie door access to his yard for potty breaks. He is trustworthy when left alone too. Diesel is used to being an only dog, so he is comfortable with that... or he could be a good doggie companion too, as he is great around other dogs! If he is an only dog, he would enjoy trips to the dog park, or doggie playdates so he can have a little playtime with some friends. Like many Labs, Diesel is a strong boy on leash, so he is best walked on a pinch collar or other training collar. He is learning to heel well in his foster home, but if he should see a teasing squirrel, he is certain to pull you as squirrels were meant to be chased! Diesel is great in the house! He is housebroken and not destructive. He settles well after his exercise, often lying at your feet, or on the floor next to the bed. And of course he sleeps in the bedroom with you - preferably on your bed as that is most comfy, but he could certainly be on his dog bed instead. We do not know how Diesel will do around cats, so no kitties for Diesel at this time. Diesel was raised in a family with kids and has done great with them, so we are confident he would do well in a home with children. But don't forget that any excitable lab can knock a child down. Overall he has a medium energy level, where given a couple good walks a day he will settle nicely. And of course he would enjoy playing fetch in the backyard, trips to the dog park, dog beach or other activities where he can be social with his doggie friends. He also rides great in the car! Diesel is neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his shots and flea control. If you would like to add this beautiful yellow boy to your home, be sure to complete an application and follow up with an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Hutch adopted!
Meet Hutch, an 8 month old purebred yellow Labrador puppy who is a lovely, sweet youngster who is looking for just the right forever home.
Hutch was found as a stray and brought into the Carson shelter. He was so darn cute and not in bad shape either that was thought surely someone would be coming for him. We weren't even worried actually. But we were wrong. No one showed up, and this fella sad in his kennel day after day.
Whoever owned Hutch didn't deserve him. We guess someone paid a pretty penny for this gorgeous boy but beyond feeding him, did nothing to incorporate him into their home. He must have been adorable as a baby tiny guy and then once he was a little larger ended up stuffed out in the yard with no attention. So it's a good thing he's with us now because he deserves a whole lot more. He is just so darn special!
Hutch is a young puppy. He is learning a few things in foster but his new family should continue training including maybe a nice puppy class. He pulls on the leash a little but on a prong collar he's doing much much better. He loves to go for walks and he loves to run around. We think he'll love going on hikes with his person or even jogs now and then too.
Hutch likes other dogs and taking him to dog park would be nice and even dog beach now and then would be a fun outing where he can play with other dogs.
Hutch seems to not really know what cats are. He sort of ignores them but we think he maybe hasn't warmed up to them. We can't say if he will or won't chase cats yet as for now, he just has not noticed them much. We'll have to keep you updated on that.
Hutch is a beautiful, lovely purebred puppy that no one did much to nurture. His new family must be committed to working with him now and training him so that he can reach his full labby potential and the rewards will be many!!!
Hutch has typical puppy energy and settles down nicely once he has had exercise. He is doing well on housebreaking and is wonderful overnight in his crate. He sleeps the night through without a peep.
Hutch is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
If you feel you are ready for a young purebred Labrador and are prepared to commit to patience, love, training, exercise and more, this doll baby may be right for you.
Be sure you have been approved to adopt and then follow up with an email to scartersoo@mac.com

| Violet adopted!
Meet Violet, a 4 year old, jet black, purebred Labrador female. She is a sweet and gentle girl who has a heart of gold. Violet is in between an English bench bred Lab and a more field style Lab. However she has a nice block head making her a truly beautiful and exception looking dog. She is about 65 lbs and should be more like 70 at ideal weight. Violet came to us from a high kill shelter where she was slated for euthanisia due to hair loss and a skin problem. She was diagnosed with dermatitis. Her hair loss and bad skin as well as goopy eyes and a depressed attitude made her look pitiful at the shelter and she really had no chance to every make it out. I our care almost immediately this little star brightened and she has been just lovely and sparkly and wonderful. She loves her medicated baths her foster mom gives her and she stands nicely in the tub while you wash her. She also loves to be towel dried and relishes all the attention and care. Violet already looks a million times better and is so clean and healthy looking now. Her hair will grow in in the areas where it is sparse and she will just continue to get prettier and prettier (as if she isn't already!). Violet loves her crate and goes in all the time to lay down. She is a mellow girl but is a youngster as well so she needs her exercise each day and then settles down beautifully in the house. She seems to be trustworthy too. Of course all labs will check out counters for food and she is no exception. But households who keep food on the counter are not approved to adopt with us anyway so this should not be an issue. Violet loves to eat and has a nice appetite. She eats her food and takes treats like a lady and has no food aggression. Violet has learned "sit", "down", "stay", "shake" and "kennel up" (go into crate) and "up-up" (get into car) while in foster. She sits to have her leash put on and she waits until you go out the door before she goes out. Her new owner should continue this work after she is adopted. Violet loves her walks more than anything. She gets very excited when she sees the leash come out. Nothing makes her happier than going on a walk and getting to check out the world. She is excellent on leash and never pulls. And she passes other dogs nicely. Violet is a good girl when left alone in the house. Now that she is using the doggie door she is out of the crate and that makes it easier for her foster mom. She loves toys, especially soft toys and she is very good at giving them up to the other dogs she is fostered with. She is basically a submissive dog. Violet will need time for her hair to grow back in - especially on her tail. She will need to complete her ear medication and other medication. She will only be considered to go out to adoption at this stage to someone who is ok with helping her continue to heal over the next week. Violet is overall a very health young dog. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you feel this girl is right for you and you are approved to adopt, please follow with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Moose Tracks adopted!
Meet Moose Tracks, an cute goofy purebred blockheaded chocolate Labby with the most darling expressions. He's a gorgeous dog and a real show stopper! Moose Tracks is just about 2 years maybe. The shelter listed him as 3 years but both we and our vet think he may only be about 1 year. So let's just say 2 for fun and go with that. He's a fun guy and just a gorgous fella. Moose Tracks is great with all other dogs big and small and he loves to be part of the going on in the home. He is great wtih all people and would even do well with children over age 6 maybe as he is a larger boy at just about 85 lbs. Though a nice sized boy, he is quite gentle and seems aware of his size. Moose loves dog park and walking on the trails. He also loves to retrieve a ball and will go for as long as you want to throw making him very easy to exercise. He can actually carry 3 tennis balls in his mouth at one time!! it's adorable and gets the attention of everyone at dog park who says how cute he is. Moose is very good on the leash too but really might need a pinch collar for those who need more control. Honestly though, our foster has zero trouble walking him. He is pretty easy to walk With good correction, he walks very nicely and he is friendly to all other dogs he meets. His worse offense might be he is too friendly at times and get get excited meeting a new buddy. But he's quick to mellow out and is really just such a good boy. Moose is a good boy in the house. He is not destructive, completely housebroken and likes his crate if you wish to use one. He will use a doggy door if you have one to let himself out. Like most labs he is very people loving and wants to be by your side. He can be very velcro at times but he is becoming less so as he settles into his foster home. Moose is just a great young family dog. He is such a nice good boy and so gorgeous that it is hard to belive he ever ended up in a shelter. We found Moose in Riverside where he had been picked up on the street as a stray. No one came for him and by the time we took him in he was in danger. Moose is a healthy boy who is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you feel this gorgeous and sweet young boy is right for you, and if you have been approved to adopt, please email donna@indilabrescue.org

| Harley adopted!
Meet Harley, a stunningly handsome male purebred Labrador with perfect conformation and loving temperament. Harley is a big ole love bug with a sweet and loving heart. He's a dudley - meaning his fur is yellow and his nose is liver colored, and he has a nice blocky head and soft amber eyes. You can not get your face by his with out getting a kiss or two and he loves pets, rubs, cuddles and attention. He is a true love bug and a very gentle sweet fella. Harley is so cool. He loves to play ball or catch a Frisbee and he can really catch the frisbee even in mid air! He also just likesas well enjoying the pack playing and running outside and settles beautifully inside once playtime is over. He's a truly fun guy and so enjoyable to foster. This handsome boy is five years old and comes with his AKC pedigree. He's a big fella but a gentle boy as well. He's great with other dogs but we have not checked him with cats so no kitties for Harley. Because he is a large Lab we think he could accidentally bump a toddler causing a tumble so we would like any children in a home to be aged 6 years and older. He will do great with a single person, a couple or a family but will probably do best with another dog. Harley came to us with his "sister" Milagro who will be available for adoption as well very soon. However in foster we could see easily that Harley and Milagro do not need to stay together. Harley gets on with every dog and does not need Milagro around at all. And she is happiest getting attention and loves all dogs but is really a couch lover and lab lover doing great in almost any situation as well. So while we think they will do find placed together, we know they will also do great placed in separate homes with another dog for company. Harley's foster mom just can't say enough good things about this beautiful loving boy and wants only the very best family for him. He's being fostered with a pack of five Labradors and would really enjoy having a loving friendly brother or sister. He probably will also think do well as an only dog to a family who has someone around a lot during the transition and where he is genuinely the treasured center of attention. Of course we want that for all our Labbies! Harley is being fostered in Santa Barbara at the east edge of Hope Ranch where he is enjoying swimming in a salt water pool and romping the orchards. If you have your application in and have been home checked write his foster mom and set up an appointment to meet him. Email judithcoursonburton@gmail.com

| Alana adopted!
Meet Alana! Talk about lovely, lovely, lovely. This beautiful English purebred chocolate female is pure sweetness. Alana is just about 2 years old. She is a darling stocky chocolate English and exactly what we look for in a Labby. She's a smaller sized girl at about 65 pounds, so is a lovely size for a lab. Alana came to us from a very high kill shelter in California. Our volunteer saw this beautiful girl and knew she needed to become an IndiLab dog, and home she came with us! Alana is a perfect dog in the house! She is gentle and wiggly and happy all the time. And she loves to be next to her person. She is completely housebroken and mellow in the house. She settles right down with just a short walk and enjoys laying at your feet while you are on the computer or watching TV. She uses the doggie door in her foster home and is non-destructive when left alone - what a good girl! Alana also walks well on leash - pulling very little. She has also been on a couple off leash hikes and did pretty well. Alana is happy to greet other people and dogs she sees, happy to walk away with anyone she meets, so she shouldn't be trusted completely off leash at first. She has also enjoyed trips to dog park where she meets and greets all the people and dogs she can! Alana knows her commands of sit and responds well to "come" as well!! She is food motivated, so she can easily be trained more commands pretty quickly. One new family will be very lucky to get this well mannered girl! Keep in mind she is still learning to take treats gently. Alana is an overall pretty mellow girl. She enjoys her walks, and would enjoy a 2-4 mile hike here or there. She's not much for playing fetch - she looks at the ball and you as if you should get the ball you just threw - silly girl. Alana is starting to enjoy the dog bones and soft squeaky toys in her foster home. She's not obsessive about her toys, but she does enjoy them, so it would be great to have some fun bones and toys for this girl in her new home! Alana is a medium to low energy gentle girl. She absolutely loves her walks and walks beautifully on the leash, passing other dogs nicely and greeting everyone. Alana is great with all other dogs. She is fostered with 2 female labs and gets along great with both of them! She can occasionally be found playing with her 10 month old foster sister lab, although Alana isn't that playful with other dogs. Alana is a true princess who likes all the attention from her person, so if you are giving attention to another dog, you will quickly find Alana moving aside her dog pal to get all of your attention. We do not know how she would do with cats, so we will not look to place her in a home with kitties at this time. Alana will do great as an only dog or with another friendly doggie companion. What she enjoys most is sitting up close to you and getting love and attention. She loves, loves, loves to be pet, and will sit next to you or roll onto her back so she can get belly rubs too. She just adores affection from all the people she meets! Alana is not jumpy and is an overall calm and mild mannered, easy going girl! Wow is this girl a prize! Alana is healthy, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed. If you think this perfect chocolate beauty is the one for you, be sure to complete an application and follow up with an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Benjamin adopted!
Meet Benjamin, a gorgeous 2 year old purebred chocolate Labrador. This boy is stunning and adorable and just the sweetest boy. Benjamin came to us from a high kill inland shelter where he was picked up as a stray with his friend Errol (also available for adoption on this page.) He was underweight but happy and sweet and seemed no worse for the wear. Benjamin is a larger lab but he is without a doubt an extremely gentle boy. He's just a big cuddle bug. He loves to cuddle and be pet and he is a pretty calm guy especially for his age. But he is still a puppy with big smiles and goofiness and loves to romp with his foster brother at times and play with his soft toys and balls. Benjamin loves his walks and passes all other dogs nicely. He is a friendly guy and loves his exercise. He is fostered in Santa Monica and so he meets many dogs on his walks through town. He tends to pull on the leash she he must be walked on a prong collar or a gentle leader to make him easy to walk. Benjamin likes people and kids and is a good candiate for families with children. However he is probably too goofy and young to go with toddlers since he may knock them over. Like all Labs Benjamin love treats and food. Counters should be kept clear because he is tall and can reach pretty easily anything close to the edge. :-) Benjamin is a good boy in the house and car. He is not destructive and settles beautifully after exercise. He loves his crate and goes in all by himself. He sleeps the night through without a peep! In the morning you open the crate and he comes out slowly on his own. So cute! Benjamin is housebroken too and he is also good in the car. Benjamin is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. All that's needed now is the best forever home! Benjamin will probably do best in a home with another friendly canine companion to keep him company. Or if you are looking for two amazing labbies he and Errol are fostered together and just love each other! They were found together and may be brothers. They sure do look alike though Errol is black! If you feel this darling youngster is right for you and you have been approved to adopt, please send an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Harrison adopted!
This gorgeous purebred Labrador boy is Harrison! this fellow is a super handsome jet black 1-2 year old male Lab with a lovely personality. Harrison is a medium sized boy with medium energy. He needs decent exercise but overall is a mellow easy going boy. He has a stunning blocky head and a perfect otter tail and when he looks into your eyes he makes your heart melt. Harrison came to us from a high kill southbay shelter. As usual, we were pretty amazing because he is spectacular. You can't help but wonder how he ended up there. And although the black Labrador is about the most classicly beautiful dog we know of and hugely popular with true Labrador people, in shelters they are often overlooked. Dark and black dogs in general just aren't seen quite as easily in shelters. Harrison is wonderful with all other dogs. He's also ok with cats. that said he chases cats and is not bombproof with them. So we will only consider a home with cats is the cats are extremely dog savvy and the owners are not overprotective of kitties. Otherwise he should really just go to a cat free home. Harrison loves his walks and walks very easily and nicely on the leash. He is not a puller and passes other dogs nicely as well. Harrison is a good candidate to become a therapy dog if you are interested in doing that with him. He will need to certify of course but he has the solid temperament that would make him good for that sort of work. He loves the car and is a good boy on rides. His foster dad is an airplane pilot and Harrison has even done well and enjoyed rides in the plane! Harrison will do best in a home where he won't be the only dog left alone all day. He's still young and needs love, attention, time and companionship and we never like to place dogs with those needs in a home where they are alone 10 or 11 hours a day without any stimulation. He will do great with or without another dog for company and is a lovely walking partner. He will also do great at dog park and dog beach. Harrison is housebroken and settles beautifully in the house. He loves his own toys and leaves your stuff alone. He would like lots of toys please! Harrison is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and healthy. If you feel this beautiful guy is right for you, please be sure you have done your application and homecheck and then follow up with an email to donna@indilabrescue.org

| Conner adopted!
Meet Conner, a gorgeous purebred white Labrador male of about 6 years. He's beautiful, sweet, mellow, and pretty much one of the nicest dogs around. Conner is wonderful with all other dogs and is great with cats making him a good choice for kitty homes. He is a medium energy boy and will do great with or without a fellow canine companion or kitty companions. Conner comes to us from a very high kill inland empire shelter where he was in danger of euthanisia. Apparenlty his owner gave him away and his new owner decided he was not allowed to have a dog and turned him into the shelter. Whateve the story is, this boy was not treated as he should have been so we are thrilled more than imaginable that he is with us. He is so lovely we couldn't be happier to help him. Conner was "debarked" at some point. It's horrible that someone would do that to him. We noticed it when he let out a little "bark" than didn't sound right. Needless to say Conner's barking is very, very quiet. Conner is wonderful on the leash and in the car and house. He is non-destructive, calm and settles beautifully. He's a pretty easy dog but he still has medium energy and needs his good walks and park time. He meets other dogs nicely and he really enjoys their company. We love his blocky English look and his beautiful white coat and sweet face. He is really a beautiful dog but his looks are only part of what makes Conner a great dog. His heart is the best part of this happy guy. Conner would love a home that will give him lots of attention and let him sleep near his people in their room. He'll do great with or without another dog and will enjoy kitty companions too. He'll do find with kids we think and he is pretty gentle though any Lab can knock toddlers over. Overall Conner is just a really nice dog with a lot of great qualities. Whoever is blessed enought to adopt him will be very lucky indeed! Conner is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. If you feel this boy is right for you and you have been approved to adopt, please be sure to email scartersoo@mac.com for more info about meeting Conner

| Dylan Girl adopted!
This stunning beauty queen is Dylan. She is a gorgeous white purebred english or bench bred female Labrador who is 6 years old and is a show quality AKC Labrador. Dylan is not chunky. She is Bench Bred. She is short and stocky like the perfect English Bench Bred lab should be. She is darn adorable with her teddy bear stature. Before we go too much further, let's be clear...Dylan is a couch potato. In other words she is MEL-LOW! The kind of girl who loves a simple stoll around the block or so and then home. Or to sit at your feet while you have coffee at your favorite cafe. This is a TRUE Bench Bred English import Lab. She is bred to snuggle, not run, not hike, not jog. She is bred to be extremely low key. Dylan is a lovely girl. They don't come better bred than this girl. She has show quality conformation, a gorgeous light yellow/white color coat, and a perfect otter tail. We can barely look at her without swooning!!!! Dylan has about the best temperament of any Labrador we have had in this rescue. She is absolutely a lover of all and a big wiggler to boot. She smiles constantly and just loves everything about being a Lab. Dylan is a retired show and breeding dog. She is an easy going girl who is great with all other dogs, cats and probably every living creature! She is just a happy go lucky labby happy in every situation and with every person and other animal. We are looking for only the very best home for Dylan. She would love a home where she can go on daily walks, maybe on a hike or two, but she can't go that far. She is a bit of a couch potato and is a lower energy English Lab, happy to just lay at your feet as well. Dylan loves water too. So if you live near the beach or have a pool or go to the lake, she would just adore time spent in the water! Dylan would likely do great with children as she is a gentle, loving, sweet girl. She is not jumpy or mouthy although she does really enjoy her doggie toys and bones in her foster home! This girl is truly a therapy quality dog - rarely phased by things going on around her. Dylan enjoys the company of other dogs. She would love a friendly and sweet companion. Not an alpha dog or dog that is too nutty, but a calm sweet doggie friend would be nice for her. She has spent her life so far with other dogs all the time, so we would really like to find her a home with another dog. Dylan is housebroken - although she should be watched at first in her new home until she gets her potty routine down. She sleeps soundly through the night on a doggie bed in the bedroom with you and walks fabulously on leash too - never pulling! Dylan is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. If you think Dylan is the perfect dog to add to your home, be sure to send an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Brinkley adopted!
Wow, talk about gorgeous! Meet Brinkley, a truly well bred purebred Labrador. This yellow English boy is a stocky guy with a nice blocky head and as far as looks go, it doesn't get any better. Brinkley is a youngster at about 2-3 years of age. But boy is he an easy going dog and a complete teddy bear. He is really a gorgeous boy and is a perfect bench bred guy with the conformation and temperament we expect from an true Lab. This perfectly well behaved, trained, and clearly well loved Labrador came to us from one of the highest kill shelters around Los Angeles. Minutes away from euthanasia, our volunteer saved this boy's life and brought him to safety! This is almost impossible to believe knowing how perfect this guy is. It's horribly sad that no one found him to take him home. Brinkley is amazing. He is a very easy going boy who is a perfect gentleman with every person and every dog he meets. He is great with all other dogs. He is wonderful about sharing toys and space too and has very nice doggie manners. He can get a little jumpy when excited, but truly what young labbie doesn't! Brinkley knows his commands of "sit" and "come" and wants to please his person. He also takes treats nice and gently, so treat training is easy with this boy! He is a good boy who settles perfectly inside and is completely housebroken and non-destructive when left at home. He is fostered with a 9 year old female labbie and the two get along very well. Brinkley is a medium energy boy who does well with a good walk and then is settled for the day. He is the perfect candidate for dog park or dog beach because of how well he does with all people and other dogs. He is a happy, wiggly boy who also enjoys car rides. He will hop right into the car and just relax and enjoy the ride. So far he hasn't shown much interest in doggie toys or playing fetch in his foster home - perhaps he didn't know much about toys in his previous life. He is mostly interested in sitting next to his people and getting lots of love and pets! Brinkley is good on the leash too. He passes all other dogs nicely and doesn't pull too bad at all. He takes correction very well. Brinkley will do great with children though we prefer to place him with children over age 6 since he is big boy at 80 lbs. He loves to be pet and belly rubs are great! He's a little timid when it comes to hugs, as much as he loves to be pet, he isn't as fond of being hugged or laid on top of. Hence, children over age 6 are probably best for this boy so they understand what he adores as the teddy bear he is and what he doesn't adore as much. He will do beautifully with another canine companion or as your one and only dog. Brinkley would prefer to have his family home more often, so if your family is gone every weekday at work for 6 hours or more, this boy probably isn't the one for you. Brinkley is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and neutered. He is just pure joy and waiting for the right home. If you think this boy is the one for you, be sure to complete an application and follow up with an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Nana adopted!
Meet Nana, a lovely purebred chocolate female Labrador. She is a lovely combination of playful energy and nice indoor mellowness. This 4 year old girl is a little chunky so she could benefit from losing about 10 pounds. She is still a young Lab at age 4 and loves her daily exercise, but she is the perfect mix of fun and easy. She walks fabulously on leash, never pulling, so she makes a great walking partner! She would also enjoy hiking, dog park and perhaps even a game of fetch. And Nana loves the water! She really enjoys swimming in her foster family's pool! She would likely love trips to dog beach too. Nana's story is a sad one - not unlike the others. Nana and another male lab were witnessed being dumped out of a car into a local park. Luckily for Nana and her doggie companion, there was a lovely woman who saw what happened and immediately went over to pick up and take both dogs home with her! This story is all too common these days - and we will never know why 2 amazing dogs were just set free and left to their own devices. After a trip to the vet showed no microchips and an effort to find their owners came up empty, both dogs became IndiLab dogs! Their future changed for the better! Nana is a very sweet, medium energy girl. She can be playful, however she also settles down beautifully after her walk or trip to the park. She loves other dogs and all people she meets! She is fostered with a male lab and the two get along beautifully. She is really just a joy. This girl would make any family happy! She loves to be pet and will roll over for belly rubs at any time, any place. She will even give her paw to you when she wants more attention. Nana is wonderful with other dogs and very good on the leash. We think Nana will do fine with another friendly canine companion or as an only dog. She is not really playful with other dogs, and would do well with or without their companionship in her forever home. Nana is completely housebroken and is not destructive in the house, and settles very well. She is also a very good girl in the car and just lays down while you drive - although she might find her way up to your front passenger seat if you allow her - silly girl. She seems to enjoy car rides. Nana takes treats very gently and is not jumpy or mouthy, so she would likely do well in a home with or without children. Although keep in mind any playful Lab can knock over toddlers and any excited lab can get jumpy and bouncy too. Nana is healthy, spayed, up to date on shots, and flea control, and microchipped. If you think Nana is the girl for you, be sure to complete an application to adopt and follow up with an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

Errol adopted!
Meet Errol, a beautiful 2 year old purebred jet black, shiny Labrador. Errol is gorgeous with a block head and shiny coat and he is just the nicest dog. Errol came to us from a high kill inland shelter where he was picked up as a stray with his friend Benjamin the chocolate Labby (also available for adoption on this page.) He was underweight but happy with a nice attitude and friendly as could be. Errol is a nice sized large lab who is a gentle fella and super sweet. He's an affectionate guy who loves attention and hugs and kisses.. He loves to be pet and be near his people. Errol is still a young guy with a goofy personality and enjoys playing with his foster brother at times and playing with his soft toys and balls. Errol loves going for walks and passes all other dogs like a gentleman. He is a friendly guy and loves his exercise. He is fostered in Santa Monica and so he meets many dogs on his walks through town. He tends to pull on the leash she he must be walked on a prong collar or a gentle leader to make him easy to walk. Errol likes people and kids and may be a candiate for families with children. However he is probably too goofy and young to go with toddlers since he may knock them over. We prefer children over age 7 for this guy. Like all Labs any of us have ever met, Errol love treats and food. Counters should be kept clear because he is tall and can reach pretty easily anything close to the edge. :-) Errol is a good boy in the house and car. He is not destructive and settles beautifully after exercise. Errol loves his crate and goes in all by himself. He sleeps the night through without a peep! In the morning you open the crate and he comes out slowly on his own. So cute! Errol is housebroken too and he is also good in the car. Errol is up to date on vaccines, neutered and microchipped. Or if you are looking for two amazing labbies he and Benjamin are fostered together and just love each other! They were found together and may be brothers. They sure do look alike though Benjamin is chocolate. They get along GREAT! | Scout adopted
Meet Scout! This darling purebred AKC chocolate Labrador puppy is just 5 months old. He is the cutest little guy and boy is he a nice fella! Scout came to us when his owner was forced to relocate out of the country. He gave Scout to his daughter but she works full time and did not really have time for a little guy like this so she contacted us to help him find the best forever home. This little fella is pretty neat. He has already completed his first puppy obedience class and did great. He needs to practice his commands but he does know them and he is a baby that love to please! Scout is also crate trained and potty trained. Pretty nice for a little guy to be good with that! He's a happy playful fella who loves his buddies and dog park and is basically good on the leash though he sure does need to continue practicing! Scout is a medium energy puppy but he IS a puppy! That means puppy proofing of course and putting things like sunglasses, remotes, cell phones, and wallets away while providing lots of chew toys, kongs, bully sticks, balls, and other fun things to play with. Scout is a little too mouthy for little kids. Most all Labby puppies are mouthy and in this case, Scout is no exception. He loves to play and tackle and mouth his "opponent" and at times little toddlers can easily be considered a play companion and get hurt. Scout is not a big barker or digger and he has been doing well when left alone with other dogs. He is also pretty good in the car. Scout will do best in a puppy committed home where someone has the time to work with a little guy. He will do best where someone is around a lot or with another dog. He's ok with cats but does chase them so kitty families will only be considered if kitty is very dog savvy and the owners are not too overprotective and paranoid about heir kitty getting upset. Scout is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, wormed and up to date on flea protection. If you feel this little man is right for you and you have been approved to adopt, please contact donna@indilabrescue.org

| Toby Frost adopted!
Meet Toby Frost, a therapy-dog-quality yellow purebed yellow lab! He is about 3 years old and is a very mellow, easy going, perfectly tempered Lab. If you are intersted in having a therapy dog, this is a great way to go. Toby He about 85 pounds and needs to lose about 10 pounds to get to his perfect weight, so he will gladly welcome you on walks & dog park visits to get in shape. He's very gentle and calm and has one of the nicest dispositions around. He will make an excellent therapy dog Toby Frost came to us when we saw him at a local high kill shelter and knew we had to rescue this boy! He is a pretty mellow boy for a 3 year old - but of course 3 is still young for a lab, so he will need good daily exercise. He is also obedient - knowing how to sit, stay, lie down and always comes when he calles with a happy tail wag. He is a happy wiggly lab who at times likes to think he is still a lap dog - not quite aware that he is a little large for a lap - silly boy! He is currently being fostered with 4 female dogs and he does well with all of them. Toby isn't too playful with other dogs, just enjoys their companionship. He has also met many other dogs on walks around the neighborhood, both large & small and he has done beautifully with all of them. Mostly Toby loves his people and the affection he can get from them! He just adores his belly rubs, being pet and brushed are his favorite things on earth! He is completely housebroken and non-destructive in the house. Although remember that any new dog can have an accident in their new home while they get adjusted to their new routine. Toby is a medium energy boy. He settles well in the house after his exercise, often lying at your feet, or on the floor next to the bed. He sleeps soundly through the night on a doggie bed too. He is also a fabulous car rider, so would do great on regular car trips if you would like to bring him with you. Toby will do well with another doggie companion or as your one and only. He is good with other dogs, but doesn't require their companionship all the time. He enjoys a game of fetch and likes his doggie toys too. And true to his labbie personality, he can sometimes be found destuffing a doggie toy. Toby can be found counter surfing at times, so it is important (as with any lab) that you not leave food on counters where he can easily grab them for a snack. Toby can pull on leash, so is best walked with a gentle leader or a pinch collar while he is learning how to be a perfect walking companion. He sure does love his walks and he is great passing other dogs. Toby is a wiggly, happy boy, and while he would do well with kids, is likely too wiggly for little ones. Because of this, he would be best placed with kids 6 and older. Overall Toby is a medium energy level boy. Given a couple good walks a day he will settle nicely. Of course he would also enjoy regular trips to the dog park where he can play with his doggie friends too. He rides great in the car! Toby is neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his shots. If you think Toby is a great match for your home, please be sure to fill out an application to adopt and contact indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Boyd adopted!
Meet Boyd, a 2 year old darling purebred yellow male Labrador on the petite side with a sweet face and perfect disposition. His foster mom says "Boyd has lots of darling expressions that compliment his perfect labby head and ears!" We agree, he is darn adorable! At just 65 stocky pounds, this doll is really cute and loves to be cuddled. He is a young fella, but after his play and exercise, he settles very nicely inside the house! He likes to find his favorite snuggle spot and curl up and relax or nap. He makes a fabulous snuggle companion his foster mom says!!! Boyd is a young boy rescued from a very high kill shelter. Hard to believe! This gorgeous yellow butterball loves the leash and walking! He loves his walks and checking out the world around him. He walks very nicely! He is learning his basic commands now (sit, stay, come and heal) and his foster mom says he really wants to learn and please. What a good boy. Boyd is a playful young boy. He has plenty of youngster energy but is not a hyper dog. He just really love to play and fetch and go to dog park or dog beach. He needs plenty of exercise and attention as any well adjusted lab of 2 years would require. In return he learns quick, is obedient, and mellows out beautifully in the house. Boyd likes other dogs and will do great in his new home with a friendly canine companion. We don't know about cats though so we won't be placing him with kitties. Boyd loves people and is good with children. He is fostered with older kids. That say he shouldn't go to a home with kids under age 7 as he is energetic and playful and he may knock a smaller child down. Boyd is just a wonderful even tempered purebred Lab. He is a bit score for the right family looking for a nice younger Labby. We think he will love a young dog obedience class and would really benefit from training. He'll be a fun buddy to do fun things with and will love hiking and walking and playing with his new family. We sure feel lucky to have this guy in our care and we only want the most deserving and lovely forever home for him! Boyd is healthy, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. If you feel Boyd is right for you and you are approved to adopt, please shoot an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com

| Duke 5 adopted!
Meet Duke number five! - a stunningly handsome purebred black male Labrador. This boy is 3 years old and couldn't be a more lovable, happy boy. He has a gorgeous shiny, soft jet black coat and soulful eyes that you can't help but adore! Poor Duke came to us from a high kill shelter in the outskirts of Los Angeles! This perfect boy was found at a shelter by an IndiLab volunteer who immediately said he needed to come home with us. Duke is doing great in his foster home! He is good with the female lab he is fostered with and every dog he meets! He loves his trips to the dog park too and gets along great with every dog there both small and large! And of course, he adores people! Duke enjoys his walks and the doggie friends he meets at dog park too. He's not too playful with other dogs, but does great with all of them. Duke is a medium energy boy. He walks pretty well on leash - he can pull at times, but responds to correction well. He even enjoys playing a game of fetch! He will settle very well in the house after his morning walk and just enjoy laying by your feet during the day. He would do great with a couple walks a day, and might even enjoy a trip to dog park or a hike now and again. And Duke is very well trained!! He knows sit, down, stay, shake and "sit up" - what a lovely boy he is!! And he's completely housebroken and non-destructive when left alone! One family will be getting a great, easy dog! Duke is also great in the car - just a happy go lucky boy. He will hop right up in the car and just sit or lay down to enjoy the ride. He is quiet, not a barker and a joy to have around. He will bark when someone comes to the door to alert you, but does not just bark for no reason. Duke will do fine as an only dog or with another doggie companion. We think Duke would do well with children over age 10. He is a little shy at first so young kids who come right into his space to hug him can sometimes be overwhelming for him. But once he knows you, he adores being pet. Duke is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. All he needs now is a family to call his own! If you think Duke is the dog for you, be sure to complete an application and then send an email to indilabgirl@gmail.com
